Sixteen dogs with lymphoma underwent splenectomy to relieve signs of massive splenomegaly including splenic rupture. The most common preoperative hematologic abnormalities, anemia and thrombocytopenia, were reversed in all dogs surviving the initial postoperative period. Within 6 weeks after surgery, 5 dogs died because of disseminated intravascular coagulation and sepsis. The remaining 11 dogs underwent chemotherapy. These 11 dogs had a complete response rate of 66% at one month after surgery; the mean and median survival times were 9.3 and 5 months, respectively. In 7 dogs evaluated until death, the mean and median survival times were 13.4 months and 14 months, respectively.  相似文献

Three neoplasms of extracutaneous mast-cell origin, arising from the nasopharynx, oral cavity, and hepatopancreatic lymph nodes respectively, were diagnosed in three dogs. The neoplasms had histologic features similar to those of cutaneous mast-cell tumors, but had limited metastasis mostly involving the regional lymph nodes. One dog had a perforating duodenal ulcer, suggesting that duodenal ulcers can occur with extracutaneous tumors as they do with some cutaneous mast-cell tumors in the dog.  相似文献

Reduction of yarn hairiness by nozzles in ring spinning and winding is a new approach. Simulation of the airflow pattern inside the nozzles provides useful information about actual mechanism of hairiness reduction. The swirling air current inside the nozzles is capable of wrapping the protruding hairs around the yarn body, thereby reducing yarn hairiness. Since production rate of winding is very high and the process itself increases yarn hairiness any method to reduce the hairiness of yarns at this stage is a novel approach. A CFD (computational fluid dynamics) model has been developed to simulate the airflow pattern inside the nozzles using Fluent 6.1 software. In this study, both S- and Z-type nozzles having an axial angle of 50° and diameter of 2.2 mm were used for simulation studies. To create a swirling effect, four air holes of 0.4 mm diameter are made tangential to the inner walls of the nozzles. S- and Z-twisted yarns of 30 tex were spun with and without nozzles and were tested for hairiness, tensile and evenness properties. The total number of hairs equal to or exceeding 3 mm (i.e. the S3 values) for yarn spun with nozzle is nearly 49–51 % less than that of ring yarns in case of nozzle-ring spinning, and 15 % less in case of nozzle-winding, while both the yarn types show little difference in evenness and tensile properties. Upward airflow gives best results in terms of hairiness reduction for nozzle-ring and nozzle wound yarns compared to ring yarns. Yarn passing through the centre of the nozzle shows maximum reduction in S3 values.  相似文献

In this paper, friction of air-jet textured yarns is investigated. Using a friction measuring apparatus fabricated in-house, dynamic friction forces of the yarns under yarn-to-metal (YM) and yarn-to-yarn (YY) rubbing modes are measured. The influence of processing variables of air-jet texturing viz., overfeed, air pressure, dry/wet texturing and normal/core-and-effect texturing on dynamic friction is analysed. The results indicate that friction force increases with increasing rubbing speeds and yarn input tension. YM dynamic friction decreases initially and then starts to increase at higher overfeeds. YY dynamic friction increases with increasing overfeed. YM dynamic friction decreases with an increase in air pressure while an opposite trend is observed for YY friction. Wet textured yarns have higher friction than dry textured yarns. Core wetted core-and-effect textured yarns have higher friction than normal textured yarns.  相似文献

In present article fabrication and characterization of unfilled and granite powder filled carbon epoxy composites are reported. Addition of carbon fiber shows positive effect on mechanical performance of the composites. However, incorporation of granite powder has negative hybridizing effect on the properties such as tensile strength, flexural strength and inter-laminar shear strength. The storage modulus evaluated at 30 °C is in close agreement with flexural modulus of composites. Further, successful attempt is made for numerical simulation of actual geometry of wind turbine blade. The results obtained from numerical analysis are comparable with experimental results.  相似文献

 The gusA-marked Azospirillum lipoferum T1371, constructed by inserting transposon mTn5SSgusA20 from Escherichia coli S17-1 λ-pir into the genome of Azospirillum lipoferum 137, was used to evaluate its effect on nodulation of white clover with and without Rhizobium inoculation. When inoculated alone, Azospirillum colonized the tap roots, secondary roots and root hairs. The combined inoculation of white clover with Rhizobium leguminosarum bv trifolii and A. lipoferum enhanced the number of nodules by 2–3 times from 5 to 20 days after inoculation (DAI). The combined inoculation also enhanced acetylene reduction activity by 2.3–2.7 times at 20 DAI. Moreover, Azospirillum was observed colonizing the tap root, root hairs and sites near or on the nodules. These results suggest that the formation of additional infection sites by A. lipoferum, with a combined inoculation, may be the mechanism that will enhance nodulation and nitrogen fixation of white clover. Ectopic thyroid tissue was identified at the base of the tongue in a 9-year-old, euthyroid, domestic shorthair cat. The lingual submucosa and the muscles were replaced by thyroid tissue, which consisted of various-sized follicles each lined by a row of cuboidal epithelium. Many follicles contained eosinophilic, periodic acid Schiff-positive, colloid material. Imunohistochemically, the epithelial cells stained positive for AE(1)/AE(3)and thyroglobulin. No calcitonin positive cells or parathyroid tissue was seen. The cat has been followed for 1018 days after surgery, is clinically well and remains euthyroid.  相似文献
