A study was carried out to evaluate the influence of vitamin and trace mineral supplementation on milk production and composition
in grazing dairy ewes during the dry season. Ewes (n = 50) were assigned at weaning to blocks and treatments. Ewes were daily conducted (8 h/day) on a pasture based on Italian
ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum). At fold, ewes received a basal diet composed by ad libitum oat hay and a definite amount of a pelleted concentrate. Dietary
treatments included: (1) the control concentrate containing background of vitamin and trace mineral only, and (2) the experimental
concentrate containing the premix supplement (10 g/kg of dry matter). Vitamin and trace mineral supplementation did not affect
ewes’ body weight. Milk, fat- and protein-corrected milk, fat percentage, and clotting properties were improved in ewes fed
supplemented concentrate. There was a week × treatment interaction (P < 0.05) for yield of milk and corrected milk that was greatest at peak production in ewes fed the premix. Our findings indicate
that in grazing dairy ewe, the dietary vitamin and trace mineral supplementation during dry season led to an increase of milk

The aim of this work is to study three soil solarizing film's (EVA, COE and BIO) effects on microbial biomass and their respiration activities and beside on some agronomic traits of tomato and melon as subsequent vegetable crop cultivation on solarized soil. The responses are that the used films increased different temperature levels in the soil; in fact, in the upper soil depth, BIO film, during the 37 days of solarization treatments, reached 137 h in which the recorded temperatures went over 60 °C, followed by EVA film with 80 h and COE film with 60 h affecting variously the thermic regime. The used films had great effects on all microbiological (MBC and MBN) and enzymatic parameters (alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase, β-glucosidase and arilsulphatase). Furthermore, the variation of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne javanica) on tomato and melon roots were assessed and some qualitative and yield traits of both vegetable crops were also reported as affected by soil solarization treatments. In all cases the BIO film has showed comparable yield results with EVA and COE films, with the advantage that it is compatible for a more sustainable agriculture practice. 相似文献

Group A rotaviruses with G2 and G9 VP7 specificity are common in humans, while G11 strains have been detected only sporadically. G2, G9 and G11 rotaviruses also circulate in pigs and swine rotaviruses have been suspected of interspecies and zoonotic transmissions in numerous studies. However, the complete gene constellation of G2 and G9 porcine rotaviruses has not yet been determined. In order to start filling this gap, the genomic make up of two G2, one G9 and one G11 porcine rotavirus strains, detected in Canada in 2005–2007, was determined. With the exception of a G2P[34] strain, with E9 NSP4 type and mixed I5 + I14 VP6 type, the constellation of genomic segments was rather conserved and were closely related to prototype porcine strains in the four viruses characterized (I5-R1-C1-M1-A8-N1-T7-E1-H1). Most notably, all the viruses displayed a rare NSP3 genotype, T7, which has also been identified in rare human reassortant strains and in the reference strain RVA/Cow-tc/GBR/UK/1973/G6P[5]. This study provides crucial genetic data on these complex viruses and will help understand the origin and ecological niche of gene segments and the role played by pigs in their evolution. 相似文献

A pantropic canine coronavirus (CCoV) strain (CB/05) has been recently associated to a fatal outbreak of systemic disease in young dogs. We report the clinical, virological and serological findings in dogs experimentally infected with strain CB/05. The dogs, three 2.5-month-old and two 6-month-old pups, were successfully infected, shedding viral RNA with their faeces for the entire observation period (21 days) and displaying systemic clinical signs resembling those observed during the course of natural infection. Leucopenia (acute lymphopenia) occurred in all infected dogs, with values dropping below 60% of the initial counts. Considering the severity of the CB/05-induced disease, two of the youngest pups were euthanized for ethical reasons at days 8-9 postinfection, whereas the other pups underwent a slow but progressive improvement of their clinical status with complete recovery. At postmortem examination, remarkable lesions were observed in the internal organs of the euthanized pups, that tested positive for CCoV by real-time RT-PCR and virus isolation on cell cultures. All pups seroconverted for CCoV, as shown by the high optical density values and antibody titres detected by ELISA and virusneutralisation tests, respectively. The present study confirms that strain CB/05 is highly pathogenic for dogs, being able to induce a severe disease (and in some cases the death) even in experimental conditions. 相似文献

To evaluate the pharmacokinetics of two doses of tramadol during isoflurane anaesthesia in sheep and their ability to prevent the cardiovascular response induced by surgical stimulation.Study design
Prospective randomized controlled study.Animals
A total of 12 healthy sheep (mean weight, 47.5 ± 7.9 kg) undergoing lumbar transpedicular intervertebral disk nucleotomy.Methods
Sheep were sedated with medetomidine, anaesthesia was induced with propofol and maintained with isoflurane at 1.5 vol.%. Baseline heart rate and blood pressure were measured and sheep were randomly assigned an intravenous injection of tramadol (4 or 6 mg kg?1). Fentanyl was injected as rescue analgesic if cardiovascular parameters were increased more than 20% compared to baseline. If those variables were below 20% of baseline, the concentration of isoflurane was gradually decreased until parameters returned to the original value. Blood collections were performed at pre-assigned times, and concentrations of tramadol and O-desmethyltramadol (M1) assessed by high-performance liquid chromatography.Results
Time from premedication to anaesthesia induction, anaesthesia time, propofol dose and intraoperative body temperature were similar between doses. Cardiovascular variables remained between ±20% of baseline value, and no statistical difference was observed between treatments. Regardless of the dose of tramadol administered, arterial blood pressure was statistically higher than baseline 10 minutes after tramadol administration, but it gradually returned to previous values. A two-compartment model and a non-compartment model described the pharmacokinetics of tramadol and M1, respectively. Plasma concentrations of tramadol rapidly decreased in the first 2 hours for both doses with an elimination half-life of more than 40 minutes. The M1 maximum concentration was similar for both doses, and it was detected in plasma after 35 minutes.Conclusions and clinical relevance
Both doses of tramadol provided adequate cardiovascular stability during spinal surgery in sheep. The pharmacokinetic variables may be used to plan the dosage regime during general anaesthesia. 相似文献76.

The genome of Brucella melitensis strain 16M was sequenced and contained 3,294,931 bp distributed over two circular chromosomes. Chromosome I was composed of 2,117,144 bp and chromosome II has 1,177,787 bp. A total of 3198 ORFs were predicted. The origins of replication of the chromosomes are similar to each other and to those of other α-proteobacteria. Housekeeping genes such as those that encode for DNA replication, protein synthesis, core metabolism, and cell-wall biosynthesis were found on both chromosomes. The authors report the sequence analysis of the capsid protein-encoding gene (ORF2) of a calicivirus strain recently isolated in Italy from a pup with enteritis. Sequence comparison and phylogenetic analysis revealed that the isolate is highly similar to field and reference feline caliciviruses (FCVs). The isolation of a feline-like calicivirus and the results of recent serological investigations suggest that FCV infection frequently occurs in dogs, but the consequences of this interspecies infection in the canine host are still unknown. 相似文献

Summary Pollen from four male pistachio (Pistacia vera L.) clones was stored at –196°C and –20°C for up to 12 months and tested for ability to germinate in vitro following a period of hydration at high humidity. Germination of fresh pollen was high (>80%) for each clone. At –196°C, pollen of cv. Peters survived freezing, storage and thawing with no loss of germinability; pollen of the other three clones had sharp declines in germination possibly attributable to cellular lesions incurred during freezing or thawing. When the relative humidity of the –20°C storage environment was maintained at or near 33%, Peters pollen had high rate of germination through 12 months storage. Without control of relative humidity, Peters pollen germination was high at 4 months, but declined at 12 months. Germination requirements became more exacting for pollen stored at –20°C for 12 months at suboptimal humidity conditions. Pollen of the other three clones did not tolerate storage at –20°C as well as Peters pollen regardless of the storage humidity environment. 相似文献

The proteomes of selected Brucella spp. have been extensively analyzed by utilizing current proteomic technology involving 2-DE and MALDI-MS. In Brucella melitensis, more than 500 proteins were identified. The rapid and large-scale identification of proteins in this organism was accomplished by using the annotated B. melitensis genome which is now available in the GenBank. Coupled with new and powerful tools for data analysis, differentially expressed proteins were identified and categorized into several classes. A global overview of protein expression patterns emerged, thereby facilitating the simultaneous analysis of different metabolic pathways in B. melitensis. Such a global characterization would not have been possible by using time consuming and traditional biochemical approaches. The era of post-genomic technology offers new and exciting opportunities to understand the complete biology of different Brucella species. 相似文献
