Tomato is the most economically important fruit/vegetable crop grown worldwide. However, viral diseases remain an important factor limiting its productivity, with estimated quantitative and qualitative yield losses in tomato crops often reaching up to 100%. Many viruses infecting tomato have been reported, while new viral diseases have also emerged. The climatic changes the world is experiencing can be a contributing factor to the successful spread of newly emerging viruses, as well as the establishment of disease in areas that were previously either unfavourable or where the disease was absent. Because antiviral products are not available, strategies to mitigate viral diseases rely on genetic resistance/tolerance to infection, control of vectors, improvement in crop hygiene, roguing of infected plants and seed certification. Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) is an emerging viral threat to tomato productivity and is currently spreading into new areas, which is of great concern to the growing global production in the absence of mitigation measures. This review presents the current knowledge about ToBRFV and future prospects for an improved understanding of the virus, which will be needed to support effective control and mitigation of the impact it is likely to cause.  相似文献

Abstract. Measurements taken from a series of photographs of otoliths of 37 eels caught in a medium-sized (3219 ha) eutrophic lake in northern Poland were used to prepare a growth curve based on back-calculated measurements. Values of L= 1086 mm; K = 0.048 and mean annual increment = 40.7 mm were determined. A comparison was made of eel growth within its whole range of occurrence.  相似文献

The effect of diniconazole, an inhibitor of cytochrome P450, on drought tolerance was examined in ‘Shiranui’ [(Citrus unshiu Marc. × Citrus unshiu Osbeck) × Citrus reticulate Blanco] trees. Diniconazole treatment increased abscisic acid (ABA) concentration in leaves compared with untreated controls in water-stressed conditions after 20 days of water-stress treatment. Diniconazole significantly decreased the stomatal aperture at 9 h after application compared with untreated controls in water-stressed conditions. The photosynthetic rate decreased in water-stressed conditions; however, regardless of the earlier stomatal closure induced by diniconazole application, the decrease of photosynthetic rate was delayed by the application.  相似文献

Background  

Quantitative multi-elemental analysis by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectrometry depends on a complete digestion of solid samples. However, fast and thorough sample digestion is a challenging analytical task which constitutes a bottleneck in modern multi-elemental analysis. Additional obstacles may be that sample quantities are limited and elemental concentrations low. In such cases, digestion in small volumes with minimum dilution and contamination is required in order to obtain high accuracy data.  相似文献

Globally, aquaculture systems with water recirculation experience increasing problems with microbial taste and odor compounds (TOCs) such as geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol (MIB). This study investigated the content of geosmin and MIB in water and the flesh of 200 rainbow trouts from eight recirculated aquaculture systems in Denmark. TOC content in the fish flesh was measured by a dynamic headspace extraction method and was evaluated by a sensory panel. The results showed significant correlations between TOC content in water and fish and between chemical analysis and sensory perception. When geosmin exceeded 20 ng/L in the water, 96% of the fish had an intense muddy flavor, but below 10 ng geosmin/L, 18% of the fish (only 3% in special depuration ponds) had an intense muddy flavor. The results indicate that TOC levels <10 ng/L will ensure that a negligible portion of the fish obtains an unpalatable taste and flavor due to TOCs.  相似文献

The kinetics of the thermal hydrolysis of the fructans of Agave salmiana were determined during the cooking step of mezcal production in a pilot autoclave. Thermal hydrolysis was achieved at different temperatures and cooking times, ranging from 96 to 116 °C and from 20 to 80 h. A simple kinetic model of the depolymerization of fructans to monomers and other reducing sugars and of the degradation of reducing sugars to furans [principally 5-(hydroxymethyl)furfural, HMF] was developed. From this model, the rate constants of the reactions were calculated, as well as the pre-exponential factors and activation energies of the Arrhenius equation. The model was found to fit the experimental data well. The tradeoff between a maximum fructan hydrolysis and a critical furan concentration in allowing for the best ethanol yield during fermentation was investigated. The results indicated that the thermal hydrolysis of agave was optimal, from the point of view of ethanol yield in the ensuing fermentation, in the temperature range of 106-116 °C and the cooking range time of 6-14 h. The optimal conditions corresponded to a fructan hydrolysis of 80%, producing syrups with furan and reducing sugar concentrations of 1 ± 0.1 and 110 ± 10 g/L, respectively.  相似文献

The determination of protein nitrogen in feeds and wheat by microcomputer controlled titration is described. The method involves direct titration of ammonia with standard hypochlorite titrant in the presence of bromide. The titrant is delivered by an automatic buret, and the microcomputer controlled, automatically computed potentiometric end points are precise to 0.1% over a 5-fold concentration range of nitrogen. Digestions performed with both mercury and copper catalysts show comparable results. Samples are weighed before digestion by an electronic balance interfaced to the computer which records sample number and weight. An automatic pipet aliquots, dilutes, and buffers samples directly from the digestion tubes; the samples can be immediately titrated with the automatic titrator. The results for protein in NBS standards and check feed samples from an offical testing program compare closely with average values reported for these standards. Results show that feed and wheat samples contained 10-100% protein. Precision for successive aliquots of the same digests is 0.1-0.4%relative standard deviation; precision for multiple digestions of the same sample is 0.1-0.8%.  相似文献

Radioactivity in soils labelled with 14C was determined by suspending the finely ground soil in a thixotropic gel, dispersing it by ultrasonics and counting the dispersion in a liquid scintillation spectrometer. The relationship between the weight of sample and counting efficiency was found to be almost linear. Using 30 mg soil, the counting efficiency is 50 per cent and 14C may be determined with an average coefficient of variation of 1.5 per cent to within 5 per cent of the value determined by oxidative procedures.  相似文献
