The microcirculation of the penile skin of the dog is described. This study is based on the examination of the penile skin vasculature of 14 adult dogs in which injection cast preparations of the capillary systems had been made. The capillary organization was examined with the aid of a scanning electron microscope. The organization of the capillary system and associated microregulatory vessels are presented as a model for further investigation of micro-circulatory anatomy and physiology.  相似文献

The distribution of T. canis larvae and pathological changes caused by them were studied in Japanese quails orally inoculated with 1,500, 4,000 or 15,000 embryonated eggs. Larvae were distributed mainly in the liver and, to lesser extent, in the muscles, brain, eyes and other organs. The number of larvae varied from 7 to 3,346, and from 1 to 288 in the liver and muscles (breast and legs), respectively. A small number of larvae were also recovered from the heart, gizzard, brain and eyes. In the groups of quails inoculated with 4,000 or 15,000 eggs, small white foci were observed on the surface of the liver 6 or 12 hr after inoculation. Histopathological examinations revealed necrotic lesions, leukocytic infiltration, granuloma and nodular lesions. The pathological changes became more serious with the large size of inoculum and days after inoculation.  相似文献

Relationships between female reproductive performance and uterine natural killer (uNK) cells were investigated in pregnant IL-2 receptor beta-chain overexpressed transgenic (Tg2Rbeta) mice. At 8 days of pregnancy, all fetuses were alive, suggesting that implantation normally occurred in these mice. However, 47% of fetuses were dead at 10 days of pregnancy and at 12 days all fetuses were resorbing, indicating that fetal loss progressed with the advance of pregnancy. The placenta of Tg2Rbeta mice gradually decreased in weight with the advance of pregnancy. At 10 days the placental labyrinth, decidua basalis, and metrial gland in Tg2Rbeta mice were poorly developed, and more uNK cells were found in Tg2Rbeta mice than in the control mice. We propose that Tg2RPbeta mice are the first and interesting model that uNK cells can cause abortion, to clarify the involvement of uNK cell function in female reproductive performance.  相似文献

Immunohistochemical analysis of cytokeratin expression in dog skin   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The expression of cytokeratins and involucrin was analyzed to identify the skin cells which compose the epidermis of dogs. The distribution of cytokeratins and involucrin in normal dog skin was immunohistochemically examined with 27 commercial monoclonal antibodies for human use. Antibodies, No.4. OV-TL12/13, 35betaH11, 4.1.18, CAM5.2, NCL5D3, Ks.13.1, Ks.18.04, Ks.19.1, 170.2.]4 and Ks.20.8 stained hair follicles and/or the sweat gland duct, but not the epidermis. Antibodies, 34betaB4, AE3, 34betaE12. LP34, RCK102, MNF116, AE1, KLI, DE-K10 and DE-K13 reacted with every layer of the epidermis, hair follicles and the sweat gland duct. These results were similar to those reported in the human skin. No positive staining, however, could be detected in the epidermis, hair follicles and the sweat gland duct with commercial antibodies, 6B10, Ks.7.18, Mu146-uc, E3, RCK108 and involucrin. Therefore, immunohistochemical investigation with these commercial antibodies developed for human skin examination might be available for investigating the origin of skin tumors in dogs.  相似文献

An orthoreovirus was isolated from an Ostrich (Struthio camelus) and rapidly identified as orthoreovirus by the rapid determination of viral RNA sequences (RDV) system and electron microscopy. Phylogenetic analysis of the sigma A protein indicated that the isolate belonged to avian species and was closely related to chicken orthoreovirus strain 138. The results of the present study indicated that an ostrich orthoreovirus is slight different from other chicken orthoreoviruses and provided evidence of diversity among avian orthoreoviruses. To our knowledge, this is the first genetic report of an orthoreovirus isolated from an ostrich.  相似文献

NERICA are interspecific rice varieties from crossing between the high-yielding Asian rice ( Oryza sativa spp. Japonica) with locally adapted African rice ( Oryza glaberrima). In this study, we analyzed grain qualities of 7 NERICA varieties (NERICA 1 to 7) and genetic derivation of quality-related genes. Quality analyses of NERICA grains showed that 7 NERICA varieties were clearly classified into two groups based on the difference of amylose content, and the difference influenced the pasting and physical properties of grains. Genetic analysis of the gene encoding granule-bound starch synthase I (GBSSI), which is known as a key enzyme on amylose synthesis in rice grain, revealed that varieties with higher amylose content ( approximately 29%) have the gene derived from O. glaberrima parent, and group 2 with lower amylose content ( approximately 22%) have the gene from O. sativa parent. These results indicated that the difference in amylose content as well as grain properties among 7 NERICA varieties is mainly determined by the genetic derivation of GBSSI. Further genetic analysis of starch synthesis-related genes suggested that the genetic derivation of SSIIa also influences the chain length of amylopectin in 7 NERICA varieties.  相似文献
