ObjectiveTo evaluate a veterinary-specific oscillometric noninvasive blood pressure (NIBP) system according to the guidelines of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Consensus Statement.Study designProspective clinical study.AnimalsA total of 33 client-owned cats (20 females and 13 males).MethodsCats were premedicated with methadone (0.3 mg kg−1) and alfaxalone (2 mg kg−1) intramuscularly. After 15 minutes anesthesia was induced with isoflurane (3%) in 100% oxygen by facemask while breathing spontaneously. A 22 gauge catheter was placed in the median caudal artery and systolic (SAP), diastolic (DAP) and mean (MAP) arterial pressures were measured. NIBP measurements were collected by placing the cuff (40% of limb circumference) on the right or left antebrachium. The agreement between the two methods was evaluated with the Bland–Altman methods, and the oscillometric NIBP device was evaluated using the ACVIM guidelines for validation of devices.ResultsData from 30 of the 33 cats were analyzed. Five paired measurements were taken from each cat, totaling 150 paired measurements. Mean bias (limits of agreements) for SAP, DAP and MAP were 2.7 (−22.7 to 28.1), 0.9 (−22.3 to 24.2) and 1.3 (−20.4 to 23.0). The oscillometric NIBP passed all validation criteria, except correlation which was <0.9 for SAP, DAP and MAP.Conclusions and clinical relevanceThe Vet20 did not meet all validation criteria by the ACVIM. 为确定炮制黄精多糖(PPP)的最佳提取工艺,本试验以黄精为原料,进行炮制,利用超高压技术提取PPP,分析了压力强度、保压时间、料液比对PPP提取率的影响,采用Box-Behnken响应面分析法(RSM)优化PPP提取条件,并对所得多糖进行动物体内试验,分析小鼠血清、肝脏和左腿腓肠肌中相关酶的活性变化,探究其提高机体运动耐力机制。结果表明,PPP最佳提取工艺条件为:液料比23 mL·g-1、保压时间6.73 min,压力强度293 MPa,在此条件下PPP得率为13.46%;能显著提高小鼠力竭游泳时间(P<0.05),相比于游泳对照组,小鼠血清中尿素氮(SUN)、乳酸(Lac)和肝脏丙二醛(MDA)含量显著下降(P<0.05),同时乳酸脱氢酶(LDH)活性下降、Ca2+Mg2+-ATP酶及肌酸激酶(CK)活性上升,对提高小鼠运动耐力具有较好的效果。本研究结果为超高压提取PPP奠定了基础,并为PPP提高运动耐力的机制研究提供了数据支持。  相似文献

Comparison of test characteristics allows a clinician to choose the optimal diagnostic test method for an individual patient. This study assessed the comparative test characteristics of noninvasive (NI) blood pressure measurement methods (oscillometric and Doppler) and used this information to develop optimal cutoff values for diagnosis of systolic hypertension in dogs by these NI methods. Simultaneous NI (oscillometric or Doppler methods) and invasive (arterial puncture [AP]) systolic blood pressure (SBP) measurements were obtained prospectively from normal dogs and dogs suspected of having systemic hypertension based on clinical signs. Oscillometric SBP readings were obtained from the distal hind limb (Osc-L, n = 54) or the proximal tail (T. n = 27). Doppler BP measurements were obtained using a forelimb cuff (n = 57). AP-SBP was categorized as hypertensive if > or = 160 mmHg, and sensitivity (Se). specificity (Sp), and likelihood ratios (LR) were calculated for diagnostic cutoff values ranging from 130 to 220 mmHg. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curves were analyzed to determine optimal cutoff values for diagnosis of AP-SBP > or = 160 mmHg. Optimal NI SBP cutoff values considered to reflect AP values > or = 160 mmHg were: Osc-L = 160 mmHg (Se: 65%, Sp: 85%. 本试验在121℃条件下,采用不同灭菌时间对不同包装规格的SPF鸡饲料进行高压蒸汽灭菌处理,通过细菌培养和灭菌指示剂对不同处理后饲料的灭菌效果进行检查,以确定饲料最短有效灭菌时间。结果表明,饲料包装尺寸影响高压蒸汽灭菌效果,在包装尺寸合理的前提下,经121℃、20min高压蒸汽处理过的饲料,在30d的保存期内未检测到细菌,可以满足SPF鸡饲料的灭菌要求,生物灭菌指示剂试验得出同样结果。  相似文献

Background: Direct colloid osmometry provides an objective assessment of the oncotic effects of crystalloid or colloidal fluid therapy, which is especially useful in monitoring fluid therapy of critically ill camelids due to their tendency toward nonspecific hypoproteinemia with increased risk of developing edema and ascites. Objectives: The aims of this study were to measure colloid osmotic pressure (COP) of alpacas and llamas, determine its correlation with concentrations of total protein (TP) and total solids (TS), as well as both albumin (A) and globulin (G) concentrations in the same model (A+G), and evaluate the effects of sample type and storage conditions on COP. Methods: Blood was collected from clinically healthy alpacas (n=23) and llamas (n=22) into heparin tubes. COP of fresh whole blood (COPFB) and plasma (COPFP) was determined using a membrane osmometer. For 20 alpacas, COP of refrigerated whole blood (COPRB) and frozen plasma (COPFrP) was also measured. Correlations between COPFB and TS, TP, and A+G concentrations were assessed by simple and multiple regression analysis to model potential predictors. Results: Median COPFB from alpacas (24.6 mmHg, range 19.3–28.1) was not significantly different from that of llamas (25.3 mmHg, range 22.5–33.7). Sample type or storage conditions did not affect COP. Measured COP had a strong positive linear correlation with TS, TP, and A+G concentrations in alpacas (r2=.7, .74, and .88, respectively). In llamas, COP correlated best with TS concentration (r2=.59), whereas correlation with TP and A+G concentrations was poor (r2=.19 and .25, respectively). Conclusion: COP can be measured using heparinized whole blood or plasma, either fresh or stored. Direct measurement is recommended whenever quantitative knowledge of COP is required in clinical or research setting. Further studies are needed to verify if the poor association of COP with TP found in this study can be generalized to llamas.  相似文献

为了探讨麻醉药对正常家兔心电图、呼吸率和血压的影响,将5~6月龄的家兔20只随机分成4组,分别为正常对照组、水合氯醛组、速眠新Ⅱ组、二甲苯胺噻唑组。采用RM6240BD多通道生理信号采集处理系统,测定家兔动脉血压、呼吸率,Ⅱ导联家兔心电图(electrocardiograph,ECG)波形和心率(heart rate,HR)变化。结果显示,ECG各波形变化均比较恒定,仅动作电位在传导过程中各段时间变化存在差异;注射不同的麻醉药后,水合氯醛使家兔HR加快,而注射速眠新Ⅱ及二甲苯胺噻唑后则使HR明显减慢,尤其是二甲苯胺噻唑对HR的影响较大;呼吸率(respiration rate,RR)的变化,3种麻醉药均比正常组高,而二甲苯胺噻唑组最高;血压变化,动脉收缩压(systolic blood pressure,SBP):二甲苯胺噻唑>水合氯醛>速眠新Ⅱ,且均低于正常水平;动脉舒张压(diastolic blood pressure,DBP):水合氯醛>二甲苯胺噻唑>速眠新Ⅱ,但水合氯醛组与二甲苯胺噻唑组差异不显著(P>0.05)。家兔正常状态下,其心电图、心率、呼吸频率和血压的变化与有关文献存在差异,有必要正确掌握其变动范围。  相似文献

Objective – To establish the efficacy of Oxyglobin (HB-200) in canine babesiosis and compare it to standard therapy, packed red blood cell transfusion (pRBCT) with respect to improvements in specific parameters of blood gas, acid-base, blood pressure, and subjective evaluations.
Design – Prospective, randomized, clinical trial.
Setting – Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital.
Animals – Twelve dogs (8–25 kg) naturally infected with Babesia rossi and a hematocrit of 0.1–0.2 L/L (10–20%).
Interventions – Treatment groups were randomized to receive either 20 mL/kg of Oxyglobin or pRBCT over 4 hours via a central venous catheter. Transfusions were followed by lactated Ringer's solution infusion. Rectal temperature, femoral arterial and mixed venous blood sampling, oscillometric blood pressure, and subjective assessment of patient status (habitus), and appetite were performed at time points 0, 1, 4, 8, 24, 48, and 72 hours.
Main Results – Dogs presented with a hypoalbuminemic alkalosis; hyperchloremic, dilutional acidosis; normotensive tachycardia; pyrexia; depression; and anorexia. Both treatments produced similar results, with the exception of significant differences in pH (4 h); PCO2 (4 h); hemoglobin (8 h, 24 h); mean arterial pressure (48 h); albumin (4 h, 8 h); habitus (8 h, 48 h); and appetite (24 h). Arterial O2 content was higher for pRBCT than Oxyglobin at 72 hours, but central venous PO2 did not differ between groups or over time and was consistently subnormal.
Conclusions – Oxyglobin provides similar overall improvements to pRBCT in dogs with anemia from babesiosis, with respect to blood gas, acid-base and blood pressure, although patients receiving packed cells tended to have more rapid normalization of habitus and appetite.  相似文献
