An unmanned aerial vehicle (??VIPtero??) was assembled and tested with the aim of developing a flexible and powerful tool for site-specific vineyard management. The system comprised a six-rotor aerial platform capable of flying autonomously to a predetermined point in space, and of a pitch and roll compensated multi-spectral camera for vegetation canopy reflectance recording. Before the flight campaign, the camera accuracy was evaluated against high resolution ground-based measurements, made with a field spectrometer. Then, ??VIPtero?? performed the flight in an experimental vineyard in Central Italy, acquiring 63 multi-spectral images during 10?min of flight completed almost autonomously. Images were analysed and classified vigour maps were produced based on normalized difference vegetation index. The resulting vigour maps showed clearly crop heterogeneity conditions, in good agreement with ground-based observations. The system provided very promising results that encourage its development as a tool for precision agriculture application in small crops. 相似文献

Leptin and its receptor (ObR) expression were investigated by immunohistochemistry in normal, hyperplastic and neoplastic canine mammary tissues and related to clinical-pathological features. Leptin expression was detected in healthy mammary tissues, adenosis and in benign mammary tumours and was lower in ductal hyperplasias and malignant tumours. A high percentage of ObR-positive cells were present in adenosis, benign tumours and in complex carcinomas, while ObR expression was lower in healthy mammary tissues, in ductal hyperplasias and in a large part of invasive mammary carcinomas. Our data demonstrated that cancer cells expressed at low level leptin and ObR in canine mammary tumours with a more aggressive behaviour, as well as in lymph node metastases. Consequently, leptin and ObR expressions in this species resulted to be not associated with a reduced overall survival. 相似文献

There has been a remarkable scientific output on the topic of how climate change is likely to affect plant diseases. This
overview addresses the need for review of this burgeoning literature by summarizing opinions of previous reviews and trends
in recent studies on the impacts of climate change on plant health. Sudden Oak Death is used as an introductory case study:
Californian forests could become even more susceptible to this emerging plant disease, if spring precipitations will be accompanied
by warmer temperatures, although climate shifts may also affect the current synchronicity between host cambium activity and
pathogen colonization rate. A summary of observed and predicted climate changes, as well as of direct effects of climate change
on pathosystems, is provided. Prediction and management of climate change effects on plant health are complicated by indirect
effects and the interactions with global change drivers. Uncertainty in models of plant disease development under climate
change calls for a diversity of management strategies, from more participatory approaches to interdisciplinary science. Involvement
of stakeholders and scientists from outside plant pathology shows the importance of trade-offs, for example in the land-sharing
vs. sparing debate. Further research is needed on climate change and plant health in mountain, boreal, Mediterranean and tropical
regions, with multiple climate change factors and scenarios (including our responses to it, e.g. the assisted migration of
plants), in relation to endophytes, viruses and mycorrhiza, using long-term and large-scale datasets and considering various

Biological invasions are a major driver of global environmental change as invasive non-native species can exert severe environmental impacts on invaded ecosystems. Estuaries are especially vulnerable to biological invasions, which in highly urbanised areas are further facilitated by introduction pathways linked to commercial activities. This study provides a risk screening of non-native invasive species for the highly urbanised River Neretva Estuary (Eastern Adriatic Sea: Croatia and Bosnia–Herzegovina). In total, 12 species of non-native aquatic organisms were identified and screened for their invasiveness with the Aquatic Species Invasiveness Screening Kit. Of these species, eight were classified as carrying a high risk of invasiveness under current climate conditions and nine under future climate conditions. Amongst the high-risk species, blue crab Callinectes sapidus has already caused impacts in the risk assessment area, where it also represents an important economic resource. The “horizon” species Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas and Manila clam Ruditapes philippinarum also carried a high risk of invasiveness, which for the latter species applied under predicted global warming. The present findings will contribute towards preventative management and control measures for the conservation of the natural ecosystem of the River Neretva Estuary whilst accounting for aquatic farming demands. 相似文献

The demand for valuable products from dinoflagellate biotechnology has increased remarkably in recent years due to their many prospective applications. However, there remain many challenges that need to be addressed in order to make dinoflagellate bioactives a commercial reality. In this article, we describe the technical feasibility of producing and recovering amphidinol analogues (AMs) excreted into a culture broth of Amphidinium carterae ACRN03, successfully cultured in an LED-illuminated pilot-scale (80 L) bubble column photobioreactor operated in fed-batch mode with a pulse feeding strategy. We report on the isolation of new structurally related AMs, amphidinol 24 (1, AM24), amphidinol 25 (2, AM25) and amphidinol 26 (3, AM26), from a singular fraction resulting from the downstream processing. Their planar structures were elucidated by extensive NMR and HRMS analysis, whereas the relative configuration of the C-32→C-47 bis-tetrahydropyran core was confirmed to be antipodal in accord with the recently revised configuration of AM3. The hemolytic activities of the new metabolites and other related derivatives were evaluated, and structure–activity conclusions were established. Their isolation was based on a straightforward and high-performance bioprocess that could be suitable for the commercial development of AMs or other high-value compounds from shear sensitive dinoflagellates. 相似文献

Bulnesia sarmientoi Lorentz ex Griseb volatile oil was characterized by GC × GC-TOF-MS analysis. Major components were guaiol and bulnesol, followed by hanamyol. The enhanced sensitivity and superior resolution of GC × GC resulted in the identification of thus-far unreported oil constituents as β-guaiene, guaioxide, elemol, germacrene-B, eudesm-5-en-11-ol, γ-eudesmol, α-eudesmol and (−)-hanamyol. The insecticidal effect of B. sarmientoi oil and its main constituents (guaiol, bulnesol and hanamyol) on Spodoptera littoralis, Rhopalosiphum padi and Myzus persicae was studied. Guaiol affected the aphids in a dose-response fashion, showing low efficiency, while bulnesol and hanamyol were inactive. Both the oil and its constituents were also assayed for antifungal action against Fusarium spp. and phytotoxicity to Lactuca sativa. Among the pure compounds tested, bulnesol had a low-moderate effect on Fusarium moniliforme while hanamyol had a strong effect on Fusarium solani. Neither the oil nor the tested compounds affected L. sativa germination or radicle length, indicating that B. sarmientoi is not phytotoxic. 相似文献

After the development of the gastric function in juvenile fish, dietary proteins enter a two-phase digestive process comprising an acidic gastric phase followed by an alkaline intestinal phase. However, the main gastric protease, pepsin, is strictly dependent on the existence of a low-enough environmental pH. In 20-g gilthead sea bream, Sparus aurata, the mean minimal gastric pH is close to 4.5, while the mean pH in the duodenal portion of the intestine was nearly fixed at 6.5. The mean maximal gastric content of HCl was approximately 20 microEq for a low-buffering diet. Gastric proteases were more severely affected than intestinal proteases when assayed at actual sub-optimal pH values, 4.5 and 6.5, respectively. When the gastric proteases of juvenile fish were pre-incubated with a citric acid buffer at pH 6.0, the activity at pH 4.5 was very low, whereas when they were pre-incubated with the same buffer at pH 3.0, the activity at pH 4.5 was significantly increased; this fact suggests a deficient activation of zymogens during the gastric digestion and points to a potential approach to improve protein digestion in juvenile gilthead sea bream. 相似文献

Effects of salinity on fruit yield and quality of tomato grown in soil-less culture in greenhouses in Mediterranean climatic conditions 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
There is increasing pressure to reduce water use and environmental impact associated with open system, soil-less production in simple, plastic greenhouses on the Mediterranean coast. This may force the adoption of re-circulation of nutrient solutions. In south-eastern Spain, irrigation water is mostly from aquifers and has moderate levels of salinity. The adoption of re-circulation using moderately saline water requires detailed information of crop response to salinity, in order to optimise management. The effect of salinity on fruit yield, yield components and fruit quality of tomato grown in soil-less culture in plastic greenhouses in Mediterranean climate conditions was evaluated. Two spring growing periods (experiments 1 and 2) and one long season, autumn to spring growing period (experiment 3) studies were conducted. Two cultivars, ‘Daniela’ (experiment 1) and ‘Boludo’ (experiments 2 and 3), were used. Seven levels of electrical conductivity (EC) in the nutrient solution were compared in experiment 1 (2.5–8.0 dS m−1) and five levels in experiments 2 and 3 (2.5–8.5 dS m−1). Total and marketable yield decreased linearly with increasing salinity above a threshold EC value (ECt). There were only small effects of climate and cultivar on the ECt value for yield. Average threshold EC values for total and marketable fruit yield were, respectively, 3.2 and 3.3 dS m−1. The linear reductions of total and marketable yield with EC above ECt showed significant differences between experiments, the slope varying from 7.2% (autumn to spring period, ‘Boludo’) to 9.9% (spring period, ‘Boludo’) decreases per dS m−1 increase in EC for total yield, and from 8.1% (spring period, ‘Daniela’) to 11.8% (spring period, ‘Boludo’) for marketable yield. The decrease of fresh fruit yield with salinity was mostly due to a linear decrease of the fruit weight of 6.1% per dS m−1 from an ECt of 3.0 dS m−1 for marketable fruits. Reduction in fruit number with salinity made a smaller relative contribution to reduced yield. Blossom-end rot (BER) increased with increasing salinity. There was a higher incidence of BER with spring grown crops, and ‘Boludo’ was more sensitive than ‘Daniela’. Increasing salinity improved various aspects of fruit quality, such as: (i) proportion of ‘Extra’ fruits (high visual quality), (ii) soluble solids content, and (iii) titratable acidity content. However, salinity decreased fruit size, which is a major determinant of price. An economic analysis indicated that the EC threshold value above which the value of fruit production decreased linearly with increasing salinity was 3.3 dS m−1, which was the same as that for marketable yield. In the economic analysis, the value of increased visual fruit quality was offset by reduced yield and smaller fruit size. 相似文献
