A 2-year field experiment was conducted to determine crop yield and N use efficiency (NUE) from a saline–sodic soil (clay loam) with and without application of gypsum. Treatments included two N application rates (15% and 30%) higher than the recommended one to the normal soil, and gypsum added at 50% and 100% of soil gypsum requirement (SGR) to the saline–sodic soil, both cultivated with rice and wheat during 2011–2013. Results revealed a decrease in pH of saturated soil paste (pHs), electrical conductivity of saturation extract (ECe), sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and exchangeable sodium percentage with N fertilizer along with gypsum application in saline–sodic soil. However, the effect was most prominent when gypsum was added at 50% of SGR. Crop yield and NUE remained significantly lower (p < 0.05) in saline–sodic-soils as compared to normal soil. However, gypsum application reduced this difference from 47% to 17% since both yield and NUE increased considerably. Crop yield and NUE remained higher for wheat than for rice. During first year, higher doses of N with gypsum application at 50% SGR proved most effective, whereas, in subsequent year, recommended N along with gypsum at 50% SGR became more profitable. All these results lead us to conclude that gypsum application can ameliorate saline–sodic soil thereby increasing crop yield and NUE.  相似文献

For estimating infiltration properties of surface irrigation, some ‘quick’ and easy methods have been developed. The main objective of this study was to evaluate different ‘quick’ methods and to compare the obtained results with two new methods proposed based on the Shepard one-point approach. For this purpose, data sets measured in six borders and five furrows were used for evaluating different methods. Using the volume balance equation and estimated infiltration parameters, the total infiltrated volume and advance times were predicted to evaluate the accuracy of estimated infiltration parameters. The results showed that the modified Mailapalli and Elliott and Walker methods provided the lowest errors for both furrow and border irrigations. The Elliott and Walker method predicted advance times with highest accuracy. There was very small difference between the Shepard and new proposed one-point methods. The performance of the Elliott and Walker method was slightly better than the new proposed two-point method for the experimental furrows, while a minor difference was found for the experimental borders. The results also showed that the performance of the Elliot and Walker method would be improved using binomial approximation instead of Kiefer approximation.  相似文献

Since the limiting factor of the bipolar membrane electroacidification (BMEA) process at 20% WPI (whey protein isolate) was hypothesized to be the lack of mobile ion inherent to the protein solution at pH 5.0, the aim of the present work is to study the effect of the conductivity control on the precipitation behavior of whey protein. BMEA performances were evaluated by measuring electrodialytic parameters, protein kinetic precipitation, molecular profiles, and isolate chemical composition and purity. The highest protein precipitation with 10% WPI solution was obtained at pH 4.6 and at a conductivity level of 200 microS/cm maintained with many 0.4-mL additions of 1.0 M KCl (200 microS[+]), with a 46% precipitation of the total protein, beta-lg composing the main part of the precipitated protein. With a 20% WPI solution, it was possible to reach pH 4.65 with conductivity control at 350 microS/cm. However, the 27% protein precipitation was still low. The changes in viscosity as pH decreases observed at 20% WPI would decreased the final precipitation rate of beta-lg, since the viscosity of the 20% WPI dispersion was very different.  相似文献

In the present study, cellulose nanofibers composite films were manufactured based on thermoplastic starch. Nanofibers were extracted from rice straw employing a developed chemo-mechanical method. In the chemical step, almost all of non-cellulosic components were removed and a white pulp of cellulose microfibers was obtained. Then, a diluted suspension of fibers was ultrasonicated to destruct intermolecular hydrogen bonds achieving nanofibers networks. Afterward, bio-nanocomposites were prepared by film casting. In order to study the effect of nanofibers content on the composite properties, the mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties, morphology, humidity absorption, and transparency of films were investigated. The yield strength and Young modulus of nanocomposites were satisfactorily enhanced compared to the pure thermoplastic starch film. The glass transition temperature of films was shifted to higher temperatures by increasing nanofibers contents. The uniform dispersion of the nanofibers was investigated using SEM images. The humidity absorption resistance of films was significantly enhanced by using 10 wt% cellulose nanofibers. The transparency of the nanocomposites was reduced compared to the pure starch films.  相似文献

An acetone extract from the aerial parts of Euphorbia bungei afforded three new (2, 3 and 5) and one known (4) macrocyclic diterpenoids. Several cycloartane triterpenoids were also obtained, two of which (6a and 6b) were assayed for antiviral effects. There is little information regarding the chromosomal regions conferring zinc (Zn) accumulation in barley. With the aim of developing markers for Zn accumulation, 150 lines derived from cross between ‘Clipper’ (low-Zn-accumulator) and ‘Sahara’ (high-Zn-accumulator) were screened. In field-grown plants, two regions located on 2HS and 2HL were associated with seed Zn concentration and content. 2HS was flanked by Xbcd175 and Xpsr108; 2HL was flanked by vrs1 and XksuF15 markers. These two regions accounted for 45% of total variation in seed Zn concentration and 59% of total variation in seed Zn content. In a glasshouse experiment, 2HS and 2HL were also associated with seed Zn concentration and content, and explained 37% and 55% of the total variation in seed Zn concentration and content, respectively. The identification of these Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) provides an important starting point for transferring and pyramiding genes that may contribute to the improvement of barley productivity and nutritional quality in Zn-deficient environments.  相似文献

In order to study the effects of seed nitrogen content and biofertilizer priming on germination indices of wheat seeds under salinity stress, a factorial experiment based on a completely randomized design with four replications was conducted in 2009. Experimental factors consisted of: (1) the application of different nitrogen fertilizer rates (0, 55, 110 and 165 kg ha?1 N) on parent plants; (2) priming of achieved seeds by biofertilizers (Nitragin, Biophosphorus and distilled water); and (3) different levels of salinity produced by NaCl (0, ?0.4, ?0.8 and ?1.2 MPa). Germination percentage, germination rate, mean germination time, germination index, radicle and plumule length, radicle and plumule dry weight and radicle number per seedling were measured. Nitrogen application increased seed nitrogen content in parent plants. All germination indices decreased with increasing in salinity levels. Biofertilizer priming, especially Nitragin, had a positive effect on germination percentage, radicle number and radicle and plumule length in most salinity levels. The highest values for germination factors were related to achieved seeds from parent plants that were treated with 110 kg ha?1 N. Overall, application of middle levels of N fertilizer (55 and 110 kg ha?1 N) on parent plants combined with seed priming with Nitragin biofertilizer improved the germination indices of wheat under salinity stress.  相似文献

Our aim was to evaluate the effects of fish oil feeding on sperm classical parameters, level of reactive oxygen spices (ROS), spermatozoa death incidence and in vitro fertilization (IVF) rate in rams. We randomly assigned nine rams, into two experimental groups (isoenergetic and isonitrogenous rations with constant level of vitamin E supplement): control (CTR; n = 5) and fish oil (FO; n = 4, 35 g/day/ram). Diets were fed for 70 days during the physiological breeding season. After a 21‐day dietary adaptation period, semen was collected weekly from each ram by an artificial vagina. Sperm classical parameters were determined by the computer‐assisted sperm analyzer system (CASA), and it was prepared for IVF process by swim‐up technique. These evaluations were performed during the first and last weeks of sampling. Intracellular ROS level and spermatozoa death incidence were detected by flow cytometry on a weekly basis after adaptation. Data were analysed with SPSS 15. The volume, concentration (3.6 and 2.7 × 109/ml) and sperm progressive motility (60 and 48%) were significantly improved in the FO group compared with the CTR (p < 0.05). A comparison of two‐cell stage embryos following IVF in the two groups showed a significantly higher fertilization rate in the FO group (56%) compared with the CTR (49%). Superoxide anion (O2?) rate was significantly lower (p < 0.05) at the third week of sampling in the FO. Although the H2O2 rate was numerically lower in the FO group compared with the CTR, this difference was not significant. In addition, apoptosis showed a significant difference in the third week of sampling (15 and 30% for FO and CTR, respectively; p < 0.05). Overall, adding fish oil to the ram diet not only improved sperm quality and IVF results, it also could reduce oxygen‐free radicals and the incidence of spermatozoa death.  相似文献
