Housedust mites, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (D. pteronyssinus) and Dermatophagoides farinae (D. farinae), are the important causative agents of allergic diseases in human and animals. By using 165 dogs suffering from atopic dermatitis (AD), serum levels of immunogloblin E (IgE) antibody against 25 kinds of allergen including housedust mites were determined. Housedust mites were the most frequent allergen against which 90 of the 165 allergic dogs (54.5%) by IMMUNODOT assay. With the further analysis of immunoblotting assay in the 90 dogs sensitized with housedust mites, antigenic proteins of housedust mites recognized by IgE antibodies were with the apparent molecular masses of 15, 76, 90, 98, and 170-kD. Among them, the 15-kD protein that might be identical to Group 2 antigens (Der f2, Der p2) was prominently observed (52/90). This study indicates that about a half of dogs with AD were sensitized to housedust mites, suggesting that Group 2 antigens of housedust mites may be a major allergen in canine AD.  相似文献

A male six-year-old Pomeranian showed recurrent seizures and progressive left hemiparesis. MRI revealed a mass in the right paramedian frontal-temporal region with hyperintensity on T1-weighted (T1W) and mixed-intensity on T2-weighted (T2W) images. After gadolinium enhancement, the mass was enhanced homogenously and demonstrated the dural tail sign. Surgical resection of mass was performed and its histological diagnosis was meningioma. The meningioma of this case had a high cellular density with some lipid contents and intra- and extra-tumor hemorrhage, however, calcification was not found. These cellular characteristics may contribute to a higher signal intensity on T1W imaging.  相似文献

Retrospective serological analysis of spontaneous CDV infection in 192 dogs   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Spontaneous cases of canine distemper virus (CDV) infection were serologically evaluated. The 192 dogs in which CDV antigen was confirmed from tonsil by immunohistological examination were 2- to 4-months old, of various breeds, and unvaccinated. The prognoses were good in 74 dogs with significantly high levels of anti-CDV passive hemolytic aggregation (PHA) titer. In the other 118 dogs with poor prognoses, anti-CDV PHA titer was not detected. Anti-CDV PHA titer had the most significant association with the prognoses of CDV infection, and could be the most reliable and useful indicator for evaluating such prognoses.  相似文献

Ghrelin and growth hormone (GH) play a key role in regulating energy balance, metabolic hormone secretion and food intake. Ghrelin and GH responses to dietary compositions have not yet been fully clarified, although there may be significant relationships between dietary compositions and ghrelin and GH responses. In the present study, therefore, we assessed whether dietary compositions influence postprandial plasma ghrelin and GH levels in wethers. Four wethers were respectively fed concentrate (C) or timothy hay (R) for 14 days. The levels of total digestive nutrients (TDN) and crude protein (CP) were adjusted to be at the same level. The basal ghrelin in both groups was rapidly and significantly decreased after feeding. Although the decline of ghrelin levels in C was greater and shorter than that in R, no significant difference was observed in the area under the curve (AUC) or in the incremental area. The plasma GH levels were also rapidly and significantly decreased after feeding in both groups and a significant difference was observed between the two groups for AUC of GH. Interestingly, the circadian changes in the plasma ghrelin levels were close to those in the GH levels in C, but this was not the case in R. These data suggest that dietary compositions influence postprandial plasma ghrelin and GH levels, and that these differences may be caused by several factors, including nutrients and ruminal fermentation.  相似文献

This study is the first investigation on Japanese isolates of Prototheca zopfii from bovine mastitis and the cow-barn surroundings by molecular characterization to clarify routes of infection for bovine protothecal mastitis. We performed isolation of Prototheca from cow-barn surroundings (drinking water, sewage and feces) and milk samples from cases of bovine mastitis. Genotypes of the 32 isolates of P. zopfii from cow-barn surroundings and 67 isolates from mastitis were analyzed by genotype-specific PCR assays and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) assays. All mastitis isolates were identified as P. zopfii genotype 2. Conversely, 29 isolates from cow-barn surroundings were identified as P. zopfii genotypes 1 and 3 isolates as genotype 2, respectively. Given these results, both genotypes of P. zopfii could exist in cow-barn surroundings, but no sites were identified as frequent sources of P. zopfii genotype 2. P. zopfii isolates should thus be further explored with regard to genotype to clarify the reservoir of etiological agents in bovine Prototheca mastitis.  相似文献

Lipomatosis of lymph nodes is defined as the replacement of the lymphatic parenchyma by adipose tissue which grows in the node from the hilus toward the cortical zone. In humans, it is considered as part of the normal aging process and is common in obese patients, but there are no reports in non-human primates. In this report, we describe the first case of lymph node lipomatosis in the bilateral axillary lymph nodes of a young adult cynomolgus monkey. Macroscopically, there were no apparent abnormalities in the axillary lymph nodes on either side, and their volumes were unchanged. At the cut surface, pale yellow fat-like tissue was observed in the medullary area. Histopathologically, well differentiated adipocytes replaced a large part of the lymphatic parenchyma in the area from the hilus to the medulla without any malignant findings. Based on these findings, the patient was diagnosed with lipomatosis of the lymph nodes.  相似文献

To elucidate the physiological role of calcitonin (CT) in stingrays (cartilaginous fish), an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) system using a specific antibody against stingray CT has been developed. Synthetic stingray CT was subcutaneously injected into mice four times—once every 2 weeks—together with an adjuvant. We purified the IgG antibody fraction using the protein A affinity chromatography from collected antiserum. Evaluating the antibody titer, we found the antibody’s optimum dilution ratio to be 600 times. Competitive ELISA has been developed using the antibody diluted 600 times. Our antibody did not cross-react with teleost CTs and muscle extraction, but cross-reacted with stingray plasma and the extract of the ultimobranchial gland, the secretary organ of stingray CT. Using this ELISA, we measured the plasma CT level in stingrays and examined its correlation with several mineral concentrations. Plasma CT did not show significant correlation to calcium, magnesium, inorganic phosphorus, sodium, chlorine, or urea, although there was a correlation among the factors involved in osmoregulation, such as sodium, chlorine, and urea. On the other hand, plasma CT was significantly correlated to body weight and length. Furthermore, there was a significant correlation between plasma CT and gonad weight. Since plasma CT was correlated with the weight of liver, which is involved in the synthesis of egg yolk protein, we examined the influence of 17β-estradiol (E2) on CT secretion. After E2 injection, the plasma CT level increased significantly. This is the first study to demonstrate that E2 induced plasma CT secretion in cartilaginous fish.  相似文献

The subcellular distribution of malathion, phenthoate, and diethylsuccinate carboxylesterases was determined in the lungs of male Sprague-Dawley rats and in rats administered lung toxic doses of bromobenzene and paraquat. In control with the former two substrates, the highest activity was encountered in the 6500g and 12,000g pellets. In addition, significant activity was found in the 100,000g supernatant. These fractions hydrolyzed diethylsuccinate very slowly, and the major diethylsuccinate carboxylesterase activity was recovered in the 100,000g pellet. The bromobenzene treatment had no effect on these carboxylesterases; however, the paraquat treatment significantly decreased the phenthoate and diethylsuccinate carboxylesterases in the 100,000g pellet without altering the activity in the other fractions. The present study suggested that the subcellular distribution of malathion and phenthoate carboxylesterases is different from that in liver. The present study revealed that, in the lungs, the highest total activity for malathion and phenthoate carboxylesterases was found in the 100,000g supernatant, in comparison with liver, where the 100,000g pellet contains a much higher activity of these enzymes. The decrease in specific activities of diethylsuccinate and phenthoate carboxylesterases following the treatment with a pneumotoxicant may serve as an indicator of lung damage.  相似文献

1. Using a flexible piezoelectric probe, we detected non-invasively the cardiogenic precordial movements of domestic fowl chicks and measured heart rate (HR) daily over the first week after hatching (day 0) for comparison with previously measured embryonic HR. 2. HR of the hatchlings was much more variable than embryonic HR. The mean HR at a given age also varied among the 5 chicks measured. 3. The overall mean HR was 280 +/- 20 (SD, n = 5) bpm on day 0. This value was similar to the prepipping HR and lower than that of externally pipped embryos. It increased to 342 +/- 39 bpm 3 days later.  相似文献
