Bursaphelenchus tusciae is reported for the first time in Tunisia and North Africa, associated with the insect Hylurgus ligniperda Fabricius (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae). Nematode identification was based on restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis and sequencing of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions of ribosomal DNA. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that Tunisian B. tusciae clusters together with two other B. tusciae isolates forming a separate group close to B. hildegardae and B. eggersi. As H. ligniperda is among maritime pine scolytids pests in Tunisia and is widely distributed in North Africa, this study is an important contribution to the knowledge of Bursaphelenchus species associated with bark beetles of pine forests in Tunisia and North Africa. 相似文献

Plant-parasitic nematodes are serious pests causing important crop losses worldwide. After extensive screening of non-tuber-bearing
Solanaceae, a resistant trap crop, Solanum sisymbriifolium, with a high production level of hatching agents, seemed an ideal control method for potato cyst nematodes (PCN), Globodera spp. Recently, root-knot nematodes (RKN), Meloidogyne spp., were found coexisting with PCN. Therefore, it is important to find alternative methods to control both nematode genera.
The chemical properties of S. sisymbriifolium turns this plant into an excellent candidate for further nematicidal studies and to develop new crop production models. Studies
concerning the effects of this plant on plant-parasitic nematodes are presented. Pathogenicity studies with four S. sisymbriifolium cvs (Domino, Pion, Sis 4004 and Sharp) and five Meloidogyne species showed that all cultivars of S. sisymbriifolium studied were resistant to M. chitwoodi and hypersusceptible to M. arenaria and M. hapla. For M. hispanica only cv Pion was susceptible. M. javanica induced different responses: cvs Pion and Sharp were susceptible; cv Domino resistant and Sis 4004 hypersusceptible. The
studies of the hatching effects of root exudates from these cvs showed that they had an influence on the hatching inhibition
of second stage juveniles of the five Meloidogyne species tested. 相似文献

An immunoenzymatic assay (ELISA), an indirect immunofluorescence antibody test (IFAT) with different antigens (ELISA-Leishmania chagasi, ELISA-L. major-like, IFAT-L. chagasi and IFAT-L. major-like), and an immunochromatographic test were assessed for the diagnosis of canine visceral leishmaniasis (CVL). Serum samples from 144 dogs from an endemic area for visceral leishmaniasis in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro were tested. The sensitivities of the serological tests were 93%, 100%, 73%, 60% and 93%, with specificities of 87%, 92%, 77%, 96% and 92% for the ELISA-L. major-like, ELISA-L. chagasi, IFAT-L. major-like, IFAT-L. chagasi and the immuno chromatographic test, respectively. ELISA-L. chagasi was the best test for the diagnosis of CVL, but the immunochromatographic test could be a useful alternative as it offers simple and rapid diagnosis without the need for a specialized laboratory. 相似文献
