Alveolar echinococcosis is a serious zoonosis caused by the larval stage of Echinococcus multilocularis. Pigs, as humans, can play the role of non-specific intermediate hosts of this parasite. Detection of E. multilocularis in swine can be taken as an indicator of infection risk for humans. This paper presents the first cases where E. multilocularis larval forms have been detected in pigs in Poland. A total of 256 pig livers with different lesions were collected from slaughterhouses in southern Poland and examined by nested PCR method. Three of them were identified as E. multilocularis positive. They contained noticeable spherical nodular whitish forms on the surface of the liver, recessed partially into the liver tissue. In two cases only single lesions (3mm and 6mm in diameter) were found, while in one case numerous (eight) lesions (2mm in diameter) were found. PCR E. multilocularis identification was confirmed by sequencing and comparison with the GenBank database.  相似文献

A top‐cross‐mating design among 29 S4 inbred lines and tester (cultivar ‘Dukat’) was carried out to study their breeding value in terms of general combining ability (GCA). The objectives of this study were to evaluate the acidity, soluble solids and dry matter contents in fruits of progeny F1 in comparison with S4 inbred lines as well as the cultivars (S0); identify strawberry genotypes with high value of GCA for use in cultivar development; and determine mid‐parent heterosis regarding S4 inbred lines and cultivated strawberry. The 2‐year observations showed statistically significant differences between tested genotypes in terms of the studied traits. The highest breeding value based on GCA was estimated for Chandler 123‐5 for soluble solids and dry matter content, and Kent 7‐6 for acidity. Estimated mid‐parent heterosis had positive and negative values. The highest heterosis in terms of extract and dry matter content (26.71% and 17.50%, respectively) occurred in the offspring Chandler 123‐5 × ‘Dukat’, but as regards acidity in hybrid Chandler 123‐22 with cv. ‘Dukat’. The study of genetic divergence by dendrograms may help to identify parents suitable for obtaining hybrids with higher heterosis effects.  相似文献

BAS 662H, a 1:2.5 combination of the semicarbazone-type auxin transport inhibitor diflufenzopyr and the auxin herbicide dicamba, is used as a post-emergence herbicide in corn. The combination has been observed to provide more effective broadleaf weed control and improved tolerance in corn than typical rates of dicamba used alone. In order to analyze this phenomenon, the uptake, translocation, metabolism and action of both compounds, applied alone and in combination, were investigated in Amaranthus retroflexus L, Galium aparine L and corn (Zea mays L). When plants at the third-leaf stage were foliarly treated with diflufenzopyr and dicamba equivalent to field rates of 100 and 250 gha-1, respectively, diflufenzopyr synergistically increased dicamba-induced 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) synthase activity and ethylene formation in G aparine and even more in A retroflexus, followed by accumulations of (+)-abscisic acid (ABA) in the shoot tissue within 20 h. This correlated with subsequent growth inhibition, hydrogen peroxide overproduction and progressive tissue damage. Diflufenzopyr also enhanced the activity of other auxin herbicides, such as quinclorac and picloram, and of the synthetic auxin, 1-naphthaleneacetic acid. After foliar and root application of [14C]diflufenzopyr, alone or as BAS 662H, considerably lower tissue concentrations and systemic translocation of radioactivity beyond treated plant parts were found in corn, compared to G aparine and particularly A retroflexus. Furthermore, diflufenzopyr decreased foliar uptake of [14C]dicamba by c 50% selectively in corn, compared to the treatment alone. Metabolism of [14C]diflufenzopyr was more rapid in corn than in the weed species. In combination, the two compounds had no mutual effect on their metabolic degradation. In BAS 662H, diflufenzopyr synergizes the herbicidal activity of dicamba in sensitive weed species. In corn this effect is prevented by a more rapid metabolism of diflufenzopyr, coupled with lower uptake and translocation. Selectivity of BAS 662H is additionally favoured by a higher crop tolerance to dicamba because of reduced foliar uptake of this herbicide in corn under the influence of diflufenzopyr.  相似文献

Reverse triiodothyronine (rT3) displays hypometabolic properties and antagonizes the hypermetabolic effect of 3,5,3'-triiodothyronine (T3). Previous experiments revealed that exogenous rT3 enhanced free fatty acids (FFA) in heat-stressed pullets and in chickens infected with lipopolysaccharide from Escherichia coli. To gain more data concerning the action of rT3, its effect on lipaemia produced by two main stress hormones: glucocorticoids and catecholamines, has been investigated. Synthetic glucocorticoid [dexamethasone (Dex)] and adrenaline (Adr) were used in two experiments. The experiments differed in duration, i.e. 24 h (Dex) or 150 min (Adr), and frequency of rT3 injections, i.e. two (Dex) or single (Adr) injections. The doses of hormones were as follows: rT3: 14 microg 100 g body weight/ injection (subcutaneously): Dex: 5 mg/animal (subcutaneously) and Adr: 1 mg/animal (intramuscularly). Maximal increases in FFA of 230.5 and 227.5% were noted after 1.5 and 3 h, respectively, in birds treated with Dex. Reverse T3 almost completely suppressed the rise of plasma FFA elicited by Dex. The increase in Dex + rT3-treated fowl was only 30.4% (not significant in comparison to control). Adr increased FFA by a maximum of 89.1 % and treatment with rT3 (Adr + rT3 group) suppressed this FFA increase to 42.5%. The data obtained demonstrate that rT3 suppresses lipaemia induced by an exogenous glucocorticoid and adrenaline. This suppression was more pronounced in glucocorticoid-treated birds, where Dex produced a higher lipolytic response than Adr.  相似文献

In a laboratory experiment at 28 °C, four commercial starters (Carp Starter, Uni Starter, Perla Plus, Asta) were fed intensively to 11-month-old juvenile tench Tinca tinca of initially 41 mm TL and 0.70 g BW, over a period of 120 days. Frozen chironomid larvae were fed to fish below satiation as a reference diet for comparison of the fish body chemical composition. Final survival rates of 99–100% and satisfactory growth were attained with all dry diets, ranging from 73.3 (Carp Starter) to 84.8 mm TL (Asta) and from 5.39 (Carp Starter) to 8.09 g BW (Perla Plus). External body deformities of up to 96.4% specimens appeared in those fed Uni Starter, Carp Starter and Perla Plus, whereas 0% were recorded for Asta and chironomids. Fish in groups with deformities showed significantly elevated lipid content in their bodies, lower ash content and higher condition coefficient values. Juveniles in groups without deformities did not substantially change lipid content, but the ash content increased. Thus, among four dry diets studied, only Asta starter can be fed effectively and safely to juvenile tench reared intensively under controlled conditions.  相似文献

Polyglutamylation of tubulin has been implicated in several functions of microtubules, but the identification of the responsible enzyme(s) has been challenging. We found that the neuronal tubulin polyglutamylase is a protein complex containing a tubulin tyrosine ligase-like (TTLL) protein, TTLL1. TTLL1 is a member of a large family of proteins with a TTL homology domain, whose members could catalyze ligations of diverse amino acids to tubulins or other substrates. In the model protist Tetrahymena thermophila, two conserved types of polyglutamylases were characterized that differ in substrate preference and subcellular localization.  相似文献
