In practice, the content of standardized ileal digestible AA in complex feeds for pigs is calculated on the basis of tabulated values for individual feedstuffs. It comes into question, however, whether this truly reflects an accurate content based upon the estimate made for the individual feedstuffs. The objective of this study was to compare standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of crude protein (CP) and selected AA in complex feeds for grower and finisher pigs either calculated or experimentally determined. Six diets with increasing AA levels were prepared for grower (BW from 30 to 70 kg) and finisher (BW from 70 to 120 kg) feed. Crystalline L‐lys, DL‐met and L‐thr were added to both diets, L‐trp and L‐val only to the grower feed. SID of both CP and AA was calculated from feed tables and experimentally determined in six adult minipigs (MINILEWE) with ileorectal anastomosis. With increasing AA levels, experimentally determined SID of supplemented AA increased (p < 0.05), but SID of CP (p ≥ 0.05) was not affected. In both grower and finisher feed, calculated and experimentally determined SID of CP, Met, Cys, Trp, Ile and Tyr differed by more than 2% units, but those of Lys and His only in the finisher feed. Yet this effect was not directly consistent. The margin of error following estimation of SID of AA via tabulated values for individual feedstuffs, however, seems to be acceptable for practical use. 相似文献

A culture of Penicillium vulpinum CM1 isolated from a soil sample cultivated with maize was examined for the production of the mycotoxins cyclopiazonic acid, griseofulvin, patulin (PAT), and roquefortine C. The fungal strain was positive for PAT- and roquefortine C–producing ability, while it showed negative producing ability for cyclopiazonic acid, and griseofulvin. Both PAT and roquefortine C toxins were tested for their inhibitory effect on the germination of maize seeds. Roquefortine C showed no phytotoxicity up to a concentration of 100 μg ml?1. However, a notable reduction in the average values of fresh weight and length of roots and shoots was observed following application of PAT and a culture filtrate of P. vulpinum to maize seedlings. The phytotoxic effect was found to be dose-dependent. To analyse the cellular effects of PAT, maize root tips were treated with PAT at different concentrations. The higher dose of 25 μg ml?1 exhibited morphological changes in the nature of cytoplasm and cytoplasmic organelles as was shown by transmission electron microscopy. Furthermore, an increase in the vacuolation with localized tonoplast dissolution was observed. At this concentration, there was evidence of a disruption of lipid metabolism. On the metabolic level, the phytotoxicity of PAT and the culture filtrate of P. vulpinum led to alterations in the total reduced glutathione (GSH) concentration in maize seedlings. The GSH concentrations examined in roots and shoots after PAT, fungal filtrate or fungal crude extract treatments were enhanced compared with control treatments. Findings further showed higher total GSH levels in shoots than in roots following treatments either with PAT or the fungal crude extract. The results are discussed in the context of known herbicide and metal effects on GSH synthesis and transport mechanisms. 相似文献

The carbon (δ(13)C) and oxygen (δ(18)O) stable isotope composition is widely used to obtain information on the linkages between environmental drivers and tree physiology over various time scales. The tree-ring archive can especially be exploited to reconstruct inter- and intra-annual variation of both climate and physiology. There is, however, a lack of information on the processes potentially affecting δ(13)C and δ(18)O on their way from assimilation in the leaf to the tree ring. As a consequence, the aim of this study was to trace the isotope signals in European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) from leaf water (δ(18)O) and leaf assimilates (δ(13)C and δ(18)O) to tree-ring wood via phloem-transported compounds over a whole growing season. Phloem and leaf samples for δ(13)C and δ(18)O analyses as well as soil water, xylem water, leaf water and atmospheric water vapour samples for δ(18)O analysis were taken approximately every 2 weeks during the growing season of 2007. The δ(13)C and δ(18)O samples from the tree rings were dated intra-annually by monitoring the tree growth with dendrometers. δ(18)O in the phloem organic matter and tree-ring whole wood was not positively related to leaf water evaporative enrichment and δ(18)O of canopy organic matter pools. This finding implies a partial uncoupling of the tree-ring oxygen isotopic signal from canopy physiology. At the same time, internal carbon storage and remobilization physiology most likely prevented δ(13)C in tree-ring whole wood from being closely related to intra-annual variation in environmental drivers. Taking into account the post-photosynthetic isotope fractionation processes resulting in alterations of δ(13)C and δ(18)O not only in the tree ring but also in phloem carbohydrates, as well as the intra-annual timing of changes in the tree internal physiology, might help to better understand the meaning of the tree-ring isotope signal not only intra- but also inter-annually. 相似文献

Cell wall degradation is a crucial process within the malting process of barley. Therefore, the haplotype diversity of genes for two cell wall degrading enzymes, (1 → 3),(1 → 4)-β-d-Glucan-4-glucanohydrolase and (1 → 4)-β-Xylan-endohydrolase 1, was investigated and associations to malting quality parameters were performed. The (1 → 3),(1 → 4)-β-d-Glucan-4-glucanohydrolase gene glb2 had two major haplotypes defined by three SNPs and one INDEL, which explained 8.9 and 9.5% of the total variation of malt extract content and viscosity in the spring barley gene pool, respectively. The most significant associations of (1 → 4)-β-Xylan-endohydrolase 1 gene X-1 were found for diastatic power, saccharification VZ45 and soluble nitrogen with 18, 12 and 8% of the total variation explained by SNP3 in the spring barleys. OBJECTIVE: To assess the relationship between intake of dietary folate equivalents and risk of myocardial infarction in a German cohort. DESIGN: Intake of dietary folate equivalents was assessed by a validated food-frequency questionnaire. Cox proportional hazard models were used to evaluate the association between intake of dietary folate equivalents and risk of myocardial infarction. SETTING: The European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC)-Potsdam cohort, Germany. SUBJECTS: Subjects were 22,245 apparently healthy non-users of vitamin supplements aged 35-64 years. RESULTS: During 4.6 years of follow-up, 129 incident cases of myocardial infarction were identified. Compared with intake below the median (103 microg), higher intake of dietary folate equivalents was associated with a multivariate-adjusted hazard ratio (HR) of 0.57 (95% confidence interval (CI) 0.36-0.91). The inverse association of folate intake and myocardial infarction risk was stronger in participants with an ethanol intake equal to or above the sex-specific median (HR=0.37, 95% CI 0.18-0.79) and attenuated in those with a low ethanol intake (HR=0.67, 95% CI 0.37-1.22). CONCLUSION: An increased intake of dietary folate equivalents was observed to be associated with decreased risk of myocardial infarction in a German study population, pointing towards the importance of folate intake with respect to primary prevention of myocardial infarction. 相似文献

The intensive agricultural use and consequently the drainage of fen soils have caused modifications in structure and nutrient dynamics. Pedogenetic processes result in the formation of typical soil horizons with distinctive soil properties. These are the basis for soil classification. In the present review, results are compiled. Modifications of abiotic and biotic parameters of fen soils due to drainage and rewetting are presented. Recommendations on the further use of fen soils are submitted. 相似文献
