Bacillary band ultrastructure of the fish parasite Capillaria pterophylli (Nematoda: Capillariidae)

In Capillaria pterophylli Heinze, 1933, two lateral bacillary bands extend along the whole body in female and male worms. A ventral bacillary band is present in females only. The bacillary bands consist of glandular and non-glandular cells, in the region between the nerve ring and the end of the stichosome, ciliated sense receptors in tight connection with gland are present.     

Ultrastructure, Morphology, and Sporogenesis of Pasteuria penetrans

ABSTRACT Pasteuria penetrans is a bacterial parasite of root-knot nematodes that shows great potential as a biocontrol agent. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy were used to study the ultrastructure, morphology, and sporogenesis of four isolates of P. penetrans. The effects of different Meloidogyne spp. and tobacco cultivars on sporangium size and morphology of endospores attached to the cuticle of second-stage juveniles (J2) of root-knot nematodes also were investigated. The P. penetrans isolates and their origins were P-20 from M. arenaria race 1 in Levy County, FL; P-100 from Meloidogyne sp. in Pasco County, FL; B-4 from Pratylenchus scribneri in Seminole County, FL; and P-120 from Meloidogyne spp. in Alachua County, FL. Sporangia of the four isolates were identical morphologically and similar in their dimensions, ranging from 2.39 to 3.42 mum in diameter and from 1.38 to 2.38 mum in height. Different Meloidogyne spp. and tobacco cultivars had no effect on sporangium size. Endospores attached to J2 were visualized in three forms: endospores retaining the sporangium wall, endospores covered with a thin exosporium, and endospores without covering. Sporogenesis of P. penetrans was similar to that of other gram-positive bacteria and generally matched the seven-stage scheme reported for Bacillus thuringiensis.     

Psammaceratin A: A Cytotoxic Psammaplysin Dimer Featuring an Unprecedented (2Z,3Z)-2,3-Bis(aminomethylene)succinamide Backbone from the Red Sea Sponge Pseudoceratina arabica

Bioassay-guided partition of the extract of the Red Sea sponge Pseudoceratina arabica and HPLC purification of the active fraction gave a psammaplysin dimer, psammaceratin A (1), along with psammaplysin A (2). The dimer comprises two units of psammaplysin A (2) connected via the terminal amines with an unprecedented (2Z,3Z)-2,3-bis(aminomethylene)succinamide moiety, and it represents the first dimer to be identified among the psammaplysin family. Data from 1D- and 2D-NMR and HRMS supported the chemical structures of the compounds. Psammaceratin A (1) and psammaplysin A (2) exhibited significant growth inhibition of HCT 116, HeLa, and MBA-MB-231 cells down to 3.1 μM.

湖南桂阳地区烟叶部分中微量元素含量分析

为深入研究近年来湖南桂阳地区烟叶内中微量元素含量的变化状况,分别于2005年、2007年从湖南省桂阳县的和平镇和桥市乡两个地区采集不同部位的烟叶样品,运用ICP测定方法对其部分中微量元素含量进行测定,并将桂阳地区烟叶与津巴布韦烟叶内中微量元素含量的进行对比分析,结果表明:与2005年相比,2007年桂阳地区烟叶中硼、铁、铜的含量明显降低,处于较低水平,锰的含量有所下降,但是仍在适宜范围,个别部位烟叶中镁和钙的含量略有下降,仍处于较低水平.与津巴布韦烟叶相比,桂阳地区烟叶中B,Fe,Cu的含量较低.建议桂阳地区应注意对烟叶的中微量元素的补充.     

大豆低聚糖分离纯化研究

大豆低聚糖能促进人体肠道内固有的有益细菌——双歧杆菌的增殖,从而抑制肠内腐败菌的生长,并减少有毒发酵产物的形成。是一类功能性低聚糖。综合论述了国内外工业上分离纯化大豆低聚糖的典型工艺过程,并对各单元操作中所用方法进行了比较和分析。

家蚕春用品种华欣×东旺的选育研究初报

华欣×东旺是从国外引进的杂交组合中,经过５年饲养筛选出的家蚕春用新组合。该组合下蚁收茧量２１．５６ｋｇ,茧层率２５．７％,四龄起蚕健蛹率９７．６３％,解舒优且稳定,四年平均为８１．８３％,最高达９３．０３％,解舒长１０１２．７５米,出丝率２１．６１％。经多年试验室鉴定及生产实践表明,该组合具有蚕体发育齐、易处理、好饲养、产量高、茧质优异的特点。     

柱花草刈割次数与生产性能的关系

对格拉姆柱花草的刈割次数与生产性能关系进行了两年时间的研究,结果表明:不同年度、不同次数刈割对生产性能影响很大,当年刈割一次比刈割两次产草量增长44%—68%,粗蛋白产量增长40%左右;第二年刈割两次比刈割一次产草量增长4.8%,粗蛋白产量增长52%,而比刈割三次产草量增长17%,粗蛋白产量增长9%。
