Decision support systems based on control thresholds are an important part of integrated disease control systems in winter wheat. Various warning and forecast systems have been developed in different countries (in Latvia – under the framework of Danish-Baltic joint project ‘Development and Implementation of an Internet-based Decision Support System for Integrated Pest Management’), but results were contradictory. The aim of this investigation was to identify the possibilities for integrated disease control under intensive management of winter wheat. Different schemes of fungicide treatment, including a decision support system, were tested in field trials from 2008 to 2012 in two places. Leaf blotches caused by Pyrenophora tritici-repentis and Zymoseptoria tritici are recognised as the most harmful wheat diseases in Latvia. The total impact of diseases, which was calculated as area under disease progress curves, was affected by the year and the scheme of fungicide treatment. Significantly higher yields were obtained in treatments with fungicide application, but differences between control strategies were not significant. The obtained results confirmed that two fungicide applications are not necessary (except certain cases). The results suggest that recommendations should be based on the disease incidence on the third or second leaf of wheat.  相似文献

Abstract

The study investigates the effects of nitrogen fertilizers on the characteristics of the autumn crop of Chinese cabbage. The rates applied varied from 0 to 225 kg ha?1 (N0, N45, N90, N135, N180, N225); the supply of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers was similar in the all trials, 90 and 150 kg ha?1, respectively. It was found that the optimum nitrogen fertilization rate for the autumn crop of Chinese cabbage was N135. In the case of lower nitrogen rates the yield decreased and the cabbage heads were smaller. Further increase in fertilizer rate (>N135) resulted in a higher percentage of non-standard cabbage heads, while the yield remained almost unchanged compared with N135. The total plant mass of cabbage crop fertilized with N135 was 76 t ha?1; plant residues constituted 33 t ha?1 (43% of the total mass). The yield of market quality cabbage heads was 30 t ha?1 (70% of all the heads produced); the rest of heads were loose, not formed or rot-infected. The optimal amount of total mineral nitrogen (the sum of nitrogen present in the 0–60 cm soil layer and the nitrogen supplied with fertilizers) before planting was 260 kg ha?1. When nitrogen rates were higher than N180 the quality of cabbage heads in terms of the content of vitamin C, nitrates, soluble solids, total solids and sugars decreased.  相似文献

Summary In field trials conducted over three growth seasons I studied the differences in activities of the enzymes: polyphenoloxidase, ascorbateoxidase and peroxidase, with a heterotic single-cross hybrid of maize and its pollen-sterile analogue. Additional observations were made for differences between the single-cross hybrids and their parental lines. The samples (staminate spikelets) were taken at random just before and after tasselling. Significant differences could be established concerning the object set. Comparison of the self-pollinating line of maize with the pollen-sterile analogue revealed the down ward trend in peroxidase (P) activity with the pollen-sterile line; the upward trend in polyphenoloxidase (PPO) activity and the downward trend in ascorbateoxidase (A) activity were observed with the pollen-sterile line before tasselling. After tasselling, activity of PPO showed a downward and that of A an upward trend. The single-crospollen-sterile hybrid revealed, compared to the parental lines, an upward trend in its PPO and A activities before tasselling and a downward trend in the same enzymes after tasselling; while activity of P in this single-cross, pollen-sterile hybrid indicated the downward trend in general. Compared with the parental forms, the pollen-fertile hybrid of maize showed a trend towards lower activities of the studied enzymes for all seasons and periods under observation. Comparing results in the single-cross hybrids there was an indication of higher activities of PPO and A in the pollen-sterile analogue; whereas the same analogue revealed a lower activity of P before tasselling and higher value after tasselling.  相似文献

The composition of tree rings and soils was studied at several locations affected by smelting and transportation in the vicinity of Kitwe (Copperbelt, Zambia). The contents of cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), and lead (Pb) and the 206Pb/207Pb isotope ratios in the tree rings were interpreted in relation to potential sources of contamination such as smelter production, acidification of the environment, soil composition, raw material processing, and atmospheric suspended particulate matter (SPM). The highest Co contents in the tree rings correspond to maximum ore production in the mid-1970s. Acidification through SO2 emissions is documented in the increased Mn contents from the mid-1980s. The isotopic composition of the tree rings of the studied tree species varies in the interval 1.16?C1.34 and the youngest parts of all the studied trees exhibit a low 206Pb/207Pb ratio (<1.17). The soil isotope composition varies in the range 206Pb/207Pb?=?1.18?C1.35. The Pb isotope composition in the soils and tree rings was formed by a combination of lithogenic Pb (206Pb/207Pb????1.3), Pb in processed ores (206Pb/207Pb????1.2), and SPM (automobile) Pb (206Pb/207Pb??1.1). As the soils in the distant region have high 206Pb/207Pb ratios (>1.3) in the whole profile and simultaneously the youngest parts of the tree rings of tree species growing in this soil have a low 206Pb/207Pb ratio (<1.17), it can be assumed that the Pb in the youngest parts of the tree species is derived from absorption of SPM Pb through the bark rather than root uptake. The absence of Pb with a low 206Pb/207Pb ratio in soils in the distant area is probably affected by fires in the herbaceous and bush undergrowth and plant litter, which prevents Pb from biomass from entering the soil and mobilize it back into the atmosphere.  相似文献

The aim of this article is the determination of uranium accumulation in plants tissue in shoots and roots of corn—maize (Zea mays), grown on two types of soils, pseudogley and chernozem, together with its phytotoxic effect on the plant growth and development. The soils was contaminated with different rates (10 to 1,000 mg U(VI) kg?1) of uranyl nitrate (UO2(NO3)2·6H2O). Vegetative tests performed with maize indicated uranium phytotoxic effect on plant height, yield, and germination of seeds. This effect was stronger on the plants grown on pseudogley in comparison with those grown on chernozem. Soil properties determined the tolerance and accumulation of U in plants. A linear dependence between the content of uranium in soil and in plants tissue, including maximal content of 1,000 mg U?kg?1, indicates that maize could be used for phytoremediation of uranium-contaminated soils.  相似文献

A slightly modified three-step sequential extraction procedure proposed by the Community Bureau of Reference (BCR) for analysis of sediments was successfully applied to soil samples. Contaminated soil samples from the lead and zinc mining area in the Mezica valley (Slovenia) and natural soils from a non-industrial area were analysed. The total concentrations of Cd, Pb and Zn and their concentrations in fractions after extraction were determined by flame or electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS, ETAAS). Total metal concentrations in natural soils ranged from 0.3 to 2.6 mg kg-1 for Cd, from 20 to 45 mg kg-1 for Pb and from 70 to 140 mg kg-1 for Zn, while these concentrations ranged from 0.5 to 35 mg kg-1 for Cd, from 200 to 10000 mg kg-1 for Pb and from 140 to 1500 mg kg-1 for Zn in soils from contaminated areas. The results of the partitioning study applying the slightly modified BCR three-step extraction procedure indicate that Cd, Pb and Zn in natural soils prevails mostly in sparingly soluble fractions. Cd in natural soils is bound mainly to Fe and Mn oxides and hydroxides, Pb to organic matter, sulphides and silicates, while Zn is predominantly bound to silicates. In contaminated soils, Cd, Pb and Zn are distributed between the easily and sparingly soluble fractions. Due to the high total Cd, Pb and Zn concentrations in contaminated soil close to the smelter, ! and their high proportions in the easily soluble fraction (80% of Cd, 50% of Pb and 70% of Zn), the soil around smelters represents an environmental hazard.  相似文献

The purpose of the present experiment was to describe the influence of various mineral fertilizers on the development of Larix decidua Mill. seedlings subject to the influence of simulated acid rain of pH 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5. The seedlings were fertilized every month (from April up to October), in order to counteract acid rain. The composition of the fertilizers was diversified in order to select an optimum variant. Fertilizer with NK applied to the needles (Florovit) and NPK applied to the soil (Fruktus 2) as well as dolomite lime applied to the soil. One row per set was left without fertilization as a control for each pH step of acid rain treatment. The analysis of biometric characteristics showed that a two-year period of investigations was too short to estimate effects on Larix decidua Mill. seedlings. It, however, indicated important trends. High correlations were found between particular growth parameters i.e. diameter of root neck, root mass, total mass of: seedlings, needles, main shoots, lateral shoots, ligneous parts, total overground parts. No strong correlations were observed between the above mentioned parameters and the total height of the seedlings. Among the different treatments the best development was achieved at pH 4.0, whereas the weakest development was observed at pH 2.5. The analysis showed a decrease in biometrical features along with an increase in acidity of acid rain solution. The first year of the experiment had the greatest influence upon the growth of Larix decidua Mill. seedlings. Significant improvement in growth, in relation to control plots, was achieved by using NK-fertilizers onto needles — the best results, and NPK onto soil. The best increment of the height of seedling was noticed at pH 3.5. In the second year of the experiment the effects of pH of acid rain and fertilization decreased — no significant effect on biometrical features was observed. Applaying NPK fertilizer onto soil showed a positive effect in relation to dolomite treatment. The best increment was noticed at pH 4.0.  相似文献

The forested Lysina catchment is situated in an area very susceptible to acid deposition. The stream water is characterized by extremely high concentrations of total dissolved Al (volume weighted mean 66 Μmol L?1) and H+ (average pH=3.87). In a simple two-component model, the surface runoff component contributes only 6% of runoff in winter and 4% of runoff in summer. During flood episodes, the direct runoff contributes up to 20% of streamflow. There is a strong positive correlation between stream acidity and stream discharge. The observed exponential increase in streamwater acidity with discharge during high flow periods cannot be explained by the simple two-component model. A three-component model used for hydrograph separation is based on chemical and18O analysis of precipitation, soil water and runoff. It incorporates a soil water component along with groundwater and rainfall components in streamwater generation. Dissociated organic acids leached during the flow of water through the uppermost soil horizon help to balance an apparent anion deficit. The apparent anion deficit was found to increase exponentially with flow rate. Low variability in streamwaterδ 18O corresponds to a high contribution of indirect components (i.e., soil and ground water) in the runoff. The soil water contribution to indirect runoff calculated from the apparent anion deficit of streamwater, varied from 0 at base flow up to 80% during floods. On average, 40% of the streamwater is derived from soil water (from 31 to 39% in winter and from 47 to 54% in summer).  相似文献
