The olive fruit fly, Bactrocera oleae (Rossi), is the major olive pest in the Mediterranean Basin, being responsible for high losses in olive production. The objective of this work was to study the influence of B. oleae infestation on the pomological parameters and nutritive value (lipids, proteins, carbohydrates and ash) of eight olive cultivars (Abani, Aellah, Blanquette de Guelma, Chemlal, Ferkani, Limli, Rougette de Mitidja and Souidi) from Algeria. The results displayed different degrees of susceptibility of the studied cultivars to this pest. Fruit size (weight) and the Fruit weight / stone weight ratio are significantly correlated with the attack. The statistical treatment of the results (PCA and HAC) highlighted different behaviors from the cultivars, concerning the attack. There are some cultivars more susceptible, being the nutritional value also affected. The lipid and protein contents were positively correlated with the attack and the carbohydrates negatively, suggesting a careful choice by the B. oleae. Ovipositional preference of olive fruit fly females and the success of larval development in different olive cultivars are crucial to establishing new approaches in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) against this pest.  相似文献

DNA sequences of nuclear gene Got2 was studied in 60 accessions of Aegilops tauschii, 29 of subsp. tauschii and 31 of subsp. strangulata. It was found that Got2 allozyme polymorphism in Ae. tauschii is due to a single, unique, mutation which led to replacement of glutamic acid by isoleucine in residue 256 of the enzyme molecule, encoded by Got2. As revealed by Got2 DNA sequences variation, initially in its history Ae. tauschii was presented by subsp. strangulata, and among phylogenetic lineages of subsp. strangulata, the lineage “t-91s” (TauL3) is the most ancient, a relict one. Subspecies tauschii is relatively “young”. Initially it was presented by the lineage marked by combination of allozyme alleles Got2 105 and Acph1 100. In the past it inhabited the Continental area from Caucasia to Pakistan, but later on it was forced out by newly originated, now—a major lineage of subsp. tauschii, marked by Got2 100. This lineage extended the Continental area of the species up to Kirgizstan, but actually failed to penetrate into pre-Caspian area, occupied by subsp. strangulata. These results essentially differ from those obtained previously, using chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) sequences polymorphism. As revealed by cpDNA, the major, “usual”, subsp. strangulata (TauL2) is “younger” than subsp. tauschii, which resided on phylogenetic tree between relict lineage “t-91s”of subsp. strangulata—and major subsp. strangulata. But both cpDNA and Got2 DNA sequences indicate that the level of genetic variation in subsp. tauschii is much lower than in subsp. strangulata. According to Got2 DNA sequences variation, it was Ae. tauschii subsp. strangulata lineage “k-109″ which donated genome D to Triticum aestivum L. This lineage includes accessions: k-109 from South-Eastern Precaspian Azerbaijan; KU-2105, KU-2159 from Western Precaspian Iran; KU-2080 from Eastern Precaspian Iran.  相似文献

Ascochyta blight causes significant yield loss in pulse crops worldwide. Integrated disease management is essential to take advantage of cultivars with partial resistance to this disease. The most effective practices, established by decades of research, use a combination of disease-free seed, destruction or avoidance of inoculum sources, manipulation of sowing dates, seed and foliar fungicides, and cultivars with improved resistance. An understanding of the pathosystems and the inter-relationship between host, pathogen and the environment is essential to be able to make correct decisions for disease control without compromising the agronomic or economic ideal. For individual pathosystems, some components of the integrated management principles may need to be given greater consideration than others. For instance, destruction of infested residue may be incompatible with no or minimum tillage practices, or rotation intervals may need to be extended in environments that slow the speed of residue decomposition. For ascochyta-susceptible chickpeas the use of disease-free seed, or seed treatments, is crucial as seed-borne infection is highly effective as primary inoculum and epidemics develop rapidly from foci in favourable conditions. Implemented fungicide strategies differ according to cultivar resistance and the control efficacy of fungicides, and the effectiveness of genetic resistance varies according to seasonal conditions. Studies are being undertaken to develop advanced decision support tools to assist growers in making more informed decisions regarding fungicide and agronomic practices for disease control.  相似文献

The splenic lobe (Lobus splenicus) of the pancreas of young meat-type quails (Coturnix c. japonica) was examined by immunohistochemical and light microscopic methods. The endocrine cells are mainly grouped as alpha, beta and mixed islets. A large region consisting of alpha cells is located in the central region of the splenic lobe whereas numerous beta islets are detected in the periphery of the splenic lobe. Alpha islets are in the majority composed of toluidine blue positive A cells and a few toluidine blue negative D and / or avian pancreatic polypeptide (APP) endocrine cells. Beta islets contain only a few toluidine blue negative B and a few D cells. Immunohistochemical staining of the splenic lobe reveal in the centre of beta islets numerous insulin immunoreactive cells and scarcely in alpha islets, exocrine tissue and / or among acinar cells. Somatostatin immune-reactive cells form a circular layer in the periphery of beta islets whereas these cells are uniformly distributed throughout the alpha islet parenchyma and exocrine tissue. In conclusion, the morphology but also the endo- and exocrine functions of the splenic lobe of quails are similar to observations in other avian species such as chicken, duck, goose and pigeon.  相似文献

The impacts of blanket peatland management on water tables, near‐surface macropore flow and saturated hydraulic conductivity were investigated using automated dipwells and mini‐disc tension infiltrometers. Three neighbouring hillslopes which were undisturbed, drained and restored by drain blocking were studied. Mean water table depths at the undisturbed sites were slightly shallower than at the restored site and water tables at both sites were significantly shallower relative to the drained treatment. Through time, however, the water table at the restored treatment behaved in a markedly different way to that at the undisturbed site. Water tables reached the peat surface for only 2% of the time for the drained and restored treatments compared to 18% for the undisturbed treatment. The proportion of runoff flowing through macropores in the near‐surface layers of the peat was found to be large (≥60%) across all three treatments, yet functional macroporosity was found to be significantly greater in the undisturbed peat relative to the two other treatments. Meanwhile, saturated hydraulic conductivity was found to be significantly higher at the restored treatment relative to the two other treatments, with mean conductivities ca. 1.5 times greater, suggesting a form of heightened soil–water interaction. Combined, the results indicate that although restoration by ditch blocking may result in a relatively successful water table recovery, there may not be the full reinstatement of peatland hydrological processes.  相似文献

Triticum urartu is a wild diploid wheat identified as donor of the A genome in the durum and bread wheats. This species has its natural distribution zone in the Fertile Crescent. Nine populations from this zone (five Lebanese and four Turkish) were analysed for the variation in the loci coding of endosperm storage proteins: glutenins (Glu-A u 1 and Glu-A u 3) and gliadins (Gli-A u 1 and Gli-A u 2). Up to 10 alleles for the Glu-A u 1 locus, 16 for the Glu-A u 3 locus, 15 for the Gli-A u 1 locus and 18 for the Gli-A u 2 locus were found. The Turkish populations showed greater diversity than the Lebanese populations, distributing mainly within populations, whereas the inverse process takes place for the Lebanese populations. The values of the genetic diversity indicated that, although these materials showed high level of variability, exist a real risk of genetic erosion.  相似文献

The volcanic soils of Kamchatka are characterized by low and very low values of their potential potassium buffer capacity. The largest amount of readily exchangeable potassium (-ΔK 0) is observed in the surface layers of the natural soils and is due to the active biogenic accumulation. The soddy horizons have a high content of strongly fixed potassium (K X ). The main factors determining the content of the labile potassium and its mobility are the contents of physical clay, humus, and exchangeable potassium. The extremely nonuniform distribution of all the potassium status parameters throughout the soil profile reflects the discrete character of the volcanic pedogenesis. The low values of the potential buffer capacity for the potassium (PBCK) at the high values of the equilibrium potassium potential (AR 0) and the medium content of the labile potassium in the light-textured synlithogenic soils simultaneously indicate both the good potassium supply of the plants and the incapability of the soils to resist potassium exhaustion under agricultural production conditions for a long time.  相似文献
