This paper aimed to evaluate the efficiency of resistance elicitors in the management of grapevine downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola), identify the action of the elicitors on host metabolism, and determine their economic viability. The experiments were performed in a commercial vineyard variety ‘Isabel’ (Vitis labrusca) at Vale do Sirijí [Natuba, Paraiba State in Brazil, in the period of September 2009 to January 2010 (first season) and February to June 2010 (second season)]. The statistical design of randomized blocks consisted of eight treatments (untreated control, fungicide (pyraclostrobin+metiram), potassium phosphite, Agro-Mos?, Fungicide+potassium phosphite, Fungicide+Agro-Mos?, potassium phosphite+AgroMós? and Fungicide+potassium phosphite+Agro-Mos?) with four replications, with the experimental unit consisting of 45 leaves. Applications were made every 7?days, starting 20?days after pruning (DAP) with a total of 12 sprays. The evaluations were carried out biweekly, analyzing the following variables: incubation period, disease incidence and severity, area under the disease progress curve, and efficiency of control. The enzymatic determination was performed using pulp extracts from three fruits harvested at 45, 60, 90 and 120 DAP for each treatment. The resistance elicitors were able to reduce the disease incidence under different climatic conditions, indicating their viability as an alternative for the management of Plasmopara viticola. 相似文献
Lignins were extracted from different species using organosolv process (ethanol/water). Obtained organosolv lignins were characterised by various methods to determine their composition, structure and functional groups with the purpose of evaluating their potential use for obtaining value-added compounds. The purity of organosolv lignins was determined. The total phenols content and the antioxidant power were analysed in order to know the reactivity of lignins. The ratio S/G was determined by nitrobenzene oxidation. In addition, molecular weight distribution, infrared spectroscopy and thermo gravimetrical analysis were carried out in order to determine the physical and chemical properties of organosolv lignins. Obtained organosolv lignins have very high purity and low sugar and inorganic contamination. All organosolv lignins samples have high polydispersity, and lignin from grey ironbark wood had the highest molecular weight average. Among the organosolv lignins, lemon-scented gum showed the highest average value of S/G ratio and the lowest average value of total phenols. 相似文献
Acupuncture has been shown to have the beneficial effect of reducing stress responses in animals and humans. Pharmacopuncture is the injection of subclinical doses of drugs into acupoints to give therapeutic results without side effects. This study compared the effects of injecting the usual dose of acepromazine (ACP; 0.1 mg/kg, intramuscularly [I.M.]) with those of pharmacopuncture (1/10 ACP dose at the governing vessel 1 [GV 1] acupoint) on the stress responses of healthy horses undergoing road transport for 2.5 hours. Four different treatments were applied immediately before loading, with 8 animals/treatment: injection of saline or ACP (0.1 mg/kg, I.M.) at the base of the neck; and injection of saline or 1/10 ACP (0.01 mg/kg) at the GV 1 acupoint. The road transport increased heart rate (HR), respiratory rate, body temperature, and serum cortisol of the untreated horses (injected with saline at the base of the neck). Pharmacopuncture at GV 1 reduced the average HR and transport-induced increase in HR at unloading, without changing the other variables. On the other hand, ACP (0.1 mg/kg) produced significant sedation and reduced the transport-induced increase in respiratory rate but without preventing the stress-induced increase of cortisol. Other acupuncture points and drugs should be tested to verify the beneficial effect of this therapy to reduce stress in horses during road transport. 相似文献
Stability of the genetic divergence among five non-commercial cacao cultivars at advanced ages was investigated over a five-year period (1986–1990). Cluster analysis was performed on five yield components measured on harvests from each crop year and on the data pooled over five years. The temporal stability was assessed by using clustering procedure, which involved the calculation Mahalanobis distance (D2) and of Tocher's algorithm applied to the distance matrix. The comparison of D2 and of clusters based upon pooled analysis, and taken as the standard, with D2 values and clusters obtained from each year showed a stable clustering pattern in the most favourable year. For the rest of the years, inconsistency in number and composition of clusters formed was observed. An optimum environment was shown to be important for better expressing divergence by D2. Consequently, the evaluation of the genetic divergence among the studied cultivars may be conducted based on a single favourable year. This will result in considerable savings in man power, financial resources, and time which would be wasted should the evaluation be extended for several years. 相似文献
The phytosanitary status of Tectona grandis plantations are monitored conventionally with periodic data collection in the field, which is often costly and has low efficiency. The objective of this research was to develop a methodology to predict the canopy cover of T. grandis plantations using multispectral images of the Sentinel-2 (S2) satellite and photographic imagery. The study was carried out in a T. grandis plantation of seminal origin, in Cáceres, Mato Grosso state, Brazil. Hemispherical photographic (HP) images of the plant canopy were obtained with a digital camera coupled to a “fisheye” lens fixed at 1.3 m high at two dates in the rainy and the dry season. Cloudless and no shadow images of the S2 satellite bands were concurrently obtained with the field images. Multivariate permutative analysis of variance (PERMANOVA) and partial least squares regression (PLSR) were used to predict canopy cover percentage. The accuracy of the predicted T. grandis canopy cover (%) by the PLSR model approach was 77.8?±?0.09%. The results indicate that a PLS model calibrated with 28 HP sample images can accurately estimate the percentage canopy cover for a continuous area of T. grandis plantations and facilitate mapping of canopy heterogeneity to monitor threats of diseases, mortality, fires, pests and other disturbances.
In this study, we describe three populations of the wild cotton Gossypium mustelinum Miers ex Watt in the coastal plain to the north of the State of Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil. These populations occur in urban areas in current expansion and under imminent risks of extinction, due to land use changes for house constructions. Distances between these new occurrences and the populations already mapped in the Northeast semiarid Caatinga (Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará, and Bahia) range from approximately 270–950 km. Besides distant, the populations on the coastal plain of Pernambuco also occur in very distinct climatic and edaphic conditions. Aiming at allowing the ex situ conservation of these genetic resources, branches of 66 plants were collected, propagated by the asexual breeding method cutting to regenerate an accession of each plant. These now constitute a germplasm collection in the Department of Agronomy of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. 相似文献
The partitioning behavior of the glutenin proteins was evaluated in aqueous two-phase systems (ATPSs) formed by sulfate salts (lithium or sodium) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with average molar mass of 1500 g mol−1 or 4000 g mol−1. The partition coefficients for the glutenin proteins in each ATPS were investigated as a function of the temperature (278.2 K–318.2 K), tie line length (TLL) and electrolyte nature. In all ATPS, the majority of glutenin proteins spontaneously concentrate in the polymer-rich phase (Kp > 1). The partition coefficient is very dependent on the salt nature and the ATPS formed by PEG + lithium sulfate presents higher Kp values as compared with the ATPS formed PEG + sodium sulfate. An increase of molar mass of polymer promotes a decrease of Kp. Thermodynamic parameters of transfer (ΔtrG, ΔtrH and ΔtrS) were obtained by the application of the Van’t Hoff equation (VHE). The values obtained by VHE indicate that the transfer of glutenin proteins to the polymer-rich phase has an enthalpic origin. 相似文献
