In this study, the effect of land-use treatments and the feasibility of fractal dimension to quantify soil aggregate stability were investigated in the central Zagrous, Iran. For this purpose, the non-linear fractal dimension (Dnl), linear fractal dimension (Dl) and the mean weight diameter (MWD) of aggregates were compared. Soil samples from three sites with four adjacent land-use types, namely: forest area (F), cultivated lands adjacent to forest (CAF), pasture (P) and cultivated lands adjacent to pasture (CAP) were collected. Results showed that soils under cultivated lands had higher bulk density (BD) (1.30–1.38 Mg m?3) compared to the adjacent soils under forest (1.19 Mg m?3) and pasture (1.21 Mg m?3). In the 0–15 cm layer, soil organic matter (SOM) content in the cultivated plots were respectively 30% and 31% lower compared to the forest and pasture soils. The lowest CVs belonged to Dnl (5–8%) demonstrating that Dnl was more accurate than Dl (8–14%) and MWD (30–53%) methods. CAP had the largest value of Dnl, while P had the smallest value of Dnl. Difference of Dnl between forest and pasture was not significant, whereas both of them significantly differed from CAF and CAP. Dl did not differ significantly between forest and CAF. There were significant differences between forest and pasture for the measured MWD. Both fractal dimensions had negative correlation with MWD, SOM, hydraulic conductivity (HC) and macroaggregates (>0.25 mm) and positive correlation with BD and total porosity (TP).  相似文献

Zinc deficiency in calcareous soils is a serious problem, which may be ameliorated by the application of some soil amendments. A completely randomized factorial experiment was done to investigate the effect of zeolite, vermicompost, zeolite + vermicompost, and Zn application to a calcareous soil on Zn availability, dry weight of spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.), and Zn concen-tration in spinach. Results indicated that zeolite had no effect on soil Zn availability, dry weight, and Zn concentration in spinach. Vermicompost significantly increased dry weight (1.33 g pot?1) and decreased Zn concentration in spinach (16 mg kg?1). Application of zeolite + vermicompost significantly increased dry weight (by 2.8 times) and Zn uptake in spinach and it also decreased Zn concentration in spinach less than vermicompost. Zinc application increased Zn concentration in spinach (up to 496 mg kg?1), but did not affect dry weight except in soils treated with zeolite + vermicompost. Generally, application of zeolite + vermicompost is recommended instead of separate zeolite or vermicompost application for improvement of soil Zn fertility and Zn uptake by spinach.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to test an artificial neural network (ANN) for converting pan evaporation data (E p) to estimate reference evapotranspiration (ET0) as a function of the maximum and minimum air temperature. The conventional method that uses Pan coefficient (K p) as a factor to convert E p to ET0, is also considered for the comparison. The ANN has been evaluated under semi-arid conditions in Safiabad Agricultural Research Center (SARC) in the southwest of Iran, comparing daily estimates against those from the FAO-56 Penman–Monteith equation (PM), which was used as standard. The comparison shows that, the conventional method underestimated ET0 obtained by the PM method. The ANN method gave better estimates than the conventional method that requires wind speed and humidity data.  相似文献

Using adjuvants to optimize and increase the efficacy of herbicides is an acceptable manner to reduce herbicides undesirable impact on the environment. Therefore, to detect suitable adjuvants for sethoxydim or fenoxaprop-p-ethyl, two dose-response experiments were conducted separately. The treatments consisted of six doses of sethoxydim or fenoxaprop-p-ethyl with and without adjuvants of Frigate, Citogate and Adigor against wild oat (Avena fatua L.). Moreover, the surface tension of a range of concentrations of adjuvants and adjuvants + sethoxydim or fenoxaprop-p-ethyl aqueous solutions was determined. Lower and higher surface tension values were obtained with aqueous solution of Citogate and Frigate alone and with herbicides. When adjuvants were combined with herbicides, wild oat control was significantly increased and was more than when were used alone. Between evaluated herbicides, adjuvant receptivity for sethoxydim was higher than for fenoxaprop-p-ethyl. Among evaluated adjuvants, the addition of Frigate and Adigor had the lowest and the highest effect, respectively, on the performance of sethoxydim or fenoxaprop-p-ethyl in controlling wild oat, which supports the solubilizing nature of cuticular waxes by Adigor as a theory.  相似文献

1.?Two routes of probiotic administration in broiler farms, in water and in feed, were compared using 360 one-day-old male broiler chickens. Controls received no probiotics or antimicrobials. The water group received a probiotic preparation at a rate of 0·5 g/l, and the feed group received it at an inclusion rate of 1 g/kg.

2.?Performance of broilers in terms body weight gain (BWG), feed intake (FI) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) improved when probiotic was provided via drinking water, compared to the control and feed groups. Probiotic administration reduced plasma cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations.

3.?Spleen (28 and 42 d) and bursa (42 d) relative weights were influenced by method of probiotic administration, which also improved T-cell dependent skin thickness response to phytohaemagglutinin (PHA) injection. The effect of challenge by dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) depended on the method of probiotic administration.

4.?The method of probiotic administration can influence the performance and immune competence of birds, and administration via drinking water appears to be superior to the more conventional in-feed supplementation method.  相似文献

Biomechanical characteristics of the root system of hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) were assessed by measuring Root Area Ratio (RAR) values and tensile strength of root specimens of eight hornbeam trees growing on hilly terrain of Northern Iran. RAR values of the roots were obtained using profile trenching method at soil depth of the top 0.1 m. In total 123 root specimens were analyzed for tensile strength. Results indicate that in general, RAR decreases with depth, following a power function. The RAR values in up and down slopes have no significant statistical differences. In most cases, the maximum RAR values were located in soil depth of the top 0.1 m, with maximum rooting depth at about 0.75 m. The minimum and maximum RAR values along the profiles were 0.004% and 6.431% for down slope and 0.004% and 3.995% for up slope, respectively. The number of roots in the up and down slope trenches was not significantly different. In the same manner as for RAR, number of roots distributing with depth was satisfactorily approximated a power function. The penetration depths of above 90 percent of the roots were at soil depths of 50 cm and 60 cm for up and down slopes, respectively. Results of Spearman's bivariate correlation showed no significant correlation between the RAR value with tree diameter and gradient of slope and number of roots. The mean value of root tensile strength was 31.51 ± 1.05 MPa and root tensile strength decreased with the increase in root diameter, following a power law equation. Using ANCOVA, we found intraspecies variation of tensile strength.  相似文献

In recent decades, the conversion of forest to agricultural land has been a major worldwide concern and a cause of environmental and soil-quality degradation. In this study, soil-quality indices (SQIs) were applied using several soil properties to determine the effects of land use on soil quality in a 206.50 km2 area in Kurdistan Province, Iran. The Weighted Additive Soil Quality Index (SQIw) was calculated using two scoring methods and two soil indicator selection approaches. Nine soil-quality indicators/variables were measured for 124 soil samples (0–30 cm depth). Calculated SQIs were digitally mapped with a random forest (RF) model using auxiliary data. The RF model was the best predictor of the SQI computed using the total dataset (TDS) and linear score function (SQIw-TDS-linear). Soil quality was better estimated using non-linear scoring (r2 = 0.82) than with linear scoring (r2 = 0.73). The mean values of all SQIs were significantly greater in forestland than cropland. It is clear that soil quality is considerably reduced by deforestation, and that best management practices that maintain soil quality and reduce erosion must be developed for the soils of this region if they are to remain productive.  相似文献

The competitive effects of wild mustard on rapeseed with organic amendments and urea alone or combined were studied for 2 years. Treatments consisted of three Sinapis arvensis densities and fertilizer treatments of composted cattle manure, composted municipal waste, urea nitrogen, a combination CCM+urea, a combination of CMW+urea, and a control. Weed growth was stronger in urea fertilizer and with combined organic amendments than in organic amendments alone. However, application of organic amendments could increase weed competitive ability. In the first year, urea fertilizer alone and combined with organic amendments led to the greatest rapeseed yield, but in the following year, organic amendments alone were able to increase rapeseed yield approximately equal to urea fertilizer and combined with organic amendments. Application of organic amendments alone or combined with N fertilizer could be an efficient method to increase soil productivity.  相似文献

This study evaluates the performances of a combination of genetic programming and soil depth functions to map the three-dimensional distribution of cation exchange capacity (CEC) in a semiarid region located in Baneh region, Iran. Using the conditioned Latin hypercube sampling method, the locations of 188 soil profiles were selected, which were then sampled and analyzed. In general, results showed that equal-area quadratic splines had the highest R2, 89%, in fitting the vertical CEC distribution compared to power and logarithmic functions with R2 of 81% and 84%, respectively. Our findings indicated some auxiliary variables had more influence on the prediction of CEC. Normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) had the highest correlation with CEC in the upper two layers. However, the most important auxiliary data for prediction of CEC in 30–60 cm and 60–100 cm were topographic wetness index and profile curvature, respectively. Validation of the predictive models at each depth interval resulted in R2 values ranging from 66% (0–15 cm) to 19% (60–100 cm). Overall, results indicated the topsoil can be reasonably well predicted; however, the subsoil prediction needs to be improved. We can recommend the use of the developed methodology in mapping CEC in other parts in Iran.  相似文献

Different N sources (NO3, NH4+, or NH4NO3) at different relative addition rates (RAR) were supplied to cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.), a species sensitive to NH4+ toxicity. For comparison, cucumber plants were also grown at constant concentrations of 1 and 5 mM NH4+ or 5 mM NO3. The fresh weight of NH4+-fed plants at RAR 0.15 and RAR 0.25 day−1 was similar to that of NO3-fed plants, while at RAR 0.35 or RAR 0.45 day−1 growth reduction occurred. When available as a constant concentration, NH4+ decreased plant growth at 5 mM. It is concluded that at low rates of N supply the relative addition rate technique can be used for growing cucumber plants with NH4+ as sole N source without deleterious effects.  相似文献
