Due to slow growth and weakness of the first development of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) plant could not combatted with weeds and easily get caught up by Ascochyta blight (Ascochyta rabiei (Pass) Labr.) disease; esp. under the late sowing and semi-arid conditions, due to effect of biotic and abiotic stress factors, significant yield losses could be arised. To be able to avoid from them is only possible to accelerate the first development of this crop. So, one of the best solutions is to use of "soil conditioner" chemical compounds such as HA at optimum dose. With this aim, it was established in order to find out the optimum dose range of HA. Three doses (D0 = 0 g, D1 = 100 g and D2 = 200 g), four varieties (V1 = Er-99, V2 = G?k?e, V3 = ILC-482 and V4 = Australia) and five yield components Plant Height (PH), First pod height (FPH), Number of Branches per Plant (NBP), Number of Pods per Plant (NPP) and Number of seeds per pod (NSP) were investigated. Obtained results are: Recommended (Optimum) HA doses and interactions were ranged and found as (V4 > V2 = V3 > V1); (D2 > D0 = D1); (D1 x V4) for the PH and FPH, (D2 x V3) for the NBP and (D1 x V3) for the NPP, respectively. It was concluded that when the recommended HA dose applied, it was seen that the first development has been clearly accelerated and increased under the semi-arid conditions in terms of investigated traits and cultivars.  相似文献

A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs (ADAMTS) have been reported to play a role in the degradation of aggrecan, a major component of cartilage. This study was performed to examine the effects of alendronate on the expression of ADAMTS in developing femoral epiphyseal cartilage. Primary cultured chondrocytes from this cartilage were treated with alendronate in vitro and postnatal day 1 rats were injected subcutaneously with alendronate (1 mg/kg) every second day in vivo . The number of cultured chondrocytes and their aggrecan mRNA levels were unaffected by the alendronate treatment at 10−6 to 10−4  m concentrations. The mRNA levels of ADAMTS-1, -2 and -9 in chondrocytes were also unaffected. However, the levels of ADAMTS-5 and -4 were reduced significantly by the same treatment. The thickness of the proliferating chondrocyte layers and the aggrecan mRNA levels in the epiphysis were unaffected by the alendronate treatment in vivo . However, the hypertrophied chondrocyte layers became significantly thicker, and the size of the secondary ossification centre was reduced significantly by the same treatment ( P  < 0.05). Both ADAMTS-4 and -5 mRNA expressions were also reduced significantly in vivo . The immunoreactivity against ADAMTS-4 was seen in hypertrophied chondrocytes and reduced significantly by the alendronate treatment. These results suggested that alendronate can inhibit the degradation of aggrecan in the articular cartilage by downregulating the expression of matrix enzymes such as ADAMTS-4 and -5.  相似文献

Summary

Pomaces obtained during the production of cloudy or clear juice from scab-resistant apple cultivars (28 harvested in 2006, and 23 harvested in 2007) were studied as a source of nutritionally important components. It was shown that the average yield of pomace during the production of cloudy juice was 6.4% (w/w), and 4.9% (w/w) for clear juice pressing. The average total dietary fibre (TDF) contents were 48.4% (w/w) and 52.4% (w/w) for cloudy and clear juice pomaces, respectively. Ten pomaces from cloudy apple juice production, and 12 obtained from clear juice production, contained ≥ 2,000 mg kg?1 of polyphenols.‘Ariwa’ and ‘Rajka’ are apple cultivars suitable for juice production and their pomaces are characterised by having high contents of TDF [50.9% (w/w) and 51.1% (w/w), respectively], with aboveaverage polyphenol and quercetin glycoside concentrations. The mean contents of quercetin glycosides for pomaces from all apple cultivars was 994 mg kg?1 after clear juice production, and 908.2 mg kg?1 after cloudy juice production. ‘Topaz’, which became a popular commercial apple cultivar in Europe, was the best source of health-promoting components. Its pomace was the richest source of polyphenols among all 28 cultivars studied. It contained ≥ 2,000 mg kg?1 quercetin glycosides in both its clear and cloudy juice pomaces.  相似文献

The effects of direct electrical current (DC) and alternating current (AC), were compared with bromoethane (BE), gibberellic acid (GA) and kinetin (Ki) for breaking tuber dormancy of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.). BE was the most effective treatment for high sprout numbers and for short emergence times of sprouts, but the growth regulators (GA and Ki) were most effective in promoting sprout elongation. Electrical currents were more effective for sprout numbers than were growth regulators, except for BE. Amylase and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) enzyme activities were different in the tuber parenchyma and the sprouts of treated tubers. Amylase activity was higher in the parenchyma than in sprouts, in contrast to PPO activity.  相似文献

Model reactions with various -SH, -OH and -NH nucleophiles in an aprotic solvent were used to characterise the nature of the enzymatic conversion of thiadiazolidines to triazolidines. We investigated the effect of feeding habits on the fatness (length–weight relationship (LW)) and otolith growth of age‐0 Pacific bluefin tuna (PBF) (fork length (FL) of 15.0–29.9 cm) collected off the southwestern Pacific coast of Japan from July to August during 2010–2015. The feeding rate on Clupeiformes (FRc) was substantially influenced by the path of the Kuroshio Current during early summer. We suggest that the following patterns occurred in the feeding habits of PBF. In 2012 and 2014, the short distance from the coast to the Kuroshio provided high overlap between PBF and Clupeiformes and increased the opportunity for feeding, and this pattern likely caused the observed diet shift from Crustacea to Clupeiformes by smaller PBF in the studied years than those in other years. In 2011 and 2015, the encounter probability for Clupeiformes might have been low due to the long distance to the Kuroshio Current, which led PBF to actively consume non‐Clupeiformes Teleostei. In contrast, in August 2010 and 2015, PBF did not encounter Clupeiformes or other Teleostei and may have been forced to feed on a large number of Crustacea; this effect was likely due to high water temperatures. Despite the interannual fluctuation in the timing of the diet shift and the feeding intensity (FI), these factors did not contribute to growth in length; rather, they contributed to fatness. Considering size‐dependent mortality in the larval stage, these results suggest that only fast‐growing individuals survive, even if the feeding conditions drastically change.  相似文献

Oxygenation status was evaluated in medetomidine-sedated dogs breathing room air (M) or 100 percent oxygen (MO2). Medetomidine (40 microg/kg IV) administration resulted in peripheral vasoconstriction and decreased venous saturation as measured by an increased oxygen extraction ratio in peripheral tissues. Providing 100 percent oxygen insufflation via face mask reduced desaturation by increasing oxygen content but did not prevent vasoconstriction or reduce the oxygen extraction ratio in peripheral tissues. Atipamezole (200 microg/kg IV) reversed medetomidine-induced vasoconstriction and increased oxygen supply to tissues as indicated by a lower tissue oxygen extraction ratio. The authors conclude that 100 percent oxygen insufflation via face mask during medetomidine sedation (40 micrograms/kg [corrected] IV) benefits tissue oxygenation in healthy dogs.  相似文献
