A report is presented of esophagoscopy and gastroscopy in cats and dogs using flexible endoscopes. Following consideration of the basic equipment, an account is given of patient preparation and anesthesia, topography, investigation technique and normal findings. Rhizomania, caused by Beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV), is an important sugar‐beet disease worldwide. The aim of this study was to investigate and map BNYVV resistance from the WB258 source. Presence of a major resistance gene (termed Rz5) was indicated by ~1 : 1 segregation of virus levels in a population of 170 individuals derived from WB258. The maximum logarithm of odds (LOD) position for Rz5, identified by interval mapping, explained ~81% of the phenotypic variance. Rz5 was mapped alongside the previously identified Rz4 from the R36 source. Rz4 and Rz5 were located to 6.9 cM and 6.0 cM regions, respectively, on chromosome III by interval mapping. These locations corresponded well to the position of the widely deployed Rz1 gene, suggesting that the three genes could represent an allelic series. Physical mapping is probably required to confirm this however. BNYVV resistance genes from novel sources are potentially important in breeding for more durable resistance either as separate genes or as BNYVV race‐specific alleles.  相似文献

在基于激光斜射测距原理的3D扫描装置实时获取的植株3D图像中,提取二维傅里叶(2DFT)谱中直流分量作为萎蔫指数来定量研究植物的萎蔫程度,采用西葫芦、葫芦、南瓜及秋葵4种植物的嫩叶期体态变化检验了二维傅里叶萎蔫指数与萎蔫程度的相关性,结果表明:二维傅里叶谱的直流分量(萎蔫指数)与萎蔫程度具有较好的相关性,R2达到0.82以上。在此基础上,运用SPSS软件建立了二维傅里叶谱叶片萎蔫指数与环境饱和水气压差及光合有效辐射系数的多元线性回归统计模型,可作为亏水胁迫程度的定量化指标。  相似文献

Several races of Fusarium oxysporum Schlechtend.:Fr f. sp. ciceris (Padwick) Matuo and K. Sato cause economic losses from wilting disease of chickpea ( Cicer arietinum L.). While the genetics of resistance to race 1 have been reported, little is known of the genetics of resistance to race 4. We undertook a study to determine the inheritance of resistance and identified random amplified polymorphic DNA markers (RAPDs) linked to the gene for resistance. For the investigation, we used 100 F5 derived F7 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) that had been developed from the cross of breeding lines C-104 x WR-315. Results indicated that resistance is controlled by a single recessive gene. The RAPD markers previously shown to amplify fragments linked to race 1 resistance also amplified fragments associated with race 4 resistance. The RAPD loci, CS-27700, UBC-170550 and the gene for resistance to race 4 segregated in 1:1 ratios expected for single genes. Both RAPD markers were located 9 map units from the race 4 resistance locus and were on the same side of the resistance gene. Our results indicated that the genes for resistance to race 1 and 4 are 5 map units apart. The need to determine the genomic locations of race specific resistance genes and the possibility that these genes are clustered to the same genomic region should be investigated.
