Small variant wheat populations created by induced mutagenesis (n = 69) or adventitious regeneration (n = 66) were intensively screened for an altered response (compared to the parent variety ‘Guardian’) to the causal pathogen of powdery mildew in wheat, Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici. Intensive field screening following natural infection of replicated plots of wheat lines over two years revealed a total of 13 mutants exhibiting significantly greater resistance than ‘Guardian’: eight from induced mutagenesis (11.6%) of the M2 population and five from adventitious regeneration (7.6%). Complete resistance was identified in two lines, (one (M66) developed following induced mutagenesis, and the other (SC240) by adventitious regeneration). The complete resistance in the induced mutant was stable over two generations and was associated with a high frequency of leaf flecking, and consequently a low grain yield. Resistance in SC240 proved to be unstable; SC240 exhibited complete resistance to powdery mildew in the SC2 and SC3 generations, but only 20% of the SC4 plants were completely resistant, while the remainder were indistinguishable in mildew response to ‘Guardian’. The mildew response of all the SC5 generation of SC240 was not significantly different from ‘Guardian’. Yield analysis of the thirteen mutants with increased resistance in the presence of powdery mildew indicated that eleven exhibitedgrain yields at least as high as that of ‘Guardian’, while the mutant M19 exhibited a yield significantly higher than that of ‘Guardian’. Summary The expression of rust resistances conferred by closely linked genes derived from VPM1 varied with environmental conditions and with genetic backgrounds. Under low light and low temperature conditions seedlings carrying Yr17 showed susceptible responses. Stem rust and leaf rust resistance genes Sr38 and Lr37 tended to confer more resistance at 17±2° C than at normal temperatures above > 20° C. These studies supported the hypothesis that Yr17, Lr37 and Sr38 were derived from Aegilops ventricosa, whereas Pm4b was probably derived from T. persicum. Studies on certain addition lines and parental stocks indicated that wheat cytoplasm may enhance the expression of Sr38.  相似文献

Fifty-nine winter wheat cultivars and thirteen lines possessing known powdery mildew resistance genes were inoculated with eleven different isolates. By comparing their resistance patterns the responsible major resistance genes of the above-mentioned cultivars have been determined. The so-called “Blaukorn” resistance is conditioned by gent Pm4b. The resistance patterns of Ml-i and Pm5 being similar, the relationship between them has to be analysed by segregating populations.  相似文献

Under crowded infection conditions, isolates of Erysiphe graminis f.sp. tritici with reduced sensitivity to fenpropimorph displayed a lower competitive ability than wild type isolates. The lower competitive ability could not be ascribed to changes in germination, latent period, colony forming ability or production of conidia, but seems to be a complex change in phenotype that cannot be assessed easily by characterization of individual fitness components. Using mildew isolates containing fungicide-sensitivity and virulence markers to study survival, some isolates with reduced sensitivity to fenpropimorph survived the winter. The competitive ability of these isolates seemed to be slightly lower than that of the mildew population that migrated naturally into the experimental field. Results described indicate that in practice, in periods without selection pressure, the frequency of isolates with reduced sensitivity to this compound may decrease.  相似文献

Wheat yield losses caused by powdery mildew were computed based on effects of the disease on leaf photosynthesis. Powdery mildew was introduced in a crop model of wheat by quantification of five parameters, taking the vertical and horizontal distribution of mildew in the crop into account. The most important parameters were those of the mildew intensity, the distribution of mildew in the crop, and the effect of mildew on assimilation at light saturation. Measured mildew epidemics in field experiments in three different years, were used to compute yield losses. Computed losses were compared to measured losses. On average, computed yield loss approached measured, but measured yield loss was underestimated, especially in early mildew epidemics due to the computation of partitioning and reallocation of assimilates. Other processes which may cause an underestimation are described. The use of crop models as a method to upgrade disease management systems is discussed.Samenvatting Opbrengstderving van wintertarwe werd berekend aan de hand van het effect dat meeldauw heeft op de blad-fotosynthese. Een rekenmodel voor de gewasgroei van tarwe werd uitgebreid met meeldauw. Met inachtneming van de vertikale en horizontale verdeling van meeldauw in het gewas, werd meeldauw in het model gekwantificeerd door vijf parameters. De belangrijkste parameters waren die van de meeldauwintensiteit, de verdeling van meeldauw in het gewas en het effect van meeldauw op de assimilatie bij een overvloed aan licht. Epidemieën van meeldauw, gemeten in veldproeven in drie verschillende jaren, werden gebruikt om opbrengstdervingen te berekenen. Gemiddeld kwam deze redelijk overeen met de in de veldproeven gemeten opbrengstderving. De gemeten opbrengstderving werd echter onderschat, vooral bij vroege epidemieën van meeldauw door de wijze waarop de (her)verdeling van assimilaten wordt berekend. Andere mechanismen, die een onderschatting van opbrengstderving kunnen veroorzaken worden besproken. Of deze modellen als methode gebruikt kunnen worden om systemen voor de geleide bestrijding van ziekten te verbeteren wordt bediscussieerd.  相似文献

In replicate-plot field experiments done in the UK, at one site in Avon for 3 years and another in Warwickshire for 2 years, application of ethirimol or triadimenol sprays or seed treatments was followed by decreases in sensitivity of mildew samples to the particular fungicide applied. Application of ethirimol-triadimenol or tridemorph-triadimenol mixtures caused smaller or no decreases in sensitivity. Differences between isolates in responses to ethirimol and to triadimenol treatment were usually negatively correlated. Early-season inoculum differed in fungicide sensitivity between sites. At one site sensitivity shifted markedly from one season to another. No clear interactions between cultivar, mildew pathotype and shifts in fungicide response could be discerned. There were no major differences in resistance build-up between seed or spray treatments.In veldexperimenten met herhalingen uitgevoerd in Engeland, gedurende een periode van 3 jaar in Avon en gedurende een periode van 2 jaar in Warwickshire, werd na behandeling van zomergerst met ethirimol of triadimenol een verminderde gevoeligheid van meeldauw voor deze fungiciden waargenomen.Behandelingen met mengsels van ethirimol-triadimenol of tridemorf-triadimenol gaven weinig tot geen verminderde gevoeligheid. Op één proefveld trad van het ene op het andere seizoen een aanzienlijke verandering in de gevoeligheid voor de fungiciden op. Er was geen duidelijke correlatie tussen de waargenomen verminderde gevoeligheid voor de fungiciden en de gebruikte cultivars of voorkomende fysio's. Verminderde gevoeligheid voor de fungiciden werd zowel bij zaadbehandeling als bij het bespuiten van planten waargenomen.  相似文献

Fifteen powdery mildew resistance genes and the gene MlaN81 derived from ‘Nepal 81’were found in 76 Czech and Slovak spring and winter barley cultivars when tested for reaction to a set of powdery mildew isolates. Nine cultivars (‘Donum’, ‘Expres’, ‘Jubilant’, ‘Orbit’, ‘Primus’, ‘Progres’, ‘Stabil’, ‘Vladan’ and ‘Zlatan’) are composed of lines with different resistance genes. The Mlat gene is present in nine cultivars and was transferred from the Anatolian landrace ‘A‐516′. The resistances derived from ‘KM‐1192’and ‘CI 7672’were identical and designated Ml(Kr). Five winter barley cultivars possess the Ml(Bw) resistance. The winter barley line ‘KM‐2099’carries the mlo gene. The parental cultivar ‘Palestine 10’was also tested in which the genes Mlk1, MlLa were identified. The German cultivar ‘Salome’, a parent of seven cultivars tested, probably carries the gene MlLa in addition to mlo and Mla7. The gene mlo6 may be present in the cultivar ‘Heris’. Most of the results were confirmed by the pedigrees of the cultivars.  相似文献

Powdery mildew is the most common disease of barley in the Czech Republic and winter barley plays a crucial role in the winter survival and reproduction of the pathogen. This study was aimed at identifying resistance genes in winter barley cultivars grown in the Czech Republic from 1971 to 2005 by using the method of postulation. Forty-one cultivars and a parental line were tested at the seedling stage for their reaction to 32 selected isolates of Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei . In total, 26 resistance spectra were detected and the following 18 resistance genes were found: Mla6 , Mla7 , Mla8 , Mla13 , Mla14 , MlaMu2 , MlaNo3 , MlaRu4 , Mlg , Mlh , MlLa , Mlra , Ml ( Bw ), Ml ( Ch ), Ml ( Dr2 ), Ml ( Dt5 ), Ml ( IM9 ) and Ml ( St ). Two cultivars ('Kiruna' and 'Sorna') exhibited heterogeneity for mildew resistance. Another source of Mla13 and a possible centre of origin of Ml ( Bw ) are discussed.  相似文献

为明确小麦白粉病抗性基因在山西省的有效性,在温室条件下,通过闭囊壳释放子囊孢子侵染麦苗发病,利用28个已知抗病基因品种(系)对分离自山西省不同生态区的166个小麦白粉病菌株进行了毒性基因频率测定.结果表明,毒性基因V4a、V4b、V13、V20、V21、VXBD、V2+6、V4+8、V2+Mli、V4b+Mli、V5+6、V1+2+9的出现频率为3.6%~29.7%,其对应抗性基因Pm4a、Pm4b、Pm13、Pm20、Pm21、PmXBD、Pm2+6、Pm4+8、Pm2+Mli、Pm4b+Mli、Pm5+6、Pm1+2+9为目前山西省小麦白粉病菌的有效抗病基因,可供转育利用;毒性基因V1、V2、V3a、V3d、V3f、V6、V17、V19、V2+Ta的出现频率为38.6%~79.4%,其对应抗性基因Pm1、Pm2、Pm3a、Pm3d、Pm3f、Pm6、Pm17、Pm19、Pm2+Ta的利用价值已下降;毒性基因V3b、V3c、V3e、V5、V7、V8的出现频率为92.5%~98.7%,其对应抗性基因Pm3b、Pm3c、Pm3e、Pm5、Pm7、Pm8单独使用无利用价值.对各抗性基因在山西省小麦三个生态区的有效性差异分析认为,各生态区应针对毒性基因的变化动态结合农艺性状选择选用合适的抗性基因进行转育.  相似文献
