Stereoselective degradation of ethofumesate in turfgrass and soil

The stereoselective degradation of ethofumesate in turfgrasses and several agricultural soils was investigated to provide details of the fate of this chiral herbicide. Racemic ethofumesate was either foliar applied to two species of turfgrass or fortified into four types of agricultural soils. (+)- and (−)-Enantiomers were extracted and analyzed by a validated chiral HPLC method which involved extraction of samples with organic solvent followed by separation on cellulose-Tris-(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate)-based chiral column and quantification by UV absorbance at 230 nm. Mean recoveries of each enantiomer fortified at 0.5, 5, and 10 μg g⁻¹ ranged from 82.3 ± 5.84 to 92.5 ± 2.87% in turfgrasses and from 86.0 ± 5.09 to 98.1 ± 2.51% in soil. As a measure of this composition, the enantiomeric ratio (ER) was used, defined as the concentration ratio of (+)/(−)-enantiomer. Similarly, preferential degradation of the (−)-enantiomer was observed in both grass species with the largest ER of about 3 and in one of the test soil with ER = 1.65, resulting in residues enriched with (+)-enantiomer. This stereoselective degradation in this soil led to significant difference on half-lives between the two enantiomers. No stereoselective degradation was observed in other soils.     

The Blood-Vessel System of the Equine Periodontal Ligament: a Mesoscopic Study on Corrosion Casts

Several investigators have suggested that the blood-vessel system in the equine periodontal ligament does not only serve nutritional needs, but also specific functional needs, e.g. in terms of a shock absorbing system. In order to supplement the previous data, corrosion casts of the periodontal blood vessels were studied with special attention to the spatial arrangement and connections of the vessels. The heads of eight warm-blooded horses (age 2.5–23 years, seven female, one male), which had been killed for medical reasons, were dissected. The arteria alveolaris inferior and the a. infraorbitalis were perfused with 100 ml Heparin (20 000 IU) followed by 100 ml tap water. After storage at 4°C for 24–96 h, 10–200 ml methacrylate resin (Biodur^TM E20) were injected by use of a cartridge pistol for approx. 1 h. After polymerization for 24 h at 60°C, the jaws were frozen and cut with a steel band saw in a horizontal, sagittal or transversal plane to obtain segments that exposed the periodontal space. The specimens were macerated in detergent at 60°C until the soft tissues had vanished. Care was taken to keep the periodontal vessels complete and in topographical integrity. The vascular casts were mesoscopically examined by use of a dissection microscope (magnification 5.8×–40×). The blood vessels in the periodontal space connected with vessels in three other sites:

变叶海棠种群多样性的形成与分化研究

 采用杂种指数和形象化散点图法, 探明了变叶海棠以兼性无融合生殖方式与陇东海棠和花叶海棠产生渗入杂交变异, 又以无融合生殖方式保持新产生变异的遗传, 经过数千万年的世代繁衍,形成现今这样极其复杂多样的渗入杂交群体, 该群体为3 个种的杂交复合体。由于杂种的全部或部分能育子代中发生的基因重组和增加基因的突变, 丰富了物种的基因库, 从而深入的揭示了变叶海棠具有多种高抗性的遗传机理。在变叶海棠居群内保护或栽植适量的陇东海棠和花叶海棠, 对于保持和促进变叶海棠多样性的形成与分化具有重要意义。     

Changes of myocardial glycogen content and right ventricular function in hypoxia swimming rats

AIM: To investigate the changes of myocardium glycogen content and the relation ship between changes of the myocardial glycogen content and the myocardial function. METHODS: Male Wistar rats were placed in (hypoxia rats) and made to swim in (hypoxia swimming rats) a hypobaxic chamber simulating an altitude of 5 000 m above sea level. The content of myocardium glycogens was determined by colorimetry. RESULTS: The myocardium
glycogen content of rats significantly reduced along with the prolongation of hypoxic exposure and approached to control level in hypoxia swimming rats. The myocardial function of right ventricule was improved significantly compared with control group.CONCLUSION: Moderate exercise (swimming) is beneficial to hypoxic adaptation of rats under the condition of chronic hypoxia.     

早熟优质长豇豆新品种‘鄂豇豆2 号’

 ‘鄂豇豆2号’是经有性杂交选育而成的早熟蔓生豇豆新品种。该品种荚浅绿色, 长60 cm,单荚质量18~ 24 g。早熟, 荚商品性状优良, 产量高, 对光周期反应不敏感, 田间疫病、煤霉病、病毒病发病率低, 适宜于春、夏、秋各季栽培, 已在全国大部分省份推广种植成功。     

杜鹃花新品种‘朝晖’和‘红晕’

 ‘朝晖’杜鹃花是由大白花杜鹃和马缨花杂交选育而成, 叶面灰绿色, 顶生圆锥伞房花序, 有花10～12 朵, 花冠紫红色。‘红晕’杜鹃花是由露珠杜鹃和马缨花杂交选育而成, 叶浅绿色, 花冠漏斗状钟形, 花冠上部粉红色, 下部乳黄色, 有紫红色斑点。     

克萎星对棉花黄萎病的防治效果

克萎星可溶性粉剂是河南省濮阳农业科学研究所研制生产的防治棉花黄萎病的新农药，田间药效试验结果表明：克萎星防治棉花黄萎病，发病初期叶面喷施，防效71．7％～100％，最佳施用浓度500～1000倍液，间隔期7～10d,棉花安全。
