Marisma, one of the largest salt-marsh alluvial areas in SW Spain, has been reclaimed since 1970 by artificial drainage and
amendment with phosphogypsum (PG) so as to reduce Na+ saturation. Within the reclaimed area, two 250- × 20-m plots were treated as follows: (1) amendment with 25 Mg/ha of PG every
2 to 3 years between 1979 and 2003 (plot PY); (2) like PY but PG treatment stopped after 1997 (plot DR). A contiguous virgin
Marisma salt-marsh plot (MV), neither drained nor amended, was the control. In MV, soil microbial biomass C, most enzyme activities
and total organic C content were much greater than in PY and DR soils, despite the salinity stress. The decrease in soil organic
matter content in PY and DR soils was likely due to cotton-cropping practices, which favoured the organic C mineralisation
and nutrients removal by crops. Microbial activity of MV soil, probably stimulated by the rhizodepositions of the natural
vegetation, did not suffer from the osmotic effect due to the raising of soil solution ionic strength. Microbial quotient
could be ranked as MV > PY > DR, whereas the metabolic quotient had an opposite trend. Thus, both quotients suggested that
the interruption of PG amendment was not favouring microbial activity. Principal component analysis clearly identified the
chemical and biochemical soil properties mostly affected by the reclamation and also indicated the longer PG amendment in
PY plot. Stepwise discriminant analysis identified two physiologically different types of soil microflora, one less active
present in the MV virgin soil and another more active present in the reclaimed PY and DR soils. 相似文献

An experimental study to investigate the potential soil accumulation of the triazole fungicide difenoconazole in soil was carried out in northwestern Italy. The fungicide was applied to sugar beet for 4 years with three applications per year at a rate of 75 g ha?1 each, according to formulated product recommended use. Soil cores were collected each year before the first application, after each application and at harvest of the crop. The soil samples were then split into 0–10 and 10–40 cm depth layers, extracted and quantitatively analysed by gas chromatography for difenoconazole residues. The study evidenced that difenoconazole residues could be detected in the upper soil layer only, in quantities detectable after several applications (0.14 to 0.32 mg kg?1 after the third application) which then become undetectable the following year. It can be concluded, therefore, that difenoconazole does not accumulate in soil. 相似文献

The volatiles produced by leaves and fruits of Olea europaea cv. Olivastra Seggianese have been analyzed in two different phenological stages. Furthermore, the volatiles of the virgin olive oil obtained from ripe fruits has been characterized. The volatiles were sampled by means of two different techniques: hydrodistillation and SPME. Differences were observed between the two different collection times, the different organs, and sampling techniques. The major constituents were often aldehydes, particularly (E)-2-hexenal (9.8-48.0%); however, also many terpenoids have been identified, mainly (E,E)-alpha-farnesene (0.2-27.0%), linalool (0-3.6%), beta-caryophyllene (0-8.1%), and valencene (0-2.5%). Although pasta is generally not considered for its aromatic properties, some evidence proves that cereal flours release volatile compounds and they might have an effect on the aroma of the transformed products. This work reports on the characterization of the volatile components of semolina and pasta obtained from four durum wheat cultivars (Triticum durum Desf., cvs. PR22D89, Creso, Cappelli, Trinakria). Semolina samples were characterized through polar metabolite profiling and fatty acid analysis to identify potential precursors of the volatile components. The results show significant differences among the samples tested with cv. Trinakria characterized by the highest content of sugars and fatty acids. Volatile composition was investigated both in semolina and in cooked pasta using headspace solid-phase micro-extraction (HS-SPME) and identified by GC–MS. Thirty-five volatile compounds including aldehydes, ketones, alcohols, terpenes, esters, hydrocarbons and a furan were identified. Significant differences were observed between semolina and pasta samples in terms of composition and amount of the volatile compounds. During cooking an increase in aldehyde content, the appearance of ketones and a decrease in alcohol content were observed. Correlations between metabolites and volatiles demonstrate that the flavour of cooked pasta may differ significantly depending on the durum wheat cultivar employed. 相似文献

Increased knowledge on the spatial distribution of marine resources is crucial for the implementation of a true ecosystem approach to management and the conservation of marine organisms. For exploited fish species characterized by aggregation behaviour during spawning time, the identification and tracking of spawning areas is essential for a correct assessment of their productivity and population abundance. To elucidate this concept, we reconstructed the spatio‐temporal distribution of adult plaice (Pleuronectes platessa, Pleuronectidae) during spawning time along the 20th century. Historical data reveal that not only the abundance but also the former population richness was much higher than previously estimated and has declined because of protracted over‐exploitation during the last 30 years. We conclude that forecast of stock recovery to former levels of abundance neglecting spatial reorganizations might be over‐optimistic and shaded by a lost memory of the past population richness. These results reinforce the importance of managing exploited marine resources at a greater spatial resolution than has been carried out in the history of fishery management. 相似文献

This work reports a mortality outbreak, occurred in 2015 and affecting juveniles of European perch (Perca fluviatilis L.) farmed in Italy. Perch rhabdovirus (PRV) was detected by viral isolation and biomolecular investigations. Phylogenetic analysis clustered our isolate into genogroup B, which also includes PRV isolates from Perca fluviatilis identified in France (2004–2009); diagnostic investigations also revealed opportunistic bacteria (Aeromonas hydrophila) and parasites (Chilodonella piscicola). Since, occasionally, PRV has been reported in the natural environment, which is often a source of eggs and broodstock for farms, it could be possible that both similar France and Italian isolate were imported from a same place elsewhere and have a common origin. Improving biosecurity measures (batch control) and disinfection of egg strings with an iodine‐based solution helps prevent apparent vertical transmission of PRV. 相似文献

In the world lentil is grown on more than 3 million hectares and is one of the most important, low-cost, food source of protein.
In Italy lentil has been cultivated since ancient times, but in the last decades its cultivation has been confined to marginal
areas, small islands and hilly, mountainous areas of central and southern Italy. Local varieties are still common and are
often greatly appreciated for their taste and cooking qualities. Several accessions from the Santo Stefano di Sessanio area,
Abruzzo Region, were collected and phenotypically and genotypically characterized in order to look for the existing variability
within and between populations. Image analysis of seeds was also used. Populations grown in Santo Stefano di Sessanio and
in the neighbouring area basically share most of their characteristics. However, some of the accessions anonymously gathered
from the local market were shown to be different from those collected from farmers. The paper reports and discusses how this
local product needs be characterized and promoted in order to avoid fraud that could negatively affect the local economy and

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) localization and roles of peroxidases, malondialdehyde and reduced glutathione were compared in leaves of apricot (Prunus armeniaca) plants asymptomatic, European Stone Fruits Yellows (ESFY)-symptomatic and recovered. Nested PCR analysis revealed that Candidatus Phytoplasma prunorum, is present in asymptomatic, symptomatic and recovered apricot trees, confirming previous observations on this species, in which recovery does not seem to be related to the disappearance of phytoplasma from the plant.H2O2was detected cytochemically by its reaction with cerium chloride, which produces electron-dense deposits of cerium perhydroxides. H2O2was present in the plasmalemma of the phloem cells of recovered apricot plant leaves, but not in the asymptomatic or symptomatic material. Furthermore, by labelling apricot leaf tissues with diaminobenzidine DAB, no differences were found in the localization of peroxidases.Protein content in asymptomatic, symptomatic and recovered leaves was not significantly different from one another. In contrast, guaiacol peroxidase activity had the following trend: symptomatic > recovered > asymptomatic, whereas reduced glutathione content followed the opposite trend: asymptomatic > recovered > symptomatic. Moreover, no differences were observed in malondialdehyde concentrations between asymptomatic, symptomatic and recovered leaves. The overall results suggest that H2O2 and related metabolites and enzymes appear to be involved in lessening both pathogen virulence and disease symptom expression in ESFY-infected apricot plants. 相似文献
