Adaptability and stability analysis methods that use a priori information allow identifying and selecting potentially productive genotypes with greater accuracy. The aim of the current study is to use the Eberhart and Russel’ Bayesian method as an instrument to analyze the adaptability and stability of hybrid maize cultivars and to assess the efficiency of using the distribution of informative and non-informative priors to select cultivars. Twenty-five (25) hybrid maize cultivars were assessed in 11 environments located in the Brazilian Northeastern region, during 2012 and 2013, according to a complete randomized block design, with two repetitions. The Eberhart and Russel’s methodology was performed in the GENES software, whereas the Bayesian procedure was implemented in the free software R, by using the MCMCregress function of the MCMCpack package. The adaptability and stability parameters values and the credibility intervals have shown that the Eberhart and Russel’s method via Bayesian technique has shown greater stability-estimation accuracy and greater efficiency in recommending cultivars adapted to favorable and unfavorable environments. The Bayesian methods using priories informative (M1) and few informative (M2) distributions have presented the same genotype classifications in the comparison between a priori distributions; however, according to the Bayes Factor, the M1 was the most adequate distribution to help finding more reliable estimates.  相似文献

The broadcast application of phosphate fertilizers may be more effective than localized application methods for the growth of corn in medium textured oxisol, which have lower phosphorus (P) adsorption capacity. This study aimed to evaluate three phosphate fertilizer application methods at five different doses onto corn grown in oxisol, over two seasons. The experiment was conducted on corn crops in Passos city, Minas Gerais state, Brazil. Stripes with split plots were used to investigate the different application methods where each plot represented double furrow, single furrow, or broadcast application. Within the sub plots, the five doses (0.0, 50, 100, 200, and 400 kg ha?1) of phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) as granulated monoammonium phosphate (MAP) were applied. Four replications were used. The doses were reapplied in the second cultivation year only for the localized treatments (single and double furrow). The nitrogen in the MAP was held constant among treatments. The corn grain yield in both years was dependent upon both dose and application method, primarily for the single furrow and broadcast methods. In the first year, the broadcast application method of P fertilizer at a estimated dose of 319 kg ha?1 of P2O5 provided a greater accumulated yield over two seasons. Broadcast application is therefore a viable method for growing corn with a reduced spacing distribution on medium textured oxisol.  相似文献

Neotropical freshwater fishes are the most diverse on the planet (>5,500 species), although nations in Latin America have been negligent regarding their conservation. National policies have historically encouraged unsustainable practices, and recent decades have witnessed a sharp increase in harmful activities. Our aim with this review was to expose this situation and illustrate how national policies constitute the main threat to freshwater fish biodiversity. We explain that the most devastating, pervasive and systemic threats are rooted in official policies, particularly unsustainable activities (e.g. hydropower, water diversion, mining, aquaculture, agriculture and fishing), poor management/conservation (e.g. fish stocking and passages) and harmful legislation (e.g. poor licensing, non‐native species). We provide a broad portrait of the Neotropical scenario, where unsustainable policies have caused considerable damage to freshwater ecosystems, and focus on major examples from Brazil, where development projects have caused large‐scale losses to fish biodiversity. Such modus operandi of human development is incompatible with the persistence of biodiversity, and no simple solution is available to correct or minimize its effects. The current situation demands a profound behavioural shift towards better practices and policies, or these multiple high‐impact activities will continue eroding freshwater fish biodiversity and impairing essential ecosystem services.  相似文献

The effect of prey-based and combination prey and plant-based diets [Tenebrio molitor pupae alone; T. molitor pupae and Eucalyptus cloeziana plants; T. molitor pupae and Eucalyptus urophylla plants; and T. molitor pupae and Psidium guajava (guava) plants] on the morphometry of the ovary of Brontocoris tabidus (Signoret) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) was analyzed in the field. Females fed on T. molitor pupae without plants presented with smaller ovarioles. The number of oocytes per ovary was higher for B. tabidus females fed on a combination diet of E. urophylla and T. molitor pupae when compared to females fed only on prey. In addition to diet, the number of oocytes in the ovariole was shown to vary with the age of B. tabidus. The 21-day-old B. tabidus females were found to have a higher number of oocytes per ovariole than the 15-day-old females in all diet conditions. The 15-day-old females exhibited more developed oocytes when fed on diets containing both prey and eucalypts plants and less developed oocytes when fed with a combination diet containing guava plants or T. molitor pupae alone. The 21-one-day-old B. tabidus females which were fed with a diet without plants had smaller oocytes than those fed with plants. Herbivory improves the morphology of the ovary of B. tabidus, affecting the size of the reproductive structures and the oogenesis of this natural enemy in the field.  相似文献

We investigated the growth of juvenile common snook (Centropomus undecimalis) reared at 25°C and 28°C and salinities of 0.3, 15, and 32 g L?1. Total length, weight, RNA/DNA, and protein/DNA ratios were determined after 90 days of experiment. Higher growth was observed at 28ºC compared with 25°C, at the same salinity. At 28°C and 15 g L?1 salinity, the weight (25.14 g) of juveniles was twice that of the juveniles reared at the lower temperature. At different salinities, only higher temperature affected growth, with higher weight values obtained at 15 g L?1 in comparison with 0.3 and 32 g L?1. Length was similar at 0.3 and 15 g L?1. The RNA/DNA ratio was greater in juveniles reared at a salinity of 15 g L?1 when compared with 0.3 and 32 g L?1. This study shows that the combination of higher temperature and intermediate salinity promotes better growth of common snook juveniles.  相似文献
