Burrito tea originates from the leaves of Wendita calysina, an indigenous Paraguayan plant, which is commonly consumed in South America and in Western countries. Phytochemical investigation of this species has led to the isolation of 14 constituents, among them 2 new flavanonols, dihydroquercetagetin (1) and 3,5,6,7,4'-pentahydroxyflavanonol (2), in addition to several known methoxyflavones, methoxyflavonols, phenylethanoid glycosides, and benzoic acid derivatives (4-14). All structures were elucidated by ESI-MS and NMR spectroscopic methods. Quantitative determination of phenolic constituents from burrito water infusions has been performed by HPLC-UV-DAD. The total antioxidant activity of the tea was measured by the ABTS(*)(+) radical cation decolorization and chemiluminescence (CL) assays and compared with the values of other commonly used herbal teas (green and black teas, mate, and rooibos). 相似文献

Powerful relativistic jets are among the most ubiquitous and energetic observational consequences of accretion around supermassive black holes in active galactic nuclei and neutron stars and stellar-mass black holes in x-ray binary (XRB) systems. But despite more than three decades of study, the structure and composition of these jets remain unknown. Here we present spatially resolved x-ray spectroscopy of arc second-scale x-ray jets from XRB SS 433 analyzed with the Chandra advanced charge-coupled device imaging spectrometer. These observations reveal evidence for a hot continuum and Doppler-shifted iron emission lines from spatially resolved regions. Apparently, in situ reheating of the baryonic component of the jets takes place in a flow that moves with relativistic bulk velocity even more than 100 days after launch from the binary core. 相似文献

Cadmium (Cd) is a toxic heavy metal that occurs naturally in soils. Durum wheat is known to accumulate generally more Cd than other cereal crops. The uptake of Cd in durum wheat is governed by the gene Cdu1, which co‐segregates with several DNA markers, such as the co‐dominant marker usw47 and the dominant marker ScOPC20. A panel of 314 durum wheat cultivars or lines originating from 16 countries or regions were assessed with usw47. The plant material was mainly comprised of cultivars and modern breeding lines. From this set, 165 durum wheat lines were classified as low‐Cd accumulators, 144 high‐Cd accumulators and five were heterogeneous. A smaller subset of 16 cultivars had previously been evaluated for Cd accumulation in replicated field trials. Lines with the high‐Cd allele showed a 2.4‐fold higher Cd content in the seeds than lines with the low‐Cd allele. We also compared the utility of markers usw47 and ScOPC20 as selection tools. Marker‐assisted selection appears as a robust and practicable tool for breeding durum cultivars with low‐Cd content. 相似文献

The objective was to delimitate homogeneous soil zones that correspond to differentiated areas of growth and yield of a vineyard, using soil electrical resistivity. The soil electrical resistivity (ρ) at three depths was measured with an automatic on-the-go recording resistivity meter, the data was georeferenced, and zones of homogeneous soil characteristics were drawn. A grid of equally spaced sampling points was superimposed to the area where vegetative growth and yield data of the grapevines were recorded. ρ showed a marked spatial distribution and two homogeneous areas were delineated. ρ ranged from 48.6 to 54.3 ohm-metre for cluster A and from 90.2 to 208.5 ohm-metre for cluster B. Negative significant correlations were found between ρ and plant growth and yield variables. Vegetative growth and crop yield were significantly different between homogeneous soil ρ areas. Plants growing on cluster A had an average shoot length of 1.4 m and yielded 3.1 kg per plant; on cluster B, shoot length was 0.9 m and yield was 0.9 kg per plant. The procedure of measuring the soil electrical resistivity and georeferencing methodology proved fast and reliable, albeit expensive, and might be a useful tool in precision viticulture for delineating homogeneous soil zones. 相似文献

Native agars from Gracilaria vermiculophylla produced in sustainable aquaculture systems (IMTA) were extracted under conventional (TWE) and microwave (MAE) heating. The optimal extracts from both processes were compared in terms of their properties. The agars' structure was further investigated through Fourier transform infrared and NMR spectroscopy. Both samples showed a regular structure with an identical backbone, β-d-galactose (G) and 3,6-anhydro-α-l-galactose (LA) units; a considerable degree of methylation was found at C6 of the G units and, to a lesser extent, at C2 of the LA residues. The methylation degree in the G units was lower for MAE(opt) agar; the sulfate content was also reduced. MAE led to higher agar recoveries with drastic extraction time and solvent volume reductions. Two times lower values of [η] and M(v) obtained for the MAE(opt) sample indicate substantial depolymerization of the polysaccharide backbone; this was reflected in its gelling properties; yet it was clearly appropriate for commercial application in soft-texture food products. 相似文献

This study was designed to investigate growth performance in two sturgeon hybrids reared in two quadrangular floating cages moored in an artificial pond, representing the first experience of sturgeon culture performed at Southern Mediterranean latitudes. The research was carried out from December 2000 to July 2001 and tested the growth performance, feeding parameters and biometric relationships. The sturgeons were randomly collected from the cages on a monthly basis, and total length, standard length (SL) and wet weight (WW) were recorded. The specific daily growth rate (SGRW) as somatic WW, food conversion ratio and condition factor (CF) were calculated. Biometric relationships, as linear regression, were also calculated on SL and WW data. Both hybrids grew slowly from December to April, but faster during the warm months. The growth performance of the two hybrids seems to be influenced by variability of the environmental conditions and, for both fish groups, there was a strong correlation between water temperature and SGRW at temperatures below 25 °C. The CF (constantly below 1) was similar for both hybrids. The regression analysis for WW and SL calculated for the entire period showed a positive allometry for both hybrids, indicating that the fishes grew in weight at a greater rate than required to maintain constant body proportion. 相似文献

The effect of marcela extract (ME) on the shelf life of minced tilapia sausages was evaluated in this study. The level of phenolic compounds in the ME was 114.1 ± 2.9 mg GAE/g extract, and the DPPH free radical scavenging activity was 94.95 ± 1.34%. The ME protected the samples from color changes during storage. The addition of 0.5 and 0.75% ME significantly decreased lipid oxidation and microbial growth. The ME did not impact the sausages’ sensory quality, and the addition of 0.75% prevented sensory rejection during storage. 相似文献

There is growing interest in the evaluation of stress, health and welfare of farm-raised fish. However, there is no scientific consensus about the methodology that is used to assess them. Sturgeon aquaculture is a recent industry with increasing interest in the production of caviar, which is characterized by high turnover and costs. To improve aquaculture efficiency, this study was conducted on routine blood samples, taken from Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii), to test the robustness of using only physiological indicators to assess heat stress, health, and welfare. Sampling was performed after 1 month of prebiotic dietary supplementation followed by 4 weeks of sublethal heat stress. Data interpretation was achieved with a multivariate statistical tool. The expression of heat shock proteins (HSP) was assessed for the first time in sturgeon erythrocytes. Hsp70 and hsp90 expression was triggered by both stress and dietary supplementation. Indicators of non-specific immunity were modified mainly by stress. Complement activity increases with stress while lysozyme activity decreases, but to a lesser extent in supplemented fish. The antioxidant capacity increases with stress while oxidant metabolites decrease and overall oxidative stress was lower for fish that received dietary supplementation. The positive impact of dietary supplementation on health status was observable after a stress challenge. A principal component analysis was used to combine all the measured parameters and to observe patterns in physiological fish status. The four experimental groups of fish were clearly discriminated with this statistical tool. Physiological indicators from blood samples may enable heat stress, health, and welfare to be assessed in Siberian sturgeon. 相似文献

Ecological modelling tools are applied worldwide to support the ecosystem‐based approach of marine resources (EAM). In the last decades, numerous applications were attempted in the Mediterranean Sea, mainly using the Ecopath with Ecosim (EwE) tool. These models were used to analyse a variety of complex environmental problems. Many applications analysed the ecosystem impacts of fishing and assessed management options. Other studies dealt with the accumulation of pollution through the food web, the impact of aquaculture or the ecosystem effects of climate change. They contributed to the scientific aspects of an ecosystem‐based approach in the region because they integrated human activities within an ecosystem context and evaluated their impact on the marine food web, including environmental factors. These studies also gathered a significant amount of information at an ecosystem level. Thus, in the second part of this review, we used this information to quantify structural and functional traits of Mediterranean marine ecosystems at regional scales as the illustration of further potentialities of EwE for an EAM. Results highlighted differential traits between ecosystem types and a few between basins, which illustrate the environmental heterogeneity of the Mediterranean Sea. Moreover, our analysis evidenced the importance of top predators and small pelagic fish in Mediterranean ecosystems, in addition to the structural role of benthos and plankton organisms. The impact of fishing was high and of a similar intensity in the western, central and eastern regions and showed differences between ecosystem types. The keystone role of species was more prominent in protected environments. 相似文献
