In this study, eight maize recombinant inbred lines were selected to assess both the impact of lignin structure and the impact of cell wall reticulation by p-hydroxycinnamic acids on cell wall degradability independently of the main "lignin content" factor. These recombinant lines and their parents were analyzed for in vitro degradability, cell wall residue content, esterified and etherified p-hydroxycinnamic acid content, and lignin content and structure. Lignin structure and esterified p-coumaric acid content showed significantly high correlation with in vitro degradability (r=-0.82 and r=-0.72, respectively). A multiple regression analysis showed that more than 80% of cell wall degradability variations within these 10 lines (eight recombinant inbred lines and their two parents) were explained by a regression model including two main explanatory factors: lignin content and estimated proportion of syringyl lignin units esterified by p-coumaric acid. This study revealed new biochemical parameters of interest to improve cell wall degradability and promote lignocellulose valorization.  相似文献

Serum concentrations of chlortetracycline (CTC) in healthy chickens were determined for the 24-hour period after they were given CTC (with and without citric acid) as an oral (25 mg/kg) or IV (0.9 mg/kg) dose. The oral time-course drug data were fitted adequately by a 2-compartment pharmacokinetic model with absorption. The resulting absorption rate constant (Ka) for the birds orally given CTC with citric acid was nearly equal to that for the birds given CTC alone. Although the uptake of orally administered CTC was rapid, only a small fraction of the dose was absorbed. The administration of citric acid-CTC significantly increased the mean serum concentration of CTC and the fraction of the dose absorbed. The citric acid-CTC mixture also produced significantly higher elimination (Kel) and distribution (K12) rate constants for CTC.  相似文献

An improved method for the measurement of fructans in wheat grains is presented. A mild acid treatment is used for fructan hydrolysis, followed by analysis of the released glucose and fructose with high performance anion exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection (HPAEC-PAD). Not only the amount of fructose set free from fructans but also the released glucose can be quantified accurately, allowing determination of the average degree of polymerization of fructans (DP(av)). Application of the mild acid treatment to different grain samples demonstrated that a correction should be made for the presence of sucrose and raffinose, but not for stachyose or higher raffinose oligosaccharides. The fructan content and DP(av) of spelt flour, wheat flour, and whole wheat flour were 0.6%, 1.2%, and 1.8% of the total weight and 4, 5, and 6, respectively. Validation experiments demonstrate that the proposed quantification method is accurate and repeatable and that also the DP(av) determination is precise.  相似文献

Two controlled studies were conducted to evaluate the persistent efficacy of moxidectin (10%) long-acting (LA) injectable formulation against Dictyocaulus viviparus, Haemonchus placei, Trichostrongylus axei and Oesophagostomum radiatum in cattle. The moxidectin LA injectable formulation was administered as a single subcutaneous injection into the proximal third of the ear at a dose rate of 0.01 ml/kg BW to provide 1.0 mg moxidectin/kg BW. The product had persistent efficacy of >90% against D. viviparus, H. placei and Oe. radiatum for at least 150 days post-treatment and against T. axei for at least 90 days post-treatment.  相似文献

From June to December, we determined the effects of variations in biochemical composition on delta(13)C of tree rings of 2-year-old oaks (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) growing under semi-natural conditions, and the dependence of these effects of water stress during the growth season. Percent abundance, carbon concentration and delta(13)C were measured in holocellulose, lignin, extractive-free wood, starch and a water-soluble fraction. Relative concentrations of lignin and holocellulose in the extractive-free wood varied little during the season or in response to water stress, indicating that these compounds could not quantitatively explain the variations in whole-wood delta(13)C. Among all sampled tree rings, the relative concentration of each structural compound (holocellulose and lignin) accounted for less than 5% of the delta(13)C variability in whole wood. Variations in holocellulose and extractive-free wood delta(13)C between tree rings were almost identical (r > 0.95), whereas variations in lignin delta(13)C were less well correlated to these compounds. Whole-wood delta(13)C had a slightly altered isotopic signal compared with that of the structural compounds because of the presence of the extractive component. These results showed that variations in lignin delta(13)C and lignin concentration have little influence on extractive-free wood delta(13)C and whole-wood delta(13)C. Rather, holocellulose influences delta(13)C the most. Thus, we confirmed that, for climatic reconstruction from tree rings, removal of extractives by soxhlet is generally sufficient and sometimes unnecessary. Our findings also indicate that, in the case of rapid and severe water stress, the structural component did not accurately record the associated increase in delta(13)C because of dilution with previously formed organic matter and cessation of trunk growth. The effect of drought on carbon isotope ratios was more pronounced in the extractive compounds, making them good water stress indicators but only on a scale of days to months.  相似文献

Reducing energy use in greenhouses contributes to the profitability of horticulture. Important energy savings can be realized through the use of temperature integration. However, such a greenhouse heating strategy is only acceptable for commercial purposes if there are no adverse effects on plant growth and quality. During this 3-month study, Hedera helix ‘Green Ripple’ and H. helix ‘Shamrock’ were subjected to a day/night temperature regime of 20/20 °C (control) and two treatments with temperature integration over 24 h and 4 d, respectively, based on a DIF of 13.5 °C, maintaining the average temperature at the same level of the control. Temperature treatments resulted in a promotion of stem elongation. After 3 months, shoot length rose up to maximum 37.3% when temperature integration was applied. However, temperature integration reduced total dry weight and particularly root dry weight was negatively affected. In addition, assessments of relative growth rate, shoot extension rate, specific leaf area, total leaf area and pigment concentrations were performed and it was concluded that dynamic temperature regimes with longer integration periods support commercial production of English ivy.  相似文献

In this study, the angular transmittances over the photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) range of two types of glass (single glass (SG) and low emissivity glass (LEG)) and three types of plastic films (low density polyethylene (LDPE), anti-drop condensation polyethylene (ADCPE) and photoselective diffusive polyethylene (DPE)) were determined experimentally in the laboratory. The measurements were performed on dry as well as on condensate covered materials, since condensate frequently occurs on a greenhouse cladding material. Based on the angular measurements, the transmittance of diffuse PAR incident on a 25° inclined slab was calculated. For the dry state, it was found that the PAR transmittance decreased with increasing photoselectivity of the materials. When covered with condensate, the PAR transmittance of the glass plates was only reduced at incidence angles higher than 15° by at most 20% on a relative scale, while the transmittance of non-anti-drop condensation films was especially reduced at small angles of incidence by at most 25%. Due to the addition of anti-drop condensation agents to a plastic film, the PAR transmittance of the film was not affected by the condensate and, therefore, showed the highest PAR transmittance in the wet state. For the photoselective cladding materials, the spectral dependency of the transmittance was only slightly changed by the condensate.  相似文献

The mechanisms whereby insulin increases diacylglycerol in BC3H-1 myocytes were examined. When [3H]arachidonate labeling of phospholipids was used as an indicator of phospholipase C activation, transient increases in [3H]diacylglycerol were observed between 0.5 and 10 minutes after the onset of insulin treatment. With [3H]glycerol labeling as an indicator of de novo phospholipid synthesis, [3H]diacylglycerol was increased maximally at 1 minute and remained elevated for 20 minutes. [3H]Glycerol-labeled diacylglycerol was largely derived directly from phosphatidic acid. Insulin increased de novo phosphatidic acid synthesis within 5 to 10 seconds; within 1 minute, this synthesis was 60 times greater than that of controls. Thus, the initial increase in diacylglycerol is due to both increased hydrolysis of phospholipids and a burst of de novo phosphatidic acid synthesis. After 5 to 10 minutes, de novo phosphatidic acid synthesis continues as a major source of diacylglycerol. Both phospholipid effects of insulin seem important for generating diacylglycerol and other phospholipid-derived intracellular signaling substances.  相似文献
