Numerous communities associated with at least five distinct ethnic Mayan groups in southern Mexico and Central America continue to rely upon forested areas as integral components of their agricultural systems. They carefully manage these areas so that forests provide food, raw materials, and animals. Management practices include removing and planting of woody and herbaceous species, apiculture, and seed harvest. Mayan agroforestry systems in geographically and ecologically distinct areas of Mesoamerica were evaluated to better understand traditional agroforestry system components and how indigenous Mayan agroforestry could be a part of regional forest conservation and restoration. Systems were within Mexican land grant areas (ejidos) or on contested land. Although these systems rely upon different woody species and management techniques, common among them are: (1) the use of multi-stage and successional pathways with forest as a part of the larger system, (2) species that are believed by traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) to accelerate forest regeneration - more than 30 tree species are recognized and managed as potential facilitators of forest regeneration and (3) direct human consumption of forest products at all stages of regeneration. 相似文献

The effects of 4 years of simulated nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) depositions on gross N transformations in a boreal forest soil in the Athabasca oil sands region (AOSR) in Alberta, Canada, were investigated using the 15N pool dilution method. Gross NH4+ transformation rates in the organic layer tended to decline (P < 0.10, marginal statistical significance, same below) in the order of control (CK, i.e., no N or S addition), +N (30 kg N ha−1 yr−1), +S (30 kg S ha−1 yr−1), and +NS treatments, with an opposite trend in the mineral soil. Gross NH4+ immobilization rates were generally higher than gross N mineralization rates across the treatments, suggesting that the studied soil still had potential for microbial immobilization of NH4+, even after 4 years of elevated levels of simulated N and S depositions. For both soil layers, N addition tended to increase (P < 0.10) the gross nitrification and NO3− immobilization rates. In contrast, S addition reduced (P < 0.001) and increased (P < 0.001) gross nitrification as well as tended (P < 0.10) to reduce and increase gross NO3− immobilization rates in the organic and mineral soils, respectively. Gross nitrification and gross NO3− immobilization rates were tightly coupled in both soil layers. The combination of rapid NH4+ cycling, negligible net nitrification rates and the small NO3− pool size after 4 years of elevated N and S depositions observed here suggest that the risk of NO3− leaching would be low in the studied boreal forest soil, consistent with N leaching measurements in other concurrent studies at the site that are reported elsewhere. 相似文献

Wood is a highly sophisticated and multihierarchical material. The nanoscale structures in natural cell walls of red pine,
American pine, and white ash specimens were investigated using the small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) technique. A tangent-by-tangent
method was used to analyze the SAXS data. The results demonstrate that the multihierarchical scatterers in the three specimens
can be divided into two dominant components, i.e., a sharp component and a wide component. The sharp component mainly corresponds
to the contribution of cellulose microfibrils, and its size is almost unaffected by the water content. However, the wide component
includes voids or microcracks and cellulose microfibril aggregates; its size changes, reflecting swelling and water accumulation
in the voids or microcracks. Because of the different morphological features of the cell walls, softwood (red pine and American
pine) displays different tendencies from hardwood (white ash) in terms of changes in the wide component with water content:
the average scatterer size of the wide component has an incremental tendency with the water content in softwood, but it has
a descending tendency in hardwood. Fractal analysis further revealed that in white ash the surface of scatterers is coarser
and the scatterers form more compact nanostructures than in the two pine woods. All this nanostructural information can be

间歇灌溉作为丘陵区稻田常见的灌溉方式之一,其强烈的干湿交替过程会影响稻田中污染物的环境行为。在室内批量平衡吸附试验的基础上,通过农药野外喷施试验与动态观测,研究了间歇淹水和持续淹水条件下石灰性紫色土发育的稻田中毒死蜱的迁移转化特征。结果表明,土壤对毒死蜱的吸附能力远远强于其对毒死蜱主要降解产物3,5,6-三氯-2-吡啶醇(3,5,6-TCP)的吸附能力,毒死蜱的吸附容量常数范围为34~170,TCP的吸附容量常数范围为0.62~0.67,且对毒死蜱和TCP的吸附容量常数及分配系数均以耕作层土壤高于非耕作层土壤;施药后田面水中毒死蜱及TCP的浓度均随时间迅速下降,两者均可通过土壤大孔隙优先流快速迁移至50cm深处;间歇灌溉处理稻田土壤孔隙水中两者的浓度总体低于持续淹水处理;降雨和灌溉事件会导致两者由土壤固相迅速向水相发生短时间、高浓度释放与淋失。 相似文献

中国中东部农田作物水分利用效率时空分布及影响因子分析 总被引:2,自引:2,他引:2
为研究中国中东部地区农田生态系统水分利用效率时空分布特征,该文利用遥感数据、气象数据以及国家分省区农业统计数据,基于农作物种植结构所划分的地区,通过趋势分析方法,分析了2003-2012年10 a间农田水分利用效率的时空分布特征。结果发现:华北地区农田多年平均水分利用效率(water use efficiency,WUE)高于南方水田区,山东半岛、辽东半岛以及江苏沿海地区农田WUE最高,多年农田WUE均值高达2.0 g/kg,而东北平原及东南丘陵地区农田WUE多年均值则较低,平均在1.5 g/kg以下。中国中东部农田WUE总体上呈上升趋势。其中,华北平原以及松嫩平原农田WUE增加趋势明显,最大年均增幅达0.02 g/(kg·a),而东南丘陵、江淮以及三江平原等地,农田WUE则呈减小趋势,最大年均降幅达-0.007 g/(kg·a)。整体上看,北方地区农田WUE的涨幅高于南方。考虑气候变化后,灌溉和施肥对中国中东部农田WUE的影响较小。气候变化则是影响中东部农田WUE的主要因素。在北方地区,对农田WUE变化有显著影响的因子为年降水量,而在南方地区,年均温的影响则更显著。相比于在中东部北方地区农田WUE年际变化主要受到年降水量对农田蒸散发(evapotranspiration,ET)的影响,在南方地区,农田WUE年际变化则主要受到年均温对农作物总初级生产力(gross primary productivity,GPP)的影响。该研究可为农田区水资源合理利用以及中东部农田生态环境持续发展提供参考。 相似文献

为了研究纳米TiO2对土壤中Al、Fe和Mn形态转化的影响,以三峡水库消落区土壤为研究对象,采用室外模拟淹水试验,分析不同浓度的2种纳米TiO2对土壤中Al、Fe和Mn释放及形态的影响。结果表明,淹水2个月后,纳米TiO2颗粒处理引起上覆水Al和Fe浓度显著升高;促进土壤残渣态和可氧化态Al的释放,且锐钛矿颗粒的作用大于金红石颗粒,高浓度锐钛矿颗粒处理导致12.31%的Al释放到水中;纳米TiO2颗粒对土壤Fe和Mn总量影响较小,但对Fe形态转化影响较大,主要表现为可还原态和可氧化态Fe转化为酸可交换态Fe,促进Fe的活化,其中低浓度金红石颗粒与高浓度锐钛矿颗粒影响相对较大;纳米TiO2颗粒对Mn形态转化影响较小,仅低浓度金红石颗粒与高浓度锐钛矿颗粒处理组促进少量可还原态Mn的转化,其他均无明显变化。因此,不同结构纳米TiO2对土壤中Al、Fe和Mn形态转化的影响存在较大差异,在进行纳米TiO2的环境风险评估时需要区别对待。 相似文献

本文以上海土壤为对象,研究选定了土壤磷等温吸附试验条件为:水土比10,平衡时间6天,控温25℃,磷加入量为100,200,400,600μgP/g土,溶液基质为0.01M CaCl2。磷缓冲能力试验条件为:平衡时间2天,磷加入量为20,40,100,200μgP/g土。根据Freundlich, Tempkin和Langmuir方程计算的土壤吸附指标与土壤类型及土壤性质有密切关系,是土壤磷素肥力的重要指标。反映土壤缓冲能力的“磷肥指标”与土壤有机质、粘粒、活性铝及pH值相关较好。上海几种主要土壤中以青紫泥的最大吸附量(Xm),0.2ppm P吸附量和“磷肥指标”为最高,其次为青黄土,沟干泥和黄泥头,最小为夹沙泥。应用磷吸附指标与“磷肥指标”来预测土壤需磷量,初步试验是可行的,但实际应用还需进一步试验研究。 相似文献

The antitermitic activities of the essential oils from the leaves of two Cinnamomum osmophloeumclones (A and B) and their chemical ingredients against Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki were investigated according to direct contact application. Results from this experiment have demonstrated that the indigenous cinnamon B leaf essential oil has a more effective antitermitic activity than indigenous cinnamon A leaf essential oil. Furthermore, when cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, and alpha-terpineol are extracted from indigenous cinnamon leaf essential oil and used at the strength of 1 mg/g, their antitermitic effectiveness is much higher than that using indigenous cinnamon leaf essential oil. Among the congeners of cinnamaldehyde examined, cinnamaldehyde has exhibited the strongest termiticidal property. 相似文献
