Identification of defect position in a wooden beam from the power spectrum of longitudinal vibration
The inverse solution procedure that enables the identification of the defect position in a beam from the resonance frequency
was exploited. Resonance frequency shifts of a power spectrum due to defects in a longitudinally vibrating beam when both
ends are free were investigated by both numerical and experimental analysis. Calculation by a transfer matrix method showed
that the frequency shift was large when the defect position coincides with a node of vibration and that no shift occurs when
it coincides with a loop of vibration. The frequency shift could be approximated by a sinusoidal curve. Calculation results
agreed well with those of the experiment in which artificial round holes were drilled as the defect model. Experimental equations
predicting the amount of the frequency shift in function of the defect position were obtained. In the inverse procedure, the
defect position was determined by comparing the resonance frequencies between the experimental and estimated power spectra
so that the coincidence factor S(x) became a minimum. The results showed the validity of the proposed method to identify the defect positions of fewer than

In July 2020, a sow in a breeding herd in the Chiba Prefecture, Japan, suffered abortion. A necropsy revealed pale pulmonary foci scattered in the two fetuses. Histologically, multifocal pulmonary necrosis was detected with numerous yeasts. The yeast was positively stained using the periodic acid-Schiff reaction and Grocott’s silver stain. Molecular identification indicated that the yeast was Candida parapsilosis. In conclusion, our results suggested that C. parapsilosis caused multifocal necrotizing pneumonia in the two fetuses. This study is the first report of a swine abortion with C. parapsilosis infection. 相似文献

The effect of acetic acid on the dissolution of proteins in rice was studied to elucidate the mechanism for the textural change induced by the acid by chemical and SDS-PAGE analyses of the rice proteins in the soaking solution. More proteins were extracted with 0.2 M acetic acid (pH 2.7) than with water (pH 6.8). The effect of acetic acid on the protein dissolution increased with increasing temperature. Immunoblotting confirmed that, when rice was soaked in acetic acid, glutelin was dissolved into the soaking solution and degraded by aspartic proteinase. Aspartic proteinase degraded glutelin much more than it did albumin and globulin. It was found that the combined amount of albumin and globulin dissolved into the acetic acid solution was much larger than that of glutelin, despite the smaller amounts present of albumin and globulin than of glutelin. Metal ions were extracted more with acetic acid than with water. In addition, carboxypeptidase was activated under the acidic condition and resulted in an increase in the amount of free amino acids. The main effect of acetic acid on the dissolution of rice proteins was enhancement of the solubility of albumin, globulin, and glutelin, the effect of proteases being minor. 相似文献

ABSTRACT: The modulating effect of invertebrate C-type lectins on the crystallization of calcium carbonate was investigated. The multiple C-type lectins, named BRA-1, -2 and -3, isolated from the acorn barnacle Megabalanus rosa inhibited the nucleation and growth of calcium carbonate crystals. Among BRA, BRA-2 most efficiently inhibited the crystal nucleation of aragonite and calcite at the concentrations of > 3.3 and > 26 μg/mL, respectively. The inhibitory activities of BRA were enhanced by the addition of various biomolecules such as D-glucosamine, D-galactosamine, chitosan oligosaccharides, L-arginine and L-aspartic acid. Although the crystals of aragonite and calcite were formed in the presence of lower concentrations of BRA, the shape and size of the crystals were changed. In this study, equine group A rotavirus (RV-A), Nasuno, isolated from foal diarrhoea in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan was characterised genetically by sequence analysis of the genome segments encoding VP4 and VP7. The nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequences revealed high homology with P[12] RV-As (94.0-99.3% and 94.9-99.4%) and G3 RV-As (86.9-99.5% and 91.1-99.4%). Nasuno was also classified into P[12] and G3 in the phylogenetic analysis of the nucleotide sequences of the genome segments encoding VP4 and VP7. 相似文献
