Presentation of postweaning Escherichia coli diarrhea in southern Ontario, prevalence of hemolytic E. coli serogroups involved, and their antimicrobial resistance patterns

Post-weaning Escherichia coli diarrhea (PWECD) in Ontario was investigated using a case-control study involving 50 Ontario nurseries. The clinical signs and the impact on productive parameters were determined by means of a producer survey. The hemolytic E. coli serogroups involved in PWECD (O149:K91:K88) were examined in this study. Based on a polymerase chain reaction test, the hemolytic E. coli from 82% of the case herds were positive for 3 enterotoxins (STa, STb, and LT), those from 12% of the case herds were positive for STb and LT only, and those from one herd (6%) were positive for 3 enterotoxins, as well as for verotoxin and F18 pili. The E. coli involved in disease were resistant to multiple antibiotics. Case farms commonly used a wide variety of antibiotics either in the feed or water, or as injectable drugs. The most common antibiotic used to treat PWECD on the study farms was apramycin, but evidence of resistance to this antibiotic was noted. The PWECD problem was commonly seen within a week of weaning but onset of diarrhea was reported as late as the grower-finisher stage. Growth rate was poorer in case herds and mortality was higher than in control herds, demonstrating that PWECD is an economically important disease in Ontario.     

黄麻（新、引进）品种在闽南地区的产量（鉴定）试验

通过对中国农科院麻类所新选育的3个黄麻圆果种和12个国外引进的黄麻优异品种进行2002-2005年品种比较试验，结果表明：C90-2、C90-6、C89-6比对照种粤圆五号增产14．97％-19．34％，均达极显著水平。O-3、O-1、O-3（红茎）比对照种宽叶长果增产32．02％-34．21％，均达极显著水平。O-4（Ⅱ）比对照种增产12．28％达显著水平。C-1、C-5比对照种粤圆五号增产11．90％和7．82％。且主要经济性状优良，抗病力强。黄麻品种C90-2、C90-6、C89-6、O-3、O-1、O-3（红茎）、0-4（Ⅱ）、C-1和C-5适合于福建闽南麻区推广种植。     

云南松人工林木材百度干燥特性实验研究

采用百度试验法对云南松人工林木材进行了干燥特性的研究.结果表明：水煮后的木材干燥质量优于非处理木材,截面变形程度轻,且干燥时间缩短,并提出了云南松的干燥基准.     

牦牛不同年龄段的屠宰测定

通过对天然放牧条件下0.5～5.5岁各个年龄段牦牛的屠宰测定,得到最好的屠宰指标为:2.5岁时屠宰率为59.14%;3.5岁时净肉率为41.5%,胴体产肉率为76.35%,骨肉比为1∶3.77。     

哺乳动物附植前胚胎的基因表达调控

哺乳动物胚胎附植前期包括:合子的形成,胚胎基因组的激活和细胞分化的开始。在这个时期,发育由母源物质控制转为合子基因控制,在此过程,同时形成染色质介导的转录抑制时期,要解除抑制必须经过胚胎基因组的激活。通过对体内、外附植前胚胎的mRNA的表达特点以及它们与成功发育联系的研究,可以筛选出最佳的体外培养条件,设计最佳的核移植方案。     

一类时滞微分系统有界解的收敛性

研究了一类时滞微分系统解的渐近性态．在一些比已有文献通常附加的局部李普希兹条件更弱的条件下，证明了此系统的每个有界解趋于某平衡态．我们的结果推广了已有的一些结论．     

Long-term lack of transmission of Aujeszky's disease virus (ADV) in a chronically infected Swedish weaner pig producing herd

A cohort of 53 swine seronegative to Aujeszky's disease virus (ADV) was monitored in a 1 year study of a chronically infected commercial Swedish weaner pig producing herd. Serum samples were acquired from all 134 adult swine and analyzed by enzyme-linked immmunosorbent assay (ELISA). Animals testing negative, along with introduced replacement gilts, were followed serologically every second month. Movements of animals were recorded for 319 days and exposure to seropositive animals was calculated for each seronegative pig in the cohort. The accumulated daily pig contact between the 53 ADV-non-infected swine and 43 infected swine was 35 660 days and the median number of days in contact for the non-infected swine with infected was 222. Despite the frequent contact with seropositive pigs, no seronegative animals seroconverted during the first 11 months of observation. Forty-six of 53 pigs seroconverted after a clinical outbreak during the twelfth month of observation.
