The blood vascular system of the stomach wall in the cat The results of 19 vascular-injections of the stomach wall in the cat are given. The arterial supply to the parietal surface is derived principally from the left gastric artery, that of the visceral surface from the short gastric branches of the splenic artery. Thus the arterial distribution is similar to the venous drainage. The blood supply of the tunica serosa and the tunica muscularis in the fornix and body regions arises from a common subserosal and muscular plexus. In the pyloric canal the blood supply arises from separate subserosal and intermuscular plexus. The submucosal plexus consists of both arteries and veins: from this, mucosal arteries ascend to a subglandular plexus and thence arterioles supply the capillary plexus of the lamina propria. Venules return the blood through collecting veins to a basal venous plexus, thence through mucosal veins to the submucosal plexus. 相似文献

A study of the early development of the heterozygous short-tail mouse (T/+) Because of the great variability during early development, it is recommended for age determination of mouse embryos to consider also features of growth; in the succeeding stages the somites and the three humps (Buckel) provide firm criteria. Since murine types differ from each other in certain features, there is no uniform conception of the kind and the form of the tissues that are affected in gene disturbances. In contrast to the current conception that in the t-mutant the disturbance arises primarily from the chorda dorsalis, the author's findings lead to the conclusion that the neural tube and the cardiovascular system are primarily involved. Chorda disturbances apparently occur in the so-called normal mouse similar to the way they occur in T/t-mutants. Because of the often observed connection between chorda and neural tube, it is possible that neurectoderm is involved in the formation of the chorda; and because of this anomalies of the neural tube in the heterozygous short-tail mouse gain significance. Mesodermal defects were rarely present in the T/t-mutant, while are very impressive in the early development of the short-tail mouse. An outbreak of amaurosis and paresis was observed amongst sheep, and occasionally cattle, which had been grazing on pastures consisting mainly of Helichrysum argyrosphaerum DC. A similar syndrome was produced by feeding the suspect plant to sheep, thereby providing proof if its toxicity. Although none of the sheep became blind and only one developed paralysis, typical sponly lesions were detected in the brains and optic fasciculi of all the experimental animals. The lesion had specific predilection sites, such as the white matter around the lateral ventricles, the optic tracts plus chiasm, the pyramidal tracts and the brachium pontis. Enlargement of the optic fasciculi furthermore gave rise to malacia, papilloedema and retinal changes. Some aged sheep developed cataracts approximately 2-3 months after the initial outbreaks of amaurosis had occurred. Circumstantial and histopathological evidence suggests that the cataracts may be due to chronic Helichrysum poisoning, but this could not confirmed in the present investigation. 相似文献

Contents: Superovulation in cattle: Hormonal profdes during superovulation with PMSG or pituitary FSH.: Hormonal profiles for LH, FSH, PMSG, progesterone in peripheral blood and oestrogens in urine during superovulation with PMSG (1500–3100 IU i. m.) or pituitary porcine FSH (5 mg i.m. 2 times daily for 5 days) were evaluated radioimmunologicaly. Two days after the begin of treatment luteolysis was induced by means of 0.5 mg Estrumat® i. m. The experiments were performed with 14 heifers and 2 cows. Blood samples were taken in 6 or 12 h intervals. Preovulatory LH and FSH peaks occurred coinciding with the onset o f oestrus in good responding animals instead of a few hours later, as in weakly responding animals or during normal oestrous cycle. PMSG could be still measured in peripheral blood 10 days after application. Preovulatory gonadotropin peaks are preceded in good responding animals by clear oestrogen peaks contrary t o weak responding ones. Progesterone concentrations of good responding animals increase faster after the preouulatory LH peak and reach higher absolute values compared t o bad responding ones or during normal oestrous cycle. Furthermore there was a clear difference in progesterone values between both stimulation methods. Progesterone concentrations after induction of superovulation with PMSG are significantly higher f o r about the same number of corpora lutea as after stimulation with pituitary FSH. For judgement of the success of stimulation the determination of progesterone can be considered as parameter. From the hormonal profiles no conclusion can be drawn why some animals don't respond to the stimulation. 相似文献
