A study was conducted for 22 weeks to determine the effects of concentrate supplementations at three crude protein (CP) levels, i.e. low protein diet—LPD 12.42% CP (124.93 g day?1); medium protein diet—MPD 14.18% CP (145.87 g day?1) and high protein diet—HPD 16.35% CP (168.19 g day?1) on some pregnancy variables, reproductive performance, birth types and weight of kids kidded by pregnant Kalahari Red goats grazed on Chloris gayana. Thirty-three matured Kalahari Red goats of first parity within age range of 2 to 21/2 years with an average body weight of 38.10 ± 1.13 kg were randomly allotted to the diets with 11 goats per treatment. Data obtained were subjected to analysis of variance in a completely randomised design. It was observed that goats fed HPD had the highest (p < 0.05) values for products of pregnancy (10.35 kg) taken within 24hour before kidding and foetal growth rate (88.37 g day?1) during pregnancy. Goats fed MPD had the lowest values (p < 0.05) of 9.28 kg and 80.07 g day?1 for each of the respective parameters. Afterbirth weight was also the highest and lowest (p < 0.05) for goats supplemented with HPD (3.38 kg) and MPD (3.04 kg), respectively. On the other hand, MPD-supplemented goats had the highest values (p < 0.05) for litter size (2.14) and litter weight (6.80 kg) at birth, the value which was the least for HPD supplementation. From the results obtained from this study, it could be concluded that concentrate diet supplementation with 14.18% CP improved litter size and weight at birth with resultant reduction in weights of pregnancy variables of pregnant Kalahari Red goats grazed on Rhodes grass. 相似文献

The feasibility of thoracoscopy for viewing the chest cavity and performing pulmonary lobectomy was assessed in 8 mongrel dogs. Previously, selective intubation had been performed in another group of dogs (n = 8) in order to monitor respiratory physiology and assess its safety. Each hemithorax was intubated using a double-barrelled endotracheal tube with one barrel placed in the left main bronchus and the other in the bifurcation of the trachea. The thoracoscope was introduced through a cannula inserted through a 2-cm incision at the ventral third of the left 5th intercostal space. The cranial, dorsal, and caudal surfaces of the pleura, lobes of the left lung, and the mediastinum were examined. A 2nd cannula was located in the dorsal 3rd of the 5th intercostal space with a prior incision and used for the introduction of forceps to separate the viscera. To biopsy, a 3rd cannula was inserted at the dorsal third of the 8th intercostal space with a prior incision, through which a 12-mm diameter stapler was introduced. Should a lobectomy be necessary, a 4th cannula is located in the middle third of the 4th intercostal space. Excision of the left caudal pulmonary lobe was performed through the incision made for the 12-mm diameter cannula (8th intercostal space); a twisting movement facilitated removal. Thoracoscopy is a procedure that can be used in dogs and is particularly suitable for examination, collection of biopsy specimens, and even lung lobectomies. 相似文献

Phenotypic (rp), genotypic (rg), genotype × location (rgl) and error (re)correlations for important agronomic characters were estimated for eleven Norwegian populations of white clover (Trifolium repens L.), originating from between 58°52′N and 69°30′N latitude, and from altitudes of 10 to 450 m a.s.l. The populations were evaluated in monoculture clonal field plots for
two years at two locations in Norway. All pairwise correlations between foliage height, leaflet length, dry matter yield (DMY)
and general performance were positive and significant. Winter survival was positively correlated with general performance,
spring growth and DMY, but negatively associated with internode length, while seed yield showed a small positive genotypic
correlation with foliage height. Considerable differences were, however, revealed among populations with regard to sign and
magnitude of the estimated correlations. Within-population estimates of rg were consistently positive between DMY, general performance and most other characters; between foliage height on the one
hand and leaflet length, winter survival and seed yield on the other hand, and between internode length and leaflet length,
indicating pleiotropy. Correlations involving other character-combinations varied substantially among populations, and imply
presence of linkage and/or coadaptation. Path coefficient analysis was used to partition the genotypic correlations between
some of the characters into direct and indirect effects. Path coefficients revealed that foliage height had the highest positive
direct effect on DMY, followed by winter survival and internode length. Leaflet length, which showed a positive, significant
simple correlation with DMY, exhibited a negligible direct influence, counterbalanced nearly completely by the positive indirect
effect on DMY via foliage height. Positive indirect effects on DMY via foliage height were also found for winter survival
and internode length. The coastal populations from North and Middle Norway, and a southern highland population showed the
largest expected responses to phenotypic selection for most of the characters. The results demonstrate that there is enough
genetic variation in adapted local populations to develop new improved cultivars adapted to high-latitude environments that
combine upright growth habit with sufficient winter-hardiness and persistency.

通过测定内蒙古荒漠草原26种优势牧草的常规养分含量、纤维组成、两极离体消化率,分析了不同牧草对放牧内蒙古白绒山羊的营养价值,同时应用随意采食量、静能估测模型计算了荒漠草原优势牧草的分级指数(GI值),对牧草进行了综合评价。结果表明:(1)用营养成分和消化率指标评定,紫花苜蓿和五星蒿的营养价值最高,其次为中间锦鸡儿、圆头藜,最次为驼绒藜;(2)紫花苜蓿、五星蒿、中间锦鸡儿、圆头藜、碱蓬、全叶马兰、蒺藜草、沙打旺、阿尔泰狗娃花9种牧草GI值较高,牛枝子、甘草、猪毛蒿、松叶猪毛菜、软毛虫实、小针茅居中,灰绿藜、冷蒿、中亚狼尾草、针茅、无芒隐子草、西藏锦鸡儿、驼绒藜、黑沙蒿、刺叶柄棘豆、芨芨草、差巴嘎蒿11种牧草的GI值较低。 相似文献
