Secondary ion mass spectrometry measurements show that Earth's representative lower mantle minerals synthesized in a natural peridotitic composition can dissolve considerable amounts of hydrogen. Both MgSiO3-rich perovskite and magnesiowüstite contain about 0.2 weight percent (wt%) H2O, and CaSiO3-rich perovskite contains about 0.4 wt% H2O. The OH absorption bands in Mg-perovskite and magnesiowüstite were also confirmed with the use of infrared microspectroscopic measurements. Earth's lower mantle may store about five times more H2O than the oceans.  相似文献

A high-pressure phase of TiO(2), which had been observed by shock-wave experiments and remained unresolved, has been studied by in situ x-ray diffraction. The single phase was formed at 20 gigapascals and 770 degrees C with the use of sintered-diamond multianvils; it has the same structure as baddeleyite, the stable phase of ZrO(2) at ambient conditions. The coordination number of Ti increases from six to seven across the rutile to baddeleyite transition, and the volume is reduced by approximately 9 percent.  相似文献

The 18S rRNA genes of Theileria species detected in sika deer, Cervus nippon centralis in Yamaguchi and Cervus nippon yesoensis in Hokkaido, were analyzed. The percent identities of the nucleotide sequences of Theileria from Cervus nippon centralis and Cervus nippon yesoensis were more than 99%. The percent identities of the Theileria sp. from sika deer and Theileria sergenti, Theileria buffeli and Theileria cervi were 97, 96 and 95%, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis of the gene sequences also revealed that Theileria sp. detected from sika deer comprise a clade that is clearly distinct from the clade comprised of Theileria from cattle.  相似文献

This study describes the quantification of cytokine expression of vaccinated water buffaloes with FMD inactivated vaccine. Using real-time PCR quantification assay, expression of Th1 (IL-2, IL-12p40, IFNγ); Th2 (IL-4, IL-10) and inflammatory (IL-6, TNFα) cytokines were quantified weekly for the entire three-week duration of the experiment. It was noted that IFNγ, IL-10 and TNFα had peaked on week three post-vaccination while the remaining cytokines peaked on the second week and decreased by the third week. The counteraction between IFNγ and IL-4 was noted as well as the possible suppressive action of IL-10 to that of IL-2 and IL-12, which is a common phenomenon between Th1 and Th2 cytokines. Synergy between TNFa and IL-6 was also observed. These findings suggest that within the immune system of water buffalo there is a dynamic cell-mediated and humoral interaction in response to immunogen. This assessment of the cytokine expressions is vital for the study of water buffalo disease progression and concurring protective immune responses.  相似文献

To study the behavior of histamine-producing bacteria during the processing and storage of shimesaba, we inoculated histamine-producing bacteria into raw mackerel and then evaluated bacterial counts and histamine content at each shimesaba processing step. Six histamine-producing bacteria—Morganella morganii, Enterobacter aerogenes, Raoultella planticola, Photobacterium damselae (2 strains), and Photobacterium phosphoreum—were inoculated onto the surface of mackerel fillets at various cell densities (no inoculation, 104, and 10cfu ml?1). The fillets were then treated according to the common procedure used for processing shimesaba. The concentration of NaCl in brine during the salting procedure was 10 % (w/v), and the main ingredients of the marinade broth were 27 % vinegar, 3.8 % sucrose, 0.3 % sodium glutamate, and 0.1 % sodium succinate. The level of histamine-producing bacteria and of histamine did not increase during the salting and marinating procedures. However, during the storage tests, histamine content increased remarkably in the shimesaba products stored at 10 °C for 3 days, and organoleptical degradation was also observed. However, significant deterioration, based on bacterial count, histamine content, and organoleptic evaluation, was not observed in samples stored at 5 °C. These results indicate that the use of traditional marinade broth during the processing of shimesaba and storage below 5 °C are effective methods for preventing histamine accumulation.  相似文献

To evaluate the efficacy of clinical staging based on computed tomography (CT) imaging over the World Health Organization (WHO) staging system based on radiography for nasal tumors in dogs, a retrospective study was conducted. This study used 112 dogs that had nasal tumors; they had undergone radiography and CT and had been histologically confirmed as having nasal tumors. Among 112 dogs, 85 (75.9%) were diagnosed as adenocarcinoma. Then they were analyzed for survival time according to each staging system. More than 70% of the patients with adenocarcinoma were classified as having WHO stage III. The patients classified under WHO stage II tended to survive longer than those classified under WHO stage III. Dogs classified under WHO stage III were further grouped into CT stages III and IV, and CT stage III patients had a significantly longer survival time than CT stage IV patients. In addition, patients treated with a combination of surgery and radiation had a significantly longer survival time than the patients who did not receive any treatment in CT stage III. On the other hand, different treatment modalities did not show a significant difference in the survival time of CT stage IV dogs. The results suggest that WHO stage III dogs may have various levels of tumor progression, indicating that the CT staging system may be more accurate than the WHO staging system.  相似文献
