Contents: Superovulation in cattle: Hormonal profdes during superovulation with PMSG or pituitary FSH.: Hormonal profiles for LH, FSH, PMSG, progesterone in peripheral blood and oestrogens in urine during superovulation with PMSG (1500–3100 IU i. m.) or pituitary porcine FSH (5 mg i.m. 2 times daily for 5 days) were evaluated radioimmunologicaly. Two days after the begin of treatment luteolysis was induced by means of 0.5 mg Estrumat® i. m. The experiments were performed with 14 heifers and 2 cows. Blood samples were taken in 6 or 12 h intervals. Preovulatory LH and FSH peaks occurred coinciding with the onset o f oestrus in good responding animals instead of a few hours later, as in weakly responding animals or during normal oestrous cycle. PMSG could be still measured in peripheral blood 10 days after application. Preovulatory gonadotropin peaks are preceded in good responding animals by clear oestrogen peaks contrary t o weak responding ones. Progesterone concentrations of good responding animals increase faster after the preouulatory LH peak and reach higher absolute values compared t o bad responding ones or during normal oestrous cycle. Furthermore there was a clear difference in progesterone values between both stimulation methods. Progesterone concentrations after induction of superovulation with PMSG are significantly higher f o r about the same number of corpora lutea as after stimulation with pituitary FSH. For judgement of the success of stimulation the determination of progesterone can be considered as parameter. From the hormonal profiles no conclusion can be drawn why some animals don't respond to the stimulation.  相似文献

‘Rougeon’ grapevines were recovered from shoot apices using in vitro culture. Shoot development from apices 0.5–1 mm in length, which contained 2–4 leaf primordia was obtained with 5 × 10?6M benzylaminopurine and 5 × 10?7M naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) under a 10-hour photoperiod, but not under continuous light, in a 15-hour photoperiod, or in darkness. At least one vigorous shoot was produced by 100% of the cultures.Rooting of these shoots was induced under the same photoperiod with the same basal culture media containing only 10?7 M NAA. Roots were produced by 91% of the cultures. Zero-, 16- or 24-h photoperiods were ineffective in promoting root development.Rooted plantlets were transferred into soil with 80% of them surviving. The grapevines were allowed to reach an average length of 2 m in a growth chamber before growth conditions were modified to induce dormancy. Vines were planted in a vineyard; after 2 growing-seasons we were unable to distinguish the micropropagated vines from ‘Rougeon’ vines propagated in the standard manner, on the basis of fruit or vegetative morphology.  相似文献

In this study the base excess (BE) was used as a method to predict the influence of the food on the urinary pH on cats. Nine cat foods (six dry and three canned) were consecutively fed to eight cats. The urine pH, volume, specific gravity and water and food intake were determined daily. The base excess [BE; mmol/kg dry matter (DM)] was calculated from the compounds in the food (BE = 49.9*Ca+82.3*Mg*+43.5*Na+25.6*K-64.6*P-13.4*Met-16.6*Cys-28.2*Cl). The BE of the tested foods was between -287.35 and 133.38 mmol/kg DM. The mean urine pH varied between 5.76 (SD = 0.13) and 7.16 (SD = 0.22). The BE correlated with the mean urine pH (pH = 6.25+0.0023*BE; r = 0.74**). The urine volume (ml/kg BW/day) correlated significantly positive with the K- (r = 0.71**) and significantly negative with the P-content (r = -0.67**), the Ca-content (r = -0.50**) followed by the Mg-content (r = -0.36**) of the food. The correlation coefficients between the anions/cations in the food and the urine pH was for K 0.36**, for P -0.61**, the Met+Cys -0.60** and Cl -0.27**. In practice the correlation between urine pH and BE would help to pre-estimate the effect of food on the urine pH and to prevent urolith formation.  相似文献

Quantum-mechanical shell effects are expected to strongly enhance nuclear binding on an "island of stability" of superheavy elements. The predicted center at proton number Z = 114, 120, or 126 and neutron number N = 184 has been substantiated by the recent synthesis of new elements up to Z = 118. However, the location of the center and the extension of the island of stability remain vague. High-precision mass spectrometry allows the direct measurement of nuclear binding energies and thus the determination of the strength of shell effects. Here, we present such measurements for nobelium and lawrencium isotopes, which also pin down the deformed shell gap at N = 152.  相似文献
