Eleven hybridoma cell lines producing monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against intact budgerigar fledgling disease (BFD) virions were produced and characterized. These antibodies were selected for their ability to react with BFD virions in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Each of these antibodies was reactive in the immunofluorescent detection of BFD virus-infected cells. These antibodies immunoprecipitated intact virions and specifically recognized the major capsid protein, VP1, of the dissociated virion. The MAbs were found to preferentially recognize native BFD virus capsid protein when compared with denatured virus protein. These MAbs were capable of detecting BFD virus protein in chicken embryonated cell-culture lysates by dot-blot analysis. 相似文献

When susceptibility to virulent Pasteurella multocida was compared, there was no significant (P greater than 0.05) difference between caponized and uncaponized tom turkeys. Neither was there any significant (P greater than 0.05) difference between the surviving caponized and uncaponized toms in the development of serum anti-P. multocida antibody. However, at 28 weeks of age, the average live body weight of the caponized toms was significantly (P less than 0.05) lower than that of the uncaponized toms. Due to the potential for anti-erythrocyte membrane antibodies as possible enhancers of erythrocyte destruction, the presence of serum anti-erythrocyte membrane antibodies in 31 dogs with Babesia gibsoni infection admitted to a veterinary hospital was investigated by an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and immunoblotting analyses. This infection resulted in an increase of anti-erythrocyte membrane antibodies in 84% (IgG) and 74% (IgM) of 31 infected dogs, respectively. This was confirmed by the similarity in the protein profiles of the erythrocyte membrane antigens immunoblotted with rabbit antiserum to dog erythrocyte membrane antigens and infected dog serum. Samples of two Andisols and two Ultisols from southern Chile were incubated with acid or with lime for up to 60 d at 25°C or for 1 day at 40°C or at 60°C. The changes in positive and negative charge were measured. The Andisols reacted slowly at 25°C. They lost protons to the solution at high pH, thus increasing the negative charge on the soils and decreasing the pH of the solution. They gained protons at low pH, thus increasing the positive charge on the soils and increasing the pH of the solution. The Ultisols reacted more quickly but again charge and pH changed through time. For all samples, the rate of reaction was increased by incubating at 60°C. Brief incubation at 60°C produces a similar relation to that obtained after longer incubation at 25°C. Numerous inflammatory cells are thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of canine atopic dermatitis (AD) although, in the past, mast cells were considered the most important. However, evidence for this assumption is lacking. In this paper, we review the literature concerning the role of inflammatory cells in allergic reactions and conclude that a complex interplay exists between a wide variety of cell types. Thus, on the basis of the available evidence, the cells that appear to be the most important in the pathogenesis of canine AD are Langerhans' cells and dermal dendritic cells (both responsible for antigen processing and presentation), B-lymphocytes (responsible for reaginic antibody production), allergen-specific helper T-lymphocytes (responsible for cytokine production leading to activation of B-cells and other inflammatory cells) and mast cells (production of inflammatory mediators leading to inflammation). 相似文献

An apocrine adenocarcinoma was observed in the subcutis of the abdomen of golden hamster. Histologically, the tumor cells irregularly formed multiple layers of cysts and some detached cells were presented in the cystic space. PAS stain with alpha-amylase digestion revealed PAS-positive alpha-amylase-resistant granules in the cytoplasm. Immunohistochemically, cytokeratin was demonstrated in the tumor cells. Xylazine, but not medetomidine, significantly reduced the number of platelets. Both atipamezole and aspirin prevented this reduction. Additionally, there is likely to be a time when using the Internet and computers is profitable in all these ways as well as economically.
