Assessment of leaf cover and crop soil cover in weed harrowing research using digital images 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Objective assessment of crop soil cover, defined as the percentage of leaf cover that has been buried in soil because of weed harrowing, is crucial to further progress in post‐emergence weed harrowing research. Up to now, crop soil cover has been assessed by visual scores, which are biased and context‐dependent. The aim of this study was to investigate whether digital image analysis is a feasible method to estimate crop soil cover in the early growth stages of cereals. Two main questions were examined: (i) how to capture suitable digital images under field conditions with a standard high‐resolution digital camera and (ii) how to analyse the images with an automated digital image analysis procedure. The importance of light conditions, camera angle, size of recorded area, growth stage and direction of harrowing were investigated, in order to establish a standard for image capture and an automated image analysis procedure based on the excess green colour index was developed. The study shows that the automated digital image analysis procedure provided reliable estimations of leaf cover, defined as the proportion of pixels in digital images determined to be green, which were used to estimate crop soil cover. A standard for image capture is suggested and it is recommended that digital image analysis be used to estimate crop soil cover in future research. The prospects of using digital image analysis in future weed harrowing research are discussed. 相似文献

In experiments on goats it was found that the binding of chlorpromazine (Cpz) to the proteins in plasma and milk ranged between 91–99 and 91–97 %, respectively, and was independent of the drug concentration in the samples. The in vitro binding of chlorpromazine in whole milk (96%) was significantly higher (P<0.01) than the protein binding in skim milk (91%) because the drug was concentrated in the butterfat. The concentration of Cpz was always higher in the milk than in the corresponding plasma samples. The renal clearance of Cpz in goats with normal urine pH was very small (0.16 ml min-1 ) due to the high degree of plasma protein binding and of back diffusion. The mechanisms involved during the renal excretion of Cpz in goats included glomerular filtration, probably active tubular secretion and pH dependent back diffusion. 相似文献

Influence of nitrogen on competition between cereals and their natural weed populations 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The effects of nitrogen fertilizer on the growth and density of natural weed populations in spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) were investigated in the absence of herbicide. An increased level of applied nitrogen did not enhance: weed germination, tended to decrease the total weed biomass and had a differential effect upon the biomass of individual weed species in both wheat and barky. In competition with barley, Chenopodium album L. and Lamium spp. had lower nitrogen optima than the crop, while Urtica urens L. had a higher nitrogen optimum. In competition with wheat, Stellaria media (L.) Vill., Lamium spp. and Veronica spp. had lower nitrogen optima than the crop. The systematic changes in nitrogen effect with time were analysed by fitting orthogonal polynomials to the growth and density curves. The methodology could be recommended for other studies in which time or other systematic factors are included, as it supplies information which a traditional analysis of variance cannot provide. Since seed production is positively correlated with biomass, so nitrogen level affects seed production and, hence, the seed pool and future weed population, suggesting that fertilizer usage can be exploited in an integrated programme of crop: weed management. A trend towards lower N fertilizer application owing to concerns about the environment willfavour most of the weed species investigated in these experiments and change the composition of weed populations. 相似文献
