Reference evapotranspiration (ET0) can be estimated on basis of pan evaporation data (Epan), whose measurements have the advantage of low cost, simplicity of the measuring equipment, simple data interpretation and application as well as suitability for locations with limited availability of meteorological data. Epan values were converted to ET0 using the pan evaporation coefficient (Kpan). In this study, seven common Kpan equations were evaluated for prediction of ET0 in the growing season (April to October) in arid region of Iran. The Cuenca approach was best suited compared to the standard FAO Penman–Monteith method (FAO-56 PM).  相似文献

At abandoned mine sites, arsenic (As)- and antimony (Sb)-enriched soils are often disposed of through onsite burial or capping. In highly weathered mine sites, the mobility of As and Sb is typically controlled by iron (Fe)(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ) phases; thus, the suitability of such disposal methods and appropriate testing techniques are questionable. In the present study, leaching potentials of As and Sb were examined using the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP), waste extraction test (WET), and WET-extended procedure (WET-EXT) at three abandoned mine site soils in Australia. The leached concentration of As regularly exceeded USEPA criteria (5 mg L-1). The highest leached concentrations of As and Sb were observed in the finest particle size fraction (< 0.053 mm) by WET-EXT (1 040 mg L-1 for As and 21.10 mg L-1 for Sb) followed by WET (800 mg L-1 for As and 20.90 mg L-1 for Sb). The TCLP method resulted in the lowest concentrations of leached As (0.000 9 mg L-1) and Sb (0.000 3 mg L-1). Crystalline and amorphous As-bearing Fe oxides were the main phases in the soils studied. However, the best correlations of leached As determined by TCLP (0.832), WET (0.944), and WET-EXT (0.961) were found with the non-specifically sorbed (NS1) As fraction. The mineralogical and sequential extraction data clearly indicate the dominant role of Fe geochemistry in controlling leachability of As and Sb. The TCLP method was unlikely to be suitable for assessing leachability, as it exhibited no relationship with leachable Fe and substantially lower leached As and Sb than the other two methods. Given the high to extremely high leachable As and Sb concentrations, most of the soil samples would not be recommended for placement in capping works, old shafts, or reduction systems (e.g., collection in drainage basins).  相似文献

Changing climatic conditions in north-western Europe are accompanied by occasional extreme weather conditions. This requires breeding of winter oilseed rape cultivars which are resilient to diverse abiotic stress factors, e.g. frost, drought and heat. The degree of vernalization requirement of winter oilseed rape has been found to be related to frost tolerance and winter hardiness. Shoot elongation before winter in particular has been identified as one decisive factor for frost tolerance in winter oilseed rape. However, the relationship between vernalization requirement and shoot elongation before winter is not known. In the present study the genetic variation for shoot elongation before winter and vernalization requirement of 19 genetic diverse breeding lines and cultivars were analyzed. Autumn and spring sown field experiments in multiple environments were performed to determine shoot elongation before winter and vernalization requirement, respectively. In spring sown field experiments, genotypes with a low vernalization requirement were characterized by the occurrence of long bolting plants with flower buds. Large and significant genotypic variation was found for shoot length in the autumn sown and spring sown environment. Broad sense heritability was quite high for shoot length in the spring sown environment (h2?=?97%), whereas it was only of medium size for shoot length before winter (h2?=?62%). Although the correlation between shoot length before winter and shoot length in the spring sown environment was positive (Spearman’s rank rS?=?0.48*), a number of genotypes with reduced shoot elongation before winter and low vernalization requirement were identified. Results indicate that genotypes with a reduced shoot elongation before winter independent of their vernalization requirement can be selected in breeding programs.  相似文献

We report a facile approach to fabrication and characterization of cationic titanium dioxide (TiO2+) on poly (vinyl alcohol)/poly (acrylic acid) (PVA/PAA) composite electro-spun nanofibrous mat. The aim of this study is to develop a “functional electrospun nanofibrous mat” as a sustainable approach to superior photocatalytic degradation of organic colorants. For that, the PVA/PAA nanofibrous mat was prepared by electrospinning of PVA and PAA solution according to an aspect ratio of 1:1 and later water stability was induced by the thermal cross linking at an elevated temperature of 145 °C for 30 minute. By means of electrostatic layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly, cationic titanium dioxide (TiO2+, ~19 nm) was immobilized on the surface of the water stable nanofibrous mat. As functionalized composited nanofibrous mat was characterized by using scanning electron microscope (SEM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Superior competency of the functionalized nanofibrous mat towards photocatalytic degradation of organic dye (methyl blue) in aqueous solution was observed by using UV-visible spectrophotometer with quantitative measuring method. The result indicates a complete degradation of methyl blue within 40 mins and superior reusability upto 5 cycles application. The study signifies the prospect of using electrospun nanofibers to manipulate the catalytic activity, which could be a foundation for further rational design of various composite nanofibrous materials.  相似文献

Thermal and oxidation resistant coating is necessary for carbon fiber (CF) in CF reinforced concrete (CFRC) composite application in order to fulfil a high level of safety standard in case of fire. Pre-ceramic coatings such as Polysilazane, Polysiloxane, and Methyl silicone resin have been deposited on CF filament yarn by means of wet chemical continuous dip coating method. The surface analyses e.g. scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and infrared spectroscopy (IR) results showed the changes of surface morphology by the coatings. Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) revealed that the high temperature (up to 800 °C) oxidation stability of CF was significantly improved with coatings. Thermo-mechanical properties also significantly enhanced up to 600 °C. CF yarn retains its original strength and elasticity modulus/stiffness at 700 °C due to thermal and oxidation resistant coatings.  相似文献
