Effects of radix pseudostellariae on cardiac function and matrix metalloproteinases in rat chronic heart failure induced by coronary artery ligation

AIM:To investigate the effects of radix pseudostellariae on cardiac function and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in rat chronic heart failure induced by coronary artery ligation. METHODS:Rat model of chronic heart failure was produced by ligating the coronary artery for 6 weeks. The cardiac functions were determined by observing the hemodynamics parameters. mRNA expressions of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in left ventricular tissue were detected by RT-PCR and activities of MMPs were assayed by zemography.RESULTS:Cardiac function was remarkable turbulence after coronary artery ligation 6 weeks, according to the results of the hemodynamics. The mRNA contents and activities of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in left ventricular tissue were significantly elevated. Radix pseudostellariae remarkable ameliorated the cardiac functions, inhibited the mRNA contents and activities of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in left ventricular tissue of rat with chronic heart failure after continued 5 weeks treated with decoction of radix pseudostellariae. CONCLUSION:The decoction of radix pseudostellariae ameliorates cardiac functions of rat with chronic heart failure. The mechanism maybe involves in the inhibition of the MMP-2 and MMP-9 mRNA expression and activities in cardiac ventricles.

通过对秀山县稻飞虱30多年来历史资料的分析，从发生期、发生量、发生程度等方面探讨稻飞虱发生的演变规律。     

柴达木盆地弃耕地盐渍状况的主分量分析

采用主分量分析（PCA）方法对柴达木盆地弃耕地盐渍化状况进行了研究，结果表明，该地属于中重度氯化物盐渍地、耕作层含盐量在0．5％－4．0％之间，盐分表聚强烈，基本无自然淋溶过程。耕作层第一、二主分量显著，累计贡献率高达95．0％左右，反映了该区土壤含盐量及盐离子分布规律，认为全盐量、Cl^-,Mg^2＋是该弃耕地盐渍环境的特征因子。

Expression of scavenger receptor B1 (SR-B1) in the liver of high fat and sugar diet-induced diabetic mice

AIM: To investigate serum lipid and the expression of SR-B1 in the livers of diabetic mice. METHODS: Ten normal diet, female C57BL/6J mice, fifteen high fat and sugar diet female C57BL/6J mice, five fed 8 weeks and ten fed 16 weeks were used in the experiment. Serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), fasting blood glucose (FBG), insulin (INS) and the expression of SR-B1 in the livers were measured. RESULTS: 1. In the high fat and sugar diet mice, serum TC and FBG at 16 weeks were significantly higher than that in normal diet mice (P<0.05). 2. The expression of SR-B1 protein in the liver of high fat and sugar diet mice was the higher than that in normal mice, and the SR-B1 expression in the liver of the mouse fed 16 weeks was also higher than that fed 8 weeks. CONCLUSION: The expression of SR-B1 protein in the liver of type 2 diabetes mice is higher than that in normal mice, perhaps it is related to the decrease in serum HDL-C.     

Prognostic prediction of PTEN and Her-2 expression in breast cancer

AIM:To study the prognositic value of PTEN and Her-2 expression in primary breast cancer. METHODS:81 breast cancer specimens with 15 years follow-up were obtained from 1989 to 2004. Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression of PTEN and Her-2 in 81 paraffin-embedded specimens. The correlation between expression of PTEN and clinipathological factors was discussed with the Chi-square test. The survival rate analysis results were calculated with Kaplan-meier method.Long-rank test and Cox model by SPSS 10.0 software. 〖JP+1〗RESULTS:(1) PTEN expression significantly affects 5-year and 10-year survival rate of breast cancer (P<0.01 and P<0.05), and significantly negative correlation with the Her-2 expression was observed. (2) The patients with negative PTEN combined with positive Her-2 expression had worse prognosis. (3) Tumor sizes, postoperative therapy and PTEN expression had significant relation with the 5-year survival rate (P<0.05), and ER, Her2 and PTEN expression had significant relation with the 10-year survival rate (P<0.05). CONCLUSION:PTEN and Her-2 expression significantly affects 5-year and 10-year survival rate in patients with breast cancer, and may be biomarkers and important prognostic factors in breast cancer.     

猕猴A群链球菌感染的调查与控制

2002年3月—2003年4月，广东某地多个猕猴养殖场猕猴发生传染性肺炎和出血性胃肠炎，部分猕猴因此而死亡。经病原学检查，证实病原主要为A群链球菌，2个养殖场为A群链球球和普通变形杆菌混合感染。通过使用恩诺沙星治疗发病动物、使用链球菌灭活疫苗进行免疫、场舍定期消毒，有效地控制了疾病。现报道如下。

对安徽省历年的耕地面积以及第一产业从业人员数量的变化情况进行了分析预测,并对耕地面积所需要的劳动力数量以及剩余劳动力的动态数量进行了测算,在此基础上提出了一些引导剩余劳动力合理转移的政策建议。

提出了一套较通用且简单的地区节水水平分析方法。通过对浙江省平阳县用水与节水现状的调查分析，用该方法评价了其节水水平,并定量估算了该县的节水潜力，据此进一步地提出了各行业的节水对策，为平阳县科学制定节水目标和相关政策提供参考。
