Curimbatá, Prochilodus scrofa, were examined and selected for induced spawning with human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). Intra-ovarian eggs were sampled and size composition was analyzed.With 21 females, two doses of HCG were applied at 10-h intervals, 5 IU and 10 IU per gram of total weight. According to response, three distinct groups were identified. For the groups where eggs were successfully fertilized, followed by embryonic development, the percent frequency distribution of egg diameter was unimodal with a constant mode of 1111.15 μm. It is suggested that for P. scrofa, selection of recipient females can be made on egg frequency-diameter distribution.  相似文献

Shelterbelt systems play an important and long-term role in ecological stability and food security. Today, shelterbelts are threatened by anthropogenic destruction, plant diseases, and insect pests. Determining the continuity of shelterbelts is essential for the management and maintenance of complete and stable shelterbelt systems. In this paper, we acquired SPOT 5 images with a 10 m × 10 m spatial resolution, and, based on a GIS method, we generated belt waveforms using a waveform data collector. We then developed a waveform recognition model for belt continuity based on waveform recognition theory. Finally, we identified a minimum threshold value for the identification of belt gaps, and conducted belt continuity recognition in the study area. The results were compared with data calculated from aerial images with a 0.5 m × 0.5 m spatial resolution. When belt gaps were <10 m, recognition was poor, but when belt gaps were between 10 and 20 m, the mean absolute error was 3.8 %, and when belt gaps were >20 m, the mean absolute error was 2.7 %. We propose that this method provides a powerful new tool for the investigation and management of shelterbelt systems.  相似文献

Two biotypes of the citrus nematode, Tylenchulus semipenetrans Cobb, were identified among five populations occurring in different regions in Israel. These biotypes originated from Sour orange and Troyer citrange roots and differed in their ability to infestPoncirus trifoliata hybrids (particularly Troyer citrange). They appear to be close to two recognized biotypes known to be present in other countries and designated as the “Poncirus” and “Mediterranean” biotypes. The different infectivity of the two biotypes on Troyer citrange roots was maintained even after they were cultured for 6 months on Sour orange. Both biotypes readily reproduced on persimmon, but failed to infest olive and grapevine. Two newP. trifoliata x Poorman orange hybrids exhibited good resistance to both biotypes.  相似文献
