Accounting for ionic strength and ion association, the degree of calculated supersaturation with CaCO3 of gleyic solonetz and molic solonetz soil solution is high. The purpose of the research was to reveal the effect of the water-dissolved organic matter (DOM) on the calcium carbonate equilibrium (CCE) in soil solution, to create a thermodynamic model of carbonate association and complexation with DOM and heavy metals (HMs), and to correct the principal of soil management.
Materials and methods
Object of research—Kastanozem complex of the dry steppe, Rostov Oblast, Russia. The water extraction of soluble salts was made at the water-to soil-ratio 5:1 and analyzed using standard methods. DOM content was determined by Strosser (J Agrobiol 27:49–60, 2010). The soil solution macro-ion equilibrium composition was calculated using ION-2 program (Endovitsky et al. 2009). DOM role in soil solution supersaturation with СаСО3 was assessed, comparing C content in real solution and in identical artificial solution prepared without organic matter. Taking into account the ion association, the molar fractions of free and bound HM ion were calculated using microelement association coefficient, kas(ME). The soil liquid-phase saturation with CaCO3 was characterized by the ratio of the real solubility product (S) to the thermodynamic solubility product (S0): К?=?S/S0.
Results and discussion
The soil solution supersaturation with CaCO3 was characterized by the product of analytical concentrations (S), equilibrium concentrations [accounting ion activity (SI), ion association (SII), ion association and complexation (SIII)], and the thermodynamic solubility product (S0). To evaluate the role of DOM in soil solution supersaturation with CaCO3, the initial pure Ca (HCO3)2 solution series was prepared. The humic and fulvic acids from the illuvial horizon of gleyic solonetz with concentrations of 20 mg C L?1 and 120 mg C L?1 decreased the CaCO3 precipitation compared with initial soil solution. The release of CaCO3 from soil water extracts containing water-soluble organic matter was 1.2–1.9 times less compared with identical artificial solution not containing organic matter. The HM binding by carbonates is proportional to the DOM content.
Conclusions
In molic solonetz and gleyic solonetz, the neutralization of the soda should be assessed by the soil solution supersaturation with CaCO3. To calculate the degree of HM passivation in soil solution containing DOM, the coefficient of soil solution oversaturation with CaCO3 is proposed. For reducing soil organic matter and DOM mobility and loss from soil, as well as for Pb passivation, intra-soil mechanical processing, intra-soil waste management, and intra-soil watering are proposed.
New steroidal 3β,21-disulfates (2–4), steroidal 3β,22-disulfate (5), and the previously known related steroidal 3β,21-disulfate (1) were isolated from the ethanolic extract of the Far Eastern starfish Pteraster marsippus, collected off Urup Island in the Sea of Okhotsk. The structures of these compounds were determined by intensive NMR and HRESIMS techniques as well as by chemical transformations. Steroids 2 and 3 have an oxo-group in the tetracyclic nucleus at position C-7 and differ from each other by the presence of the 5(6)-double bond. The Δ24-22-sulfoxycholestane side chain of the steroid 5 has not been found previously in the starfish or ophiuroid steroids. The cytotoxic activities of 1, 4, 5, and the mixture of 2 and 3 were determined on the models of 2D and 3D cultures of human epithelial kidney cells (HEK293), melanoma cells (SK-MEL-28), small intestine carcinoma cells (HuTu80), and breast carcinoma cells (ZR-75-1). The mixture of 2 and 3 revealed a significant inhibitory effect on the cell viability of human breast carcinoma ZR-75-1 cells, but other tested compounds were less effective. 相似文献
The chromosome morphology and the variation in the N-band distribution along the chromosomes were studied in 13 accessions of the wild wheat Aegilops geniculata Roth (2n=28, genome formula UUM°M°). The karyotype consisted of four metacentric, five submetacentric, three subtelocentric, and two satellited pairs of chromosomes. The N-banding technique stained differentially all 14 chromosome pairs. The most prominent bands were observed near the centromeres and in the intercalary regions of both arms. Telomeric bands were found in only seven chromosomes. All chromosomes produced a specific banding pattern, permitting their identification. Polymorphism for presence or absence of particular bands was observed among the different accessions. The variable bands were located predominantly at the terminal and subterminal chromosome regions, and were also unevenly distributed over chromosomes. This polymorphism resulted in up to eight distinct banding pattern variants for each of the Ae. geniculata chromosomes. Each accession in this study showed a unique overall karyotype, sharing 0 to 8 chromosomes of identical banding pattern with the other accessions. Black rice husk ash (BRHA) was obtained by means of thermal degradation of raw rice husks (RRH) on a pilot plant fluidized bed reactor. BRHA was characterized using chemical analyses, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermal analysis. The kinetics was studied using batch adsorption technique and on the basis of prior characterization by X-ray diffraction patterns and scanning electron microscopy. The adsorption capacities of diesel fuel at 288, 293 and 298?K onto BRHA were determined. Results showed that the material studied has very high adsorption capacity and low cost and may successfully be used as an effective adsorbent to clean up spills of oil products in water basins. The adsorption of diesel fuel onto BRHA proceeds rapidly to reach adsorption equilibrium in about 10?min. The saturated BRHA can be burnt in incinerators, industrial ovens or steam generators, and through this way ecological and economic benefits are attained. 相似文献
Progress in the treatment of inflammatory myopathies is impeded by the lack of suitable animal models. Inflammatory myopathies occur spontaneously in the dog, are a heterogeneous group of disorders, and are more common than in humans. Clinical signs of weakness and muscle atrophy are reliably present, and there are histological and immunohistological similarities to forms of human myositis. In this study, microarray technology followed by quantitative real-time PCR and immunohistochemistry on muscle biopsy sections was used to investigate gene expression in cases of canine inflammatory myopathies. Several genes involved with innate and adaptive immunity were highly upregulated including those that participate in macrophage and dendritic cell activation and migration, and antigen processing and presentation. Other genes including those that participate in B cell growth, development, migration and activation, immunoglobulin genes, genes in pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory pathways, and genes involved with tissue remodeling were upregulated. In previous reports utilizing microarray technology in human myositis, there was activation of similar pathways involved in the immune response. This study strengthens the argument that forms of canine myositis may be important animal models of human myositis and suggests useful biomarkers for therapeutic response using the dog in pre-clinical trials. 相似文献
Sixty-eight Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Cmm) strains from recent outbreaks of bacterial wilt and canker in Serbia were collected from several tomato growing regions during a three-year period. The pathogen was identified based on bacteriological characteristics and pathogenicity tests and the identity of strains was confirmed by DAS ELISA and PCR amplification using primers CMM5/6 and PSA4/R. The strains showed homogeneity in biochemical and physiological properties. However, pathogenicity tests revealed differences in virulence that are presumably due to a loss of the pat-1 gene. Further strain characterization using DNA-based methods revealed a high diversity of the Serbian Cmm strains. Based on multi-locus sequence typing (MLST) analyses of five genes, Cmm strains were divided into seven groups. The pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) pattern of a selection of strains supported the groupings based on trees of the kdpA/sdhA sequences. On the other hand, groupings made according to PFGE and MLST were not correlated to plasmid content in all cases. This study suggested that high genetic variability of the Serbian Cmm strains was detected both in MLST and PFGE analyses, and could have resulted either from new Cmm strains being introduced by seeds from different origins or as a consequence of an intraspecific hybridization process. In addition, this study proposed MLST as an efficient tool in epidemiological studies, population biology investigations and tracking the routes of transmission of pathogens. Four of the five house-keeping genes (kdpA, sdhA, ligA and gyrB) selected to characterize Cmm strains proved to be suitable for the MLST analysis. Cultivated Solanum tuberosum L. subsp. andigena is well known as a rich source of valuable traits for potato breeding, especially for resistance to diseases and pests. The golden potato cyst nematode, Globodera rostochiensis Woll., is considered to be one of todays most serious hindrances to potato production in Europe and North America. Thus, the breeding of new cultivars that have resistance to PCN is of great importance. The USPG (USA) and VIR (Russian) potato genebanks, as well as others, maintain many samples of primitive cultivated and wild potato species originating from Latin America. Many of these samples are assumed to be genetically duplicated because the material in both genebanks came from the same original source. A joint investigation of new genotypes of subsp. andigena forms resistant to potato cyst nematode (PCN) was carried out on samples of subsp. andigena at VIR with reputed duplicate samples at USPG. After careful screening, 14 samples which possessed resistance to PCN were identified. A high level of this resistance was transmitted to sexual progeny at a high frequency for all of the selections. Eleven of the accessions found to be resistant have reputed duplicates in USPG that were not previously known to be resistant. Thus, this research not only broadens the choice of parents available for resistance breeding, but identifies model materials for future research to test the parity of PCN resistance among reputed duplicate samples in the two genebanks. 相似文献
