The aim of the present work was to identify and quantify the phenolic compounds and fatty acids in acorns from Quercus ilex, Quercus rotundifolia, and Quercus suber. The concentration of oleic acid was >63% of total fatty acids in all cases, followed by palmitic and linoleic acids at similar concentrations (12-20%). The concentrations of alpha-tocopherol in Q. rotundifolia, Q. ilex, and Q. suber were 19, 31, and 38 mg/kg of dry matter (DM), respectively, whereas the concentrations of gamma-tocopherol were 113, 66, and 74 mg/kg of DM, respectively. Thirty-two different phenolic compounds were distinguished. All of them were gallic acid derivatives, in the form of either galloyl esters of glucose, combinations of galloyl and hexahydroxydiphenoyl esters of glucose, tergallic O- or C-glucosides, or ellagic acid derivatives. Several tergallic acid C-glucosides were also present in the extracts obtained from Q. suber. Acorns from Q. ilex and Q. rotundifolia showed similar polyphenol patterns mainly with gallic acid-like spectra. Chromatograms of Q. suber showed mainly polyphenols with ellagic acid-like spectra. Valoneic acid dilactone was especially abundant in Q. suber skin. The contribution of skin to the total phenolics of the acorn was relatively small in Q. rotundifolia and Q. ilex but relatively high in Q. suber. Skin extracts from Q. suber, Q. rotundifolia, and Q. ilex showed 1.3, 1.4, and 1.0 antioxidant efficiencies, respectively (compared to that of butylhydroxyanisole). A cDNA encoding a dehydrin was isolated from the flavedo of the chilling-sensitive Fortune mandarin fruit (Citrus clementina Hort. Ex Tanaka x Citrus reticulata Blanco) and designed as Crcor15. The predicted CrCOR15 protein is a K2S member of a closely related dehydrin family from Citrus, since it contains two tandem repeats of the unusual Citrus K-segment and one S-segment (serine cluster) at an unusual C-terminal position. Crcor15 mRNA is consistently and highly expressed in the flavedo during fruit development and maturation. The relative abundance of Crcor15 mRNA in the flavedo was estimated to be higher than 1% of total RNA. The high mRNA level remained unchanged during fruit storage at chilling (2 degrees C) and nonchilling (12 degrees C) temperatures, and it was depressed by a conditioning treatment (3 days at 37 degrees C) that induced chilling tolerance. Therefore, the expression of Crcor15 appears not to be related to the acquisition of chilling tolerance in mandarin fruits. However, Crcor15, which was barely detected in unstressed mandarin leaves, was rapidly induced in response to both low temperature and water stress. COR15 protein was expressed in Escherichia coli, and the purified protein conferred in vitro protection against freezing and dehydration inactivation. Reproductive efficiency of the largest individuals and a random group of broodstock of crayfish Procambarus acanthophorus was measured using two commercial shrimp feeds, Feed 1 (F1) broodstocks (40%/9% protein/lipids) and Feed 2 (F2) growth-out (35%/7% protein/lipids). An experimental design of four treatments with two replicates was used. Females were labeled with elastomers to determine the time between spawning and number of offspring per treatment. The number of ovigerous females in the largest individuals fed F2 (58) was significantly higher than ovigerous females in the control group fed F1 (30).The number of young crayfish per female produced in the largest individuals (173 ± 71.6) treatment was significantly higher than the crayfish produced in the control group (86.6 ± 42.6). - Emerging rocky substrates next to the shelf break at approximately 120 m appear intensively exploited by this eurybathic rhynchonelliformean brachiopod, attaining a population of more than 300 individuals per m2.
- Calcareous red algae are almost ubiquitous at this site and preferentially encrust sectors of the substrate where brachiopods are minimal.
- This Megerlia biotope is a novel finding for this part of the Mediterranean Sea, similar to a situation previously observed in the Western Basin, off the Mediterranean French coast.
- It is proposed that this remarkable brachiopod biotope and the adjacent rhodolith bed are considered important for conservation management.

The European Non‐native Species in Aquaculture Risk Analysis Scheme (ENSARS) was used to assess one of the most popular aquaculture species in the world, the striped catfish Pangasianodon hypophthalmus (Sauvage, 1878), in two locations of southern Anatolia (Turkey). The overall mean risk score generated for P. hypophthalmus by the ENSARS Organism module (which assesses the risks of introduction, establishment, dispersal and impact) indicated that the species poses a medium risk under current climatic conditions. All other ENSARS modules rendered scores that indicated a moderately low risk under current climatic conditions. However, the risks of introducing novel diseases and the actual use (e.g. deliberate introduction to the natural habitats or food market) of the species both attracted scores indicating a medium risk. Confidence levels were medium or high for all modules except the Socio‐economic, with low confidence values also attributed to the risks for farming process of the organism, and its overall risk of spread into the wild during farming procedures and to marketing impacts. Recommendations are provided for further use of the ENSARS scheme, especially for a a priori assessment of potential aquaculture species in Turkey, where the sector has been remarkably developing in the last decades. 相似文献

AFLP markers were used to characterize diversity and asses the genetic structure among 17 accessions of kale landraces, cultivars
and wild populations from Europe. The range of average gene diversity in accessions was 0.11–0.27. Several landraces showed
higher levels of diversity than the wild populations and one cultivar had the lowest diversity measures. The landraces that
were most genetically diverse were from areas where kales are known to be extensively grown, suggesting in situ conservation in these areas as a supplement to storage of seeds in gene banks. An analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA)
showed that 62% of the total variation was found within accessions. For most accessions, genetic distance was not related
to geographic distance. Similarities among accessions were probably not caused by recent gene flow since they were widely
separated geographically; more likely the relationship among them is due to seed dispersal through human interactions. Our
results indicate that a kale population found in a natural habitat in Denmark was probably not truly wild but most likely

Posidonia oceanica (L.) Delile is traditionally used for its beneficial properties. Recently, promising antioxidant and anti-inflammatory biological properties emerged through studying the in vitro activity of the ethanolic leaves extract (POE). The present study aims to investigate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic role of POE in mice. Inflammatory pain was modeled in CD-1 mice by the intraplantar injection of carrageenan, interleukin IL-1β and formalin. Pain threshold was measured by von Frey and paw pressure tests. Nociceptive pain was studied by the hot-plate test. POE (10–100 mg kg−1) was administered per os. The paw soft tissue of carrageenan-treated animals was analyzed to measure anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. POE exerted a dose-dependent, acute anti-inflammatory effect able to counteract carrageenan-induced pain and paw oedema. Similar anti-hyperalgesic and anti-allodynic results were obtained when inflammation was induced by IL-1β. In the formalin test, the pre-treatment with POE significantly reduced the nocifensive behavior. Moreover, POE was able to evoke an analgesic effect in naïve animals. Ex vivo, POE reduced the myeloperoxidase activity as well as TNF-α and IL-1β levels; further antioxidant properties were highlighted as a reduction in NO concentration. In the near future, composted bio‐solids are expected to play a major role in agriculture. In order to evaluate their contribution to plant growth and nutrition, a mixed sorghum–poultry manure compost was prepared using 15N‐labeled materials. Four treatments were compared in a pot trial: fertilized with compost vs. unfertilized, both of them combined with (cultivated) and without (bare) plants of fibre sorghum (Sorghum bicolor [L.] Moench.). Soil mineral nitrogen (N‐min), plant growth, and N uptake were monitored over a whole growing season (167 d after fertilizer treatment; DAT). Apparent soil mineralization (ASM) and apparent recovery fraction of nitrogen by the plant (ARF) were assessed, as well as the 15N recovery fraction by the plant (15NRF). Compost enhanced sorghum biomass at mid growth (+ 200% of dry weight compared to the unfertilized). However, the difference between the control and the fertilized plants progressively decreased towards the end of the season (+ 70%). Fertilized and unfertilized plants followed different growth patterns over time, although of the same sigmoid type. Conversely, N concentration in plant tissues followed a common dilution curve, indicating that fertilized sorghum efficiently used the supplied N, avoiding luxury consumption. Apparent soil mineralization approximately reached 45% of compost total N in pots without plants. Apparent recovery fraction attained 100% at about two third of the growing season (DAT 111), then declined to about 50% because of root and leaf decline. Compared to it, 15NRF only reached ≈ 20% at mid growth (DAT 83), then declined to 12%. Despite the large difference in absolute values, ARF and 15NRF exhibited a significant correlation, indicating a common trend in time. In contrast to 15NRF, the amount of nutrient derived from fertilizer (Ndff) taken up by the plant decreased over the growth season, proving that compost contributed more to plant nutrition in the early (Ndff ≈ 50%) than in the late growing season (Ndff ≈ 25%). The large difference between ARF and 15NRF suggests that sorghum exerted a strong nutrient demand on the soil and on the fertilizer. Both 15NRF and ARF are considered valuable traits: the former better describes fertilizer behavior and actual supply of N, while the latter outlines the overall effect of fertilizer application on crop nutrition. 相似文献
