Out of 851 soybean accessions from Vietnam, China and Japan analyzed for 7S β-subunit variants, a new β-reduced subunit line with normal growth was collected from the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Protein of the `β-reduced' line is composed of β-reduced and extremely low-β types. (α-null + β-reduced) type and β-null (or extremely low-β) type were screened in the progeny seeds of the Japanese mutant `(α + β) null' line. Therefore, recombination between α- and β-subunits was identified. By comparing the nucleotide sequence of the partial β-subunit gene of Enrei (standard), Mo-shi-dou Gong 503 (α + β low), β-533 seed (β-reduced), β-57 seed (extremely low-β), and (α + β)-null16((α + β) null) seed, we found that the base `T' at 166 bp, in Enrei changed to `G' in Mo-shi-dou Gong 503, β-533 and β-57. Using the (α + β)-null16 individual as template, a distinct 305 bp β-subunit gene fragment was identified, instead of a 285 bp fragment. 相似文献

The antioxidant activity of nine anthocyanin glycosides was measured in a neutral pH region using a chemiluminescence (CL) emission system in the presence of an H(2)O(2)-acetaldehyde system, and the intensities were found to be affected by three factors, pH value and both moieties of the aglycon and C-3 sugar. With an increase in pH from 4.0 to 9.0, the CL intensities increased from pH 5.0, reached their maxima at pH 6.0-7.0, and decreased at pH 9.0. Comparison of the intensities among the 3-glucosides with five different aglycons and the 3-glycosides with three different sugar moieties at C-3 showed that their strongest intensities were given by the delphinidin aglycon and 3-rutinosyl moiety, respectively. Monitoring of the CL intensity of human blood plasma for 8 h after oral administration of black currant anthocyanins (BCA) showed a rapid increase until 2 h, and a significant difference (P < 0.05) was recognized at 1-8 h. 相似文献

Self-incompatibility (SI) response in Brassica is initiated by haplotype-specific interactions between the pollen-borne ligand S locus protein 11/SCR and its stigmatic S receptor kinase, SRK. This binding induces autophosphorylation of SRK, which is then thought to trigger a signaling cascade that leads to self-pollen rejection. A recessive mutation of the modifier (m) gene eliminates the SI response in stigma. Positional cloning of M has revealed that it encodes a membrane-anchored cytoplasmic serine/threonine protein kinase, designated M locus protein kinase (MLPK). Transient expression of MLPK restores the ability of mm papilla cells to reject self-pollen, suggesting that MLPK is a positive mediator of Brassica SI signaling. 相似文献

The impact of winter cover crops, specifically wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), red clover (Trifolium pratense L.), and rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) or winter fallow, on community composition of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in subsequent soybean roots was investigated in a 5-year field trial on andosolic soils in Japan. Soybean roots were sampled at full-flowering and analyzed for AMF communities using a partial LSU rDNA region. Phylogenetic analysis detected 22 AMF phylotypes, including eight Glomus, three Gigaspora, two Scutellospora, three Acaulospora, two Rhizophagus, and one of Funneliformis, Diversispora, Paraglomus, and an unknown glomeromycete in the roots. The 5-year rotation of different winter cover crops or winter fallow did not impact the molecular diversity of AMF communities colonizing the roots of subsequent soybean. In all of the rotations, Glomus and Gigaspora phylotypes were common to soybean roots over the 5-year period. Redundancy analysis (RDA) demonstrated that AMF communities in the roots of subsequent soybean were not significantly different among winter cover crop rotations or fallow. However, AMF communities in soybean roots were clearly influenced by rotation year suggesting that climate or other environmental factors were more important than winter cover cropping system management. 相似文献

AIM: To study the inhibitory effect of CoQ10 on the apoptosis of microvascular endothelial cells and it's probable mechanism. METHODS: Using serum pharmacology method and cytoflowmetery, the effects of CoQ10 at different concentrations on apoptosis and proliferation in cultured mouse brain microvascular endothelial cells (bEnd.3) were investigated. The expression of Fas protein and Bcl-2 protein were observed with immunocytochemical method (ABC). RESULTS: The cell apoptosis was inhibited significantly in CoQ10 groups (50 μL and 25 μL) in cultured bEnd.3 cells. The results of immunocytochemical staining showed that the expressions of Fas protein was inhibited and Bcl-2 protein was stimulated significantly in CoQ10 group with above concentration. But there was no significant change in cell proliferation. CONCLUSIONS: CoQ10 may inhibit apoptosis of microvascular endothelial cells (bEnd.3) via up-regulation of Bcl-2 and down-regulation of Fas. Authors suggest that this is one of the protection mechanisms of CoQ10 from dysfunction of microvascular endothelial cells. 相似文献

In the present study, we examined specific markers for taste bud cells in the mouse and the postnatal development of volatile papilla taste bud cells in ddY mice. We examined the immunoreactivity of 4 types of carbonic anhydrase isoenzymes, CA I, CA II, CA III and CA VI, as specific markers for taste bud cells, and K8.13 cytokeratin antibody as a specific marker for the lingual epithelial cells. Of the carbonic anhydrase isoenzymes, only CA III immunoreactivity was clearly detected in the spindle shaped gustatory cells. CA VI immunoreactivity was detectable in suspentacular cells. CA I and CA II antibodies did not recognize any taste bud cell specifically. K8.13 cytokeratin immunoreactivity was detected in the lingual epithelial cells, but not in taste bud cells. At 7 days after birth, the suckling phase, very small taste buds developed from the anaplastic gustatory cells. At 14 days after birth, the taste buds showed larger size than those at 7 days after birth. At 21 days birth, after the weaning phase, taste bud structure approximated the mature structure. These results demonstrate the specificity of anti-CA III and anti-CA VI for gustatory cells and suspentacular cells, respectively. Forest policy and sustainable forest management in Bangladesh: an analysis from national and international perspectives 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
This paper includes a review of international sustainable forestry development followed by an analysis of forest policies
in Bangladesh. There have been four different government forest policies in Bangladesh since 1894. The first two forest policies
(1894 and 1955) were exploitative in nature. Most of the regulatory documents were developed during the first two policy periods.
The third forest policy instituted in 1979 by the sovereign Bangladesh government had contradictory elements and mutually
inconsistent policy statements. It addressed for the first time forestry extension through mass motivation campaign. Current
forest policy formulated in 1994 has been considered to be the most elaborate policy in the history of the country. Under
this policy, participatory social forestry has been institutionalized in Bangladesh. The analysis shows that, although it
is possible to attain the stated policy targets, progress is slow and is blocked on several fronts. A number of identified
technical, managerial and logistical problems are hindering policy and program implementation. In addition, corruption contributes
to the observed problems. The real strength of Bangladesh forestry is locally based, participatory forestry, co-management
of protected areas and highly motivated people who increasingly recognize the need for a healthy forest ecosystem that will
provide future economic stability. Because it is the rich homestead forests of Bangladesh that generate the majority of commercial
forestry products, it is important that education continues at the grass-roots level. In addition, educated forestry and environment
professionals have been identified as the future driving forces towards better, and sustainable, forest management. Results
of this study make it clear that Bangladesh and other developing countries are not presently in a position to accept and adopt
internationally derived forest policies due to inadequate institutional support, political instability and poor governance.
Therefore, along with development of criteria and indicators of sustainable forest management and forest certification, international
policy scientists must consider institutional development, professional skill development, identification and adoption of
indigenous technology and long-term financial support in developing countries. Without these, all international processes,
policies and directives will be of little value and produce few substantive results. 相似文献

In soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill], the genetic analysis of seed yield is important to aid in the breeding of high-yielding cultivars. Seed yield is a complex trait, and the number of quantitative trait loci (QTL) involved in seed yield is high. The aims of this study were to identify QTL associated with seed yield and validate their effects on seed yield using near-isogenic lines. The QTL analysis was conducted using a recombinant inbred line population derived from a cross between Japanese cultivars ‘Toyoharuka’ and ‘Toyomusume’, and eight seed yield-associated QTL were identified. There were significant positive correlations between seed yield and the number of favorable alleles at QTL associated with seed yield in the recombinant inbred lines for three years. The effects of qSY8-1, a QTL promoting greater seed yield, was validated in the Toyoharuka background. In a two-year yield trial, the 100-seed weight and seed yield of Toyoharuka-NIL, the near-isogenic line having the Toyomusume allele at qSY8-1, were significantly greater than those of Toyoharuka (106% and 107%, respectively) without any change for days to flowering and maturity. Our results suggest that qSY8-1 was not associated with maturity genes, and contributed to the 100-seed weight. 相似文献

This macroscopic study firstly examined the precise locational information of the canine ciliary body, i.e., the ciliary crown and the ciliary ring in the beagle. The safe and effective transscleral laser photocoagulation technique requires the accurate location of the ciliary body. In both sides of the eyeball in 10 beagle dogs, the width of the ciliary ring and the distance from the limbus to the ciliary ring were measured with calipers using a stereomicroscope at the 8 points. The widest portion of ciliary body was found at the dorsal to ventro-temporal area of the lateral canthus (lateral portion of the eyelid; ear side). In contrast, the narrowest portion was seen at the ventro-nasal to nasal area of the medial canthus (medial portion of the eyelid; nasal quadrants). Use of transscleral photocoagulation at the present narrowest area of ciliary body may carry a high risk of destruction of the optic portion of retina. 相似文献

Soils of the northwestern part of the Taal Volcano in the Philippines representing four geomorphological units (upper, middle, and lower slopes and alluvial plains) were investigated and related to soil productivity. Results revealed that the soils on the upper and middle slopes contained higher amounts of organic matter and available P and displayed a low P retention together with more favorable physical properties such as loamy soil texture, loose and friable and well-drained soils compared to those on the lower slopes and in the alluvial plains. Due to these favorable soil characteristics, sustained agricultural production was higher at the upper elevations than at the lower elevations. Year-round multistorey / mixed cropping systems of cultivation in the upper and middle landscapes were also made possible because the higher precipitation was evenly distributed coupled with cooler temperatures compared the conditions on the lower slopes and in the alluvial plains. On the other hand, the soils on the lower slopes and in the alluvial plains had a clayey texture and contained a lower amount of organic matter and available P, in addition to the lower precipitation, resulting in reduced land utilization, as indicated by the limited types of crops grown and lower yield of crops. 相似文献
