黄昏时行车要特别警惕

每当落日黄昏时,路上行人、骑车人匆匆往回赶,驾驶员也不免“归心似箭”,加快行车速度,很容易发生交通事故。为保证黄昏时行车安全,驾驶员应注意以下要点:△集中精力,仔细观察,提高警惕,并做好随时制动应付紧急情况的准备。△加强对机车灯光及照明装置的检查和维护保养,保持良好的照明;若灯光及照明装置有故障,应及时维修,严禁“瞎眼”上路。△克服急躁心理,严格限制车速,加大车间距离,尽量避免超车,特别是在通过路口、集镇、街道以及视线盲区时,更应注意减速、鸣号,应提防穿浅灰色衣服(或赤膊)不易看清的行人突然横穿公路。△长途行车途中…     

狠抓新品种开发坚持走育繁销一体化之路

在市场经济条件下,农业科研单位要主动进入市场,必须树立市场经济的价值观念,根据农业生产的需要选择研究课题,培育经营推广新品种.同时,要加快由科研事业型向科研企业型过渡的进程,建立"科研--开发--生产--经营"一体化的运行机制,以适应科研成果市场化、产业化的需要.山西省农科院玉米研究所瑞普种业有限公司成立五年来,坚持走育繁销一体化之路,有效地加快了科研成果的市场化进程,取得了较好的经济效益和社会效益.

Recovery of Mycoplasma spp. from the Reproductive Tract of the Mare during the Estrous Cycle

The sites in the genital tract from which mycoplasmas could be recovered at various stages of the estrous cycle were studied in five Standardbred mares naturally infected with Mycoplasma. Mycoplasma equigenitalium and Mycoplasma subdolum were most frequently isolated from the clitoral fossa as compared to the vagina, cervix, and uterus. The lowest isolation prevalence was observed in the uterus. The recovery of Mycoplasma spp. from the clitoral fossa did not differ at any stage of the estrous cycle; however, recovery from the vagina, cervix, and uterus was variable during the cycle and more organisms were recovered on the day of ovulation than at any other time. From these results it was concluded that the clitoral fossa is the most likely “ecological niche” for Mycoplasma spp. in the mare. Ureaplasmas were not isolated.     

Clearance of ovine isolates of Bordetella parapertussis from murine trachea and lungs

Thirty-six mice were inoculated intranasally with Bordetella parapertussis organisms (isolated from sheep with chronic non-progressive pneumonia) to study their deposition and clearance in the lower respiratory tract. The deposition of the organism was greater in the trachea than in the lungs. At 48 hours after inoculation, almost 100% of organisms were cleared from the trachea but only 55% of organisms were cleared from the lungs. This result correlates well with the morphological changes seen previously in the pulmonary parenchyma and airways of mice and lambs experimentally infected with this organism.
