Ureolytic Activity of Soybean and Corn Residue Extracts

The enzyme urease is responsible for the rapid hydrolysis of urea in agroecosystems where more than 50% of the applied nitrogen (N) can be lost via ammonia volatilization. The objectives of the study were to (1) extract urease from corn (Zea mays L.) and soybean (Glycine max L.) and (2) compare the urease activity from soybean and corn residues to Jackbean (Canavalia ensiformis) urease using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTI-R). Concentrations of urea and sodium bicarbonate ranging from 0 to 200 mM were analyzed with FTI-R to determine the correlation to peak height. Bicarbonate produced the most responsive peaks to concentration at 1,362 cm^?1. Urease extracted from soybean residue was active, producing a bicarbonate peak at 1362 cm^?1, whereas no urease activity was observed in corn residue. Variation among urease activities in crop residues could suggest a need for more precise nitrogen management in conservation tillage agroecosystems to reduce ammonia volatilization.

抑制素免疫山羊卵巢对外源性促性腺激素的反应

用重组绵羊抑制素α亚单位在不发情季节主动免疫 4 0只波尔山羊。免疫前和免疫后用马的绒毛膜促性腺激素 (eCG)或猪的卵泡刺激素 (pFSH)处理。排卵通过超声波检测 ,胚胎用非手术法回收。试验结果表明 ,抑制素主动免疫能引起山羊超数排卵。

副结核分枝杆菌DNA探针的制备与应用

以溶菌酶、ＳＤＳ、高氯酸钠等处理提取副结核分析杆菌Ｃ２株染色体ＤＮＡ，经限制性内切酶Ｐｓｔ Ｉ消化后，以质粒ｐＢｌｕｅｓｃｒｉｐｔ ＳＫ为载体，通过Ｔ４ＤＮＡ连接酶连接，转入Ｅ。ｃｏｌｉ ＤＨ５ａ受体菌中，构建了副结核菌Ｃ２株的ＤＮＡ基因文库。应用反向杂交试验，从基因文库中筛选出４个重组克隆：ＰＴＰ１２、ＰＴＰ１９、ＰＴＰ３８。对这４个重组克隆进行酶切、电泳分析，结果表明４个插入片段长度分别为：４

The contributions of John Vercoe as a scientist and research leader to animal production research and extension for the beef industry in tropical Australia are briefly reviewed. John Vercoe was honoured in many ways for these outstanding contributions, for his executive roles on national and international research organisations and especially for his contributions to international efforts aimed at reducing world poverty by exploiting the opportunities available from improved livestock production in developing countries.     

The Global Plan of Action for Animal Genetic Resources — The road to common understanding and agreement

The first International Technical Conference on Animal Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, took place from 3 to 7 September, 2007, in Interlaken, Switzerland. The main achievement of the Conference was the adoption of the Global Plan of Action for Animal Genetic Resources, the first ever international framework for the promotion of the wise management of animal genetic resources for food and agriculture, endorsed by governments. The article describes the technical and intergovernmental processes developing the Global Plan of Action. The adoption of the Global Plan of Action has created unprecedented momentum for promoting the sustainable use, development and conservation of the world's livestock diversity. The international community is now facing the challenge to ensure that the Global Plan of Action is effectively implemented.     

动物养殖安全风险评估

针对我国动物源性产品质量安全问题,概述动物及其产品风险评估的重要作用.采用Visual Studio.NET 2008,面向对象程序设计思想的编程语言C#和.NET Framework3.5编程环境,研发了动物及其产品风险预警系统.该系统利用计算机对不同的动物的养殖环境、疫病发生及动物产品在实际生产中的数据进行风险评估.通过3个实例的演示,将风险评估应用于畜牧生产实际.结果表明,该系统简单易操作,覆盖面较广,数据采集较简易.利用风险评估模型在养殖等相关环节可控制动物及其产品的风险,减少经济损失,保障公众健康.
