Metal content was determined in 26 samples of virgin argan oil from Morocco. An ETA-AAS with previous sample dilution with MIBK technique was used. In oil obtained by traditional method, Fe ranged from 0.8 to 4.0 mg/kg, Cu from 160.4 to 695.7 microg/kg, Cr from 10.3 to 55.3 microg/kg, Mn from 18.1 to 70.8 microg/kg, and Pb from 28.5 to 450.0 microg/kg. In oil obtained by a half-industrialized method, Fe ranged from 0.8 to 1.7 mg/kg, Cu from 158.4 to 385.0 microg/kg, Cr from 10.0 to 48.1 microg/kg, Mn from 15.0 to 68.5 microg/kg, and Pb from 32.0 to 100.0 microg/kg. Acidity value, peroxide index, K270 and K232, humidity and sludge volatile, and insoluble sludges in petroleum ether were also determined. A high variability in these quality parameters and a decrease of the quality in the oils obtained by the traditional method were observed. 相似文献

Food allergy has become a public health problem that continues to challenge both the public and the food industry. The objective of this research was the detection and quantification of the major human allergenic soy proteins and to study the reduction in immunoreactivity and improvement of amino acid content after fermentation of soybean flour. Fermentation was carried out in the solid state of cracked seeds inoculated with Aspergillus oryzae, Rhizopus oryzae, and Bacillus subtilis and in the liquid state of milled soybean flours fermented naturally by microorganisms present only in the seeds or by inoculation with Lactobacillus plantarum. ELISA and Western blot were used to quantify IgE antibody response, and HPLC was used to identify and quantify total amino acids. L. plantarum fermented soy flour showed the highest reduction in IgE immunoreactivity (96-99%) depending upon the sensitivity of the plasma used. Among the solid fermented products, the lowest reduction in immunoreactivity was obtained when mold strains, R. oryzae and A. oryzae, were used (66 and 68%, respectively, for human plasma 97.5 kUA/L). Among the solid fermented products, those inoculated with B. subtilis yielded a 81 and 86% reduction in immunoreactivity against both human plasma 97.5 IgE kUA/L and human pooled plasma samples, respectively. When soybean was subjected to liquid fermentation, most of the total amino acids increased significantly ( p < or = 0.05). In solid fermentation with R. oryzae, only Ala and Thr content improved. Fermentation can decrease soy immunoreactivity, and there is potential of developing nutritious hypoallergenic soy products. 相似文献

The effect of various oak wood seasoning methods, natural seasoning in open air, artificial seasoning in a kiln, and a mixed method that combines open air and kiln drying, on the chemical composition in American ( Quercus alba) and French ( Quercus petraea) oak was studied. The results confirm the evolution of ellagitannins in wood, low molecular polyphenols, and volatile compounds in relation to oak species and seasoning method. Natural seasoning in open air can be considered a superior method to mixed or artificial drying for wood seasoning in cooperage. It was more effective in reducing the excess of ellagitannins, especially in French oak wood. Moreover, the evolution of wood volatile compounds was more positive in the natural seasoning than mixed or artificial drying, since it led to woods with higher aromatic potential (larger concentrations of compounds such as volatile phenols, phenolic aldehydes, furanic compounds, and cis- and trans-beta-methyl-gamma-octalactones) than mixed or artificial methods. However, the three seasoning methods showed similar effectiveness regarding the desired reduction of off-flavors compounds. 相似文献

The enzymatic transgalactosylation during lactulose hydrolysis was studied using the beta-galactosidase from Kluyveromyces lactis and an initial lactulose concentration of 250 g/L. During hydrolysis of lactulose, the formation of two novel trisaccharides was followed by high-performance anion-exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection (HPAEC-PAD). A maximum trisaccharide yield of 14.05% was observed at 91.9% of lactulose hydrolysis. The two novel trisaccharides obtained by transglycosylation of lactulose were isolated and fully characterized by an extensive nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) study. Complete structure elucidation and full proton and carbon assignment were carried out using 1D ( 1H, 13C, and 1D TOCSY) and 2D (gCOSY, TOCSY, ROESY, gHSQC, and gHMBC) NMR experiments. The trisaccharides were shown to be lactulose-based structures; the main one has a Gal unit linked to C-6 of the galactose moiety, and the other one has a Gal unit linked to C-1 of the fructose moiety. Transglycosylation of lactulose allows for the obtention of galacto-oligosaccharides with new glycosidic structures and would open new routes to the synthesis of prebiotics. 相似文献

Samples of Spanish virgin olive oils (VOOs) from different categories, origins, varieties, and commercial brands were analyzed by HPLC with a programmable fluorescence detector to determine the content of nine heavy polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs): benzo(a)anthracene, chrysene, benzo(e)pyrene, benzo(b)fluoranthene, benzo(k)fluoranthene, benzo(a)pyrene, dibenzo(a,h)anthracene, benzo(g,h,i)perilene, and indeno(1,2,3-c,d)pyrene. Samples of olive pomace and crude olive pomace oils were also investigated. Benzo(a)pyrene concentrations were below the allowed limit in the European Union (2 microg/kg) in 97% of the VOO samples. Only those samples coming from contaminated olive fruits or obtained in oil mills with highly polluted environments exceeded this value. High correlation coefficients (<0.99) were obtained between the contents of benzo(a)pyrene and the sum of the nine PAHs for all of the analyzed categories, suggesting that benzo(a)pyrene could be used as a marker of the content of these nine PAHs in olive oils. 相似文献

The FeEDDHA [iron(3+) ethylenediamine di(o-hydroxyphenylacetic) acid] is one of the most efficient iron chelates employed in the correction of iron clorosis in calcareous soils. FeEDDHA presents different positional isomers: the ortho-ortho (o,o), the ortho-para (o,p), and the para-para (p,p). Of these isomers, the p,p cannot chelate Fe in soil solution in a wide range of pH values, while both o,o and o,p can. The objective of this work was to compare the efficiency of both isomers (o,o and o,p) to provide Fe to two Strategy I plants (tomato and peach) in nutrient solution (pH approximately 6.0), as well as in calcareous soil (pH approximately 8.4; CALCIXEREPT). For this, chelates of both o,o-EDDHA and o,p-EDDHA with 57Fe (a nonradioactive isotope of Fe) were used, where the 57Fe acts as a tracer. The results obtained showed that the o,o isomer is capable of providing sufficient Fe to plants in both nutrient solution and calcareous soil. Rill hydraulics (and hence, flow detachment) are modified by the presence of incorporated vegetation residue. Typically, water flow in the rill is retarded due to the extra shear stress generated by the residue. The main objective of this study was to develop an approach to predict soil detachment by rill flow in the presence of freshly incorporated vegetation residue that is compatible with our current understanding of rill hydraulics and requires no additional information on rill geometry. The aim of this study was to determine whether experimental-created wetlands affect soils by altering the levels of soil organic matter (SOM), inorganic nutrients contributed by fertilization and soil salinity/sodicity. We compared the properties of soils in permanently and intermittently flooded experimental wetlands artificially created in conventionally tilled agricultural areas 7 years after abandonment. To assess the long-term effects of wetlands, 18 wetlands created spontaneously by flooding with water from irrigated fields were compared to nearby croplands. Experimental-created wetlands did not exhibit a significant increase in SOM, but soil salinity was reduced, and inorganic nutrients were significantly lower than they were in the reduced in regard to reference croplands. In the soils of the observational natural wetlands that formed after irrigation, SOM increased significantly, and the levels of inorganic nutrients and salinity were reduced compared to agricultural soils. In the Ebro river Basin, 7 years of restoration might not be sufficient time for a significant accumulation of SOM but, after a prolonged period (40 years), SOM increased. In experimental-created wetlands, inorganic nutrients were slowly converted into SOM, but a portion of the NO3-N was denitrified, and some of the P was adsorbed by soil particles. Loquat species (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) originated in China, later was introduced in Japan. However, introduction in Europe occurred much later, in 18th
century, it was introduced as an ornamental tree. Since then, the species was very well adapted to the Mediterranean climate,
mainly in South East of Spain, where is located more than 50% of total European crop production. A European Project titled
‘Conservation, evaluation and collection of underutilized fruit species’ supported surveys and collection of plant material
from these species in the Mediterranean basin countries. One of these surveys resulted in a germplasm collection of loquat
established at IVIA, Valencia, Spain. This collection is being extended with new accessions collected across the world, currently
the collection have 123 accessions under study. Germplasm management needs first a characterization of the plant material
introduced and second diversity studies into the collection that could point out the variability pattern, to establish groups
of accessions with similar traits and the most significant variables. These results allow organizing the information gathered
for further uses. In this paper, 62 accessions from the IVIA germplasm collection were studied. Results from 43 variables
were gathered and data studied by multivariate analysis. The analysis allowed summarizing the data tables with new variables
containing most of the information. These results along with those obtained in the coming years will allow define a nuclear
