Selected lines of aromatic rice from American cv. A301 were cultivated in Italy, and the agronomic traits and chemical properties related to their aroma were studied. The most characteristic compound responsible for aromatic rice, 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, was quantified in all lines. Line B5-3, characterized by high 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline content, was investigated in greater detail for its volatile components and was compared with a commercial Basmati rice. Volatiles were collected by steam-distillation. Several classes of compounds were identified and quantified in both samples, including hydrocarbons, aldehydes, alcohols, ketones, heterocyclic, terpenes, disulfides, and phenols. Hexanal was the most abundant compound in both samples, followed by pentanal, 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, hexanol, benzaldehyde, oct-1-en-3-ol, 4-vinylguaiacol, indole, and trans-2- nonenal. 2-Acetyl-1-pyrroline was present at 570 and 2,350 ppb in Basmati and B5-3, respectively.  相似文献

Several studies on the Pacific sardine Sardinops sagax have focused on the identification of stock composition and boundaries, using morphometric and genetic analysis. In this study, geometric morphometric body landmarks and control region mtDNA sequences were used to examine the population structure of sardines along the Pacific coast of the Baja California Peninsula. Samples from commercial landings in Ensenada (ENS), Baja California, and Bahia Magdalena (BM), Baja California Sur, were obtained during 2006–2007. The population hypotheses tested were based on the distribution of sea surface temperature (SST) along the coast, which was previously used to define stocks. A total of 275 sardines from ENS and 119 from BM were used in morphometric analysis. Fifty-three sequences from ENS and 106 from BM were used for genetic comparisons. Morphometric results showed differences among the three groups based on SST, suggesting the existence of different morphotypes. Percentage of molecular variance explained by the differences among three groups was significantly different from zero. However, the distribution of haplotypes in the groups did not show a clear phylogeographic pattern. Additionally, mismatch distributions supported relatively similar historical demographic events in the three groups. Although evidence of phenotypic groups along the Pacific coast of the Peninsula was found, current molecular data did not clearly support the existence of a phylogeographically structured population.  相似文献

葡聚糖是大麦籽粒的一个重要品质性状,其含量高低影响大麦啤用、饲用和食用品质。虽然有关大麦β-葡聚糖合成的相关基因已有报道,但关于大麦籽粒β-葡聚糖积累的遗传调控机制仍不十分清楚。本研究以前期收集的全球119份大麦基因型为材料,种植在土壤与气候条件有一定差异的两试点,利用混合线性模型(MLM)和一般线性模型(GLM)对不同大麦材料籽粒β-葡聚糖含量进行GWAS分析。结果表明,大麦籽粒β-葡聚糖含量的基因型差异显著,其在2个环境下的广义遗传力为73.9%。利用MLM和GLM模型分别检测到8个和40个显著位点,合并2个模型重叠位点后共得到44个显著位点,其中HORVU5Hr1G022710基因在2个模型、2个地点均被鉴定到,故被认为是与β-葡聚糖含量显著相关的候选基因。2个模型中最佳等位基因数与β-葡聚糖含量均呈显著正相关。此外,基于基因注释,共鉴定到10个与糖合成、转运及分解相关的酶类基因,这些基因可能与籽粒中β-葡聚糖的合成、积累和分解紧密相关。本研究结果为阐明β-葡聚糖的遗传调控机制提供了新的视角,亦为大麦籽粒β-葡聚糖的遗传改良奠定了一定的理论基础。  相似文献

Experiments were conducted to determine the relative bioavailability (RBV) of the calcium salt of the hydroxy analog of dl-methionine (MHA-Ca, 84%) to dl-methionine (dl-Met, 99%) as Met sources fed to pigs. In experiment 1, 42 crossbred barrows (initial BW of 15.0 ± 0.7 kg) were allotted to 7 treatments in an N-balance study. The basal diet (BD) was formulated to contain 15.4% CP and 0.22% Met (70% of requirement). Diets included (1) BD, (2) BD + 0.025% dl-Met, (3) BD + 0.050% dl-Met, (4) BD + 0.075% dl-Met, (5) BD + 0.038% MHA-Ca, (6) BD + 0.077% MHA-Ca, and (7) BD + 0.115% MHA-Ca. An increase in dietary inclusion rates of both Met sources linearly increased (P < 0.01) N retained (g/d) and N retention (% of intake). Using linear slope-ratio regression, the RBV value of MHA-Ca to dl-Met for N retained (g/d) was 63.0% on a product-to-product basis (75.0% on an equimolar basis). In experiment 2, 40 crossbred barrows (initial BW of 15.5 ± 1.5 kg) were allotted to 5 treatments in another N-balance study. The BD was formulated to contain 17.0% CP and 0.22% Met (70% of requirement). Diets included (1) BD, (2) BD + 0.030% dl-Met, (3) BD + 0.060% dl-Met, (4) BD + 0.046% MHA-Ca, and (5) BD + 0.092% MHA-Ca. Increasing levels of dl-Met or MHA-Ca increased N retained (g/d) and N retention (% of intake) linearly (P < 0.001) and quadratically (P < 0.05). Using linear slope-ratio regression, a product-to-product RBV value of MHA-Ca to dl-Met was 68.4% (81.4% on an equimolar basis) for N retained (g/d). In experiment 3, 276 pigs (12 barrow and 11 gilt replicates; initial BW of 7.09 ± 1.1 kg) were used in 3 diet preference studies. Pigs were randomly allotted to 1 of 3 treatment comparisons of feed choice: (1) BD (0.23% Met) or BD + 0.07% dl-Met; (2) BD or BD + 0.0825% MHA-Ca, and (3) BD + 0.07% dl-Met or BD + 0.0825% MHA-Ca. Pigs consumed a higher percentage (55 vs. 45%; P = 0.008) of their total feed intake from the diet supplemented with 0.07% dl-Met in Comparison 1, but a lower percentage (45 vs. 55%; P = 0.003) of their total feed intake from the diet supplemented with 0.0825% MHA-Ca in Comparison 2. There was no diet preference for dl-Met or MHA-Ca in Comparison 3. The observed Met source preference differences occurred in the barrow replicates but not in the gilt replicates. These results demonstrated the mean RBV of MHA-Ca to dl-Met of 65.7% on a product-to-product (wt/wt) basis or 78.2% on an equimolar basis and that a preference for Met sources was observed in barrows but not in gilts.  相似文献

The traditional empirical approaches to the analysis of economic growth,cross‐section and panel data regressions are substantially uninformative withrespect to the issue of convergence. Whether national or regional economies appear to converge in terms of per capita income or productivity levels (the so‐called β‐convergence) critically depends on the way in which the empirical model is specified. Traditional specifications witness a disproportionate presence of proxies for forces leading towards divergence among the conditioning variables. It is therefore hardly surprising that these analyses find a positive and statistically significant value for the estimate of the speed of convergence. A more constructive use of cross‐section and panel data regressions is in the analysis of the determinants of growth. The present paper therefore builds on recent work on the role of different growth determinants (Cheshire and Carbonaro 1996) and analyses the growth performance of 122 Functional Urban Regions (FURs)over the period 1978–1994. This model explicitly recognizes growth as amultivariate process. In this new formulation it incorporates a spatialized adaptation of Romer's endogenous growth model (Romer 1990), developing the work of Magrini (Magrini 1997). Magrini's model originated from the view that technological knowledge has a very important tacit component that has been neglected in formal theories of endogenous growth. This tacit component, being the non‐written personal heritage of individuals or groups, is naturally concentrated in space. As a result, technological change is profoundly influenced by the interaction between firms and their local environments. The present paper reports the results of the estimation of a fully specified model of regional growth in per capita income. Particular attention is played to the role of research and development (R&D) activities, and to the influence of factors such as Universities that shape the local environments and have important policy implications. These results are then applied to quantifying the scope for policy to influence the growth process. Several simulations are presented deriving alternative growth outcomes across European regions that would have been obtained if those variables over which policy might have control—including the contribution of human capital—had had alternative values reflecting the realistic scope of policy makers' influence. The implications for convergence/divergence in regional per capita income levels are then analyzed using a Markov chain approach (Quah 1993 and 1996; Magrini 1999).  相似文献

Micro and macroporosity, pore shape and size distribution, aggregate stability, saturated hydraulic conductivity and crop yield were analysed in alluvial silty loam (Fluventic Eutrochrept) and clay soils (Vertic Eutrochrept) following long-term minimum and conventional tillage. The soil structure attributes were evaluated by characterizing porosity by means of image analysis of soil thin sections prepared from undisturbed soil samples.

The interaggregate microporosity, measured by mercury intrusion porosimetry, increased in the minimally tilled soils, with a particular increase in the storage pores (0.5–50 μm). The amount of elongated transmission pores (50–500 μm) also increased in the minimally tilled soils. The resulting soil structure was more open and more homogeneous, thus allowing better water movement, as confirmed by the greater hydraulic conductivity of the minimally tilled soils. The aggregate stability was less in the conventionally tilled soils and this resulted in a greater tendency to form surface crusts and compacted structure, compared with the minimally tilled soils. The latter tillage practice seemed to maintain, in the long-term, better soil structure conditions and, therefore, maintain favourable conditions for plant growth. In the silt loam, the crop yield did not differ significantly between the two tillage systems, while in the clay soil it decreased in the minimum tilled soil because of problems of seed bed preparation at the higher surface layer water content.  相似文献

Macrophomina phaseolina. the cause of damping-off and charcoal root rot disease on slash pine seedlings (Pinus elliottii Engelm var. elliottii), was antagonized by an unidentified basidiomycete species under laboratory and nursery conditions. Aseptically-grown slash pine seedlings died 3 days after inoculation with M. phaseolina, whereas seedlings inoculated with the basidiomycete sp., or basidiomycete sp. plus M. phaseolina, and uninoculated controls were alive after 6 months. In nursery studies, survival of slash pine seedlings in plots inoculated with M. phaseolina was significantly lower (57 per cent) than survival resulting from inoculations with the basidiomycete sp. (90 per cent), or basidiomycete sp. plus M. phaseolina (84 per cent), and the uninoculated controls (81 per cent). Electron microscopy showed that the basidiomycete sp. is a hyperparasite on mycelia of M. phaseolina. Preliminary evidence indicates that the hyperparasite is not host-specific but will infect other fungal pathogens. Two ectomycorrhizal fungi were not parasitized by the basidiomycete.  相似文献

在遥感和GIS技术的支持下,通过采用转换矩阵和斑块伸长指数、破碎度指数、多样性指数、优势度指数、均匀度指数等景观指数分析了80年代末期到2000年浑善达克沙地景观动态变化,结果显示:①景观要素类型尺度上,研究区草原景观和固定沙丘景观面积明显缩小,半固定沙丘景观和流动沙地景观向外扩展,反映出整个沙地向荒漠化方向发展的趋势;②景观尺度上,斑块伸长指数有所下降,破碎度变大,反映出人类活动对景观的干预作用不断增强;景观多样性指数和均匀度指数减小,优势度指数增加,表明景观的组成趋向简单,主要景观对区域景观变化起到主导作用,景观中的支配能力和影响力在增强。  相似文献
