ABSTRACT

A combination composed of Fructus mume extract and stable chlorine dioxide was investigated for its antibacterial activity, mechanism of action, and its application against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus in mackerel (Scomber japonicus) fillets. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) values against E. coli and S. aureus ranged from 0.9–1.2 and 1.3–1.6 mg/mL for F. mume extract and 0.004–0.006 and 0.007–0.010 mg/mL for stable chlorine dioxide, respectively. We observed a mechanism of action against E. coli that involved a pore-formation role that led to cell membrane damage. In the case of S. aureus, the mechanism of action is believed to be mediated by the combination’s activity as a metabolite disrupting agent. Here, the amount of bacteria was greatly reduced in mackerel fillets treated with the combination. Moreover, the flavor and texture properties of fillets were not significantly affected by this treatment (p < 0.05). These findings suggested that the combination has promise in being used as an additive to a broader class of foodstuffs.  相似文献

采用ZBSX92A型震击式标准振筛,对碎石、浮石骨料进行筛分,筛完后,按粒径段26.5mm~19mm、19mm~16mm、16mm~9.5mm、9.5mm~4.75mm将骨料分类存放.以fuller理论为基础,计算出各个粒径段骨料的质量比,通过与文献[7]中分形理论试验得出的抗压强度的较好的级配结果对比,得出按fuller级配理论得出的质量比同样能使的试验中的浮石、碎石骨料达到合理的搭配,骨料级配较好.  相似文献

AIM: To investigate the role of autophagy in hippocampus injury induced by seizures and to observe the neuroprotective effects of autophagy inhibitor wortmannin(WM) on epileptic rats.METHODS: The Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group, model groups at 2 h, 8 h, 16 h, 24 h or 72 h after seizure induction by pilocarpine, and WM pretreatment group. The methods of HE and Nissl staining were used to evaluate the hippocampus injury. The expression of microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3(LC3) was detected by Western blotting. The ratio of LC3II to LC3I was calculated and used to represent the activity of autophagy. RESULTS: The significant increase in the ratio of LC3II to LC3I began at 2 h, peaked at 24 h, and maintained at high level at least to 72 h after seizure induction. Obvious neural injury and neuron depletion were observed in hippocampus CA1 area at 24 h after seizure induction. The number of surviving neurons at 24 h was sharply decreased in rats with seizures(75.50±5.92) as compared to the controls(110.67±18.56, P<0.01). WM significantly decreased the neuron depletion induced by seizures(100.88±18.73, P<0.05). Moreover, WM significantly decreased the ratio of LC3II to LC3I in rats with seizures at 24 h(P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Autophagy was activated in hippocampus injury induced by seizures. WM reduces the transformation of LC3II to LC3I to inhibit the autophagy activated by seizures. WM has neuroprotective effect on epileptic rats by increasing the surviving neurons in hippocampus CA1 area.  相似文献

Melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) is a crucial neuropeptide involved in various biological functions in both mammals and fish. In this study, the full-length MCH cDNA was obtained from Schizothorax prenanti by rapid amplification of cDNA ends polymerase chain reaction. The full-length MCH cDNA contained 589 nucleotides including an open reading frame of 375 nucleotides encoding 256 amino acids. MCH mRNA was highly expressed in the brain by real-time quantitative PCR analysis. Within the brain, expression of MCH mRNA was preponderantly detected in the hypothalamus. In addition, the MCH mRNA expression in the S. prenanti hypothalamus of fed group was significantly decreased compared with the fasted group at 1 and 3 h post-feeding, respectively. Furthermore, the MCH gene expression presented significant increase in the hypothalamus of fasted group compared with the fed group during long-term fasting. After re-feeding, there was a dramatic decrease in MCH mRNA expression in the hypothalamus of S. prenanti. The results indicate that the expression of MCH is affected by feeding status. Taken together, our results suggest that MCH may be involved in food intake regulation in S. prenanti.  相似文献
