Photosynthetically active radiation(PAR) is an important input parameter for estimating plant productivity due to its key role in the growth and development of plants.However,a worldwide routine network for systematic PAR measurements is not yet established,and PAR is often calculated as a constant fraction of total solar radiation(SR).Although the ratio of PAR to SR(PAR/SR) has been reported from many places,few studies have been performed for dry regions.The present study was therefore carried out in an arid region of Mongolia to obtain PAR/SR and examine its dependency on sky clearness(the clearness index),water vapor in the atmosphere and aeolian dust.Continuous measurements of PAR and SR were taken every one second using quantum and pyranometer sensors,respectively,and the readings were averaged and recorded at intervals of 30 minutes for a period of 12 months.The lowest monthly mean daily PAR/SR occurred in April(0.420),while the highest ratio was observed in July(0.459).Mean daily PAR/SR during plant growing season(May August) was estimated to be 0.442,which could be useful for modeling plant productivity in the study area.The annual mean daily PAR/SR(0.435) was lower than the values reported in many previous studies.This difference could be explained with the regional variation in climate:i.e.drier climatic condition in the study area.PAR/SR was negatively correlated with the clearness index(r=-0.36,P<0.001),but positively with atmospheric water vapor pressure(r=0.47,P<0.001).The average PAR/SR was significantly lower(P=0.02) on the dusty days compared to the non-dust days.Water vapor in the atmosphere was shown to be the strongest factor in the variation of PAR/SR.This is the first study examining PAR/SR under a semi-arid condition in Mongolia.  相似文献

Twenty‐eight original chicken microsatellite markers were isolated and characterized to determine their utility as cross‐reactive markers for comparative genetic mapping in the order Galliformes. Primer pairs were typed in 12 unrelated chickens and also tested on Japanese quail and helmeted guinea fowl deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Polymorphism was observed in 23 (82.1%) of the markers and the average number of alleles per locus was 2.9 while the mean heterozygosity was 0.19. Eleven (39.3%) of the chicken markers cross‐reacted with Japanese quail DNA and 2 (7.1%) with helmeted guinea fowl DNA. The cross‐reactive markers described would serve as useful resources for comparative genetic mapping in poultry species belonging to the order Galliformes.  相似文献

Transgenic rice ( Oryza sativa L., a C3 plant) lines carrying a complete phospho enol pyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) gene from maize (a C4 plant) were tested for their performance in terms of organic acid synthesis and organic acid exudation into the rhizosphere under phosphorus (P)-deficient conditions. High PEPC activity increased the fraction of photosynthetically fixed carbon allocated to the organic acid pool, and P deficiency enhanced oxalate exudation from the roots of the transgenic plants. There was no evidence that the transformed PEPC was involved in internal P recycling in the plant. However, the root PEPC activity was positively correlated with the oxalate exudation and negatively correlated with the root P concentration, and a higher root PEPC activity led to a higher oxalate exudation. Thus, it is suggested that C4-PEPC transgenic rice plants had acquired the ability to exude oxalate, which enhanced their capacity to adapt to low P soil conditions.  相似文献

To understand conversion of bisphenol A and its related compounds under some chemical and biological environments, oxidation of these compounds was performed. Bisphenol A was oxidized to monoquinone and bisquinone derivatives by Fremy's salt, a radical oxidant; but salcomine and alkali did not catalyze the oxidation by molecular oxygen. Bisphenol A, bisphenol B, and 3,4'-(1-methylethylidene)bisphenol were converted to their monoquinone derivatives in the presence of oxygen and polyphenol oxidase from mushroom at 25 degrees C at pH 6.5. Among crude enzyme solutions of fruits and vegetables, potato, mushroom, eggplant, edible burdock, and yacon showed remarkable oxidative activity on bisphenol A. The highest activity was observed in potato, and the main product obtained by the enzymatic oxygenation was the monoquinone derivative of bisphenol A, accompanied by a small amount of the bisquinone derivative. The oxidation reactions found here will be useful for developing techniques for elimination of phenolic endocrine disrupters from the environment.  相似文献

The administration with high dose (close to LD50) of thioacetamide (TAA), a hepatotoxicant used widely to induce experimental liver lesions, develops hepatocellular necrosis and subsequent inflammation (mainly M1-/M2-macrophages without neutrophil infiltration) in rats. We analyzed rat livers treated with a low dose TAA (50 mg/kg/body weight) at 6, 12, 18, 24 and 48 hr. The lesions in the affected centrilobular areas consisted of slight hepatocyte degeneration at 12 hr, and inflammatory cell infiltration at 18 and 24 hr; the lesions recovered until 48 hr. Translocation of intranuclei to cytoplasm of HMGB1, a representative molecule of damage-associated molecular patterns, was seen in some hepatocytes mainly at 6, 12, and 18 hr. As an interesting finding, at 12 hr, myeloperoxidase-positive neutrophil infiltration was observed in the affected centrilobular area. Additionally, CD68 M1-/CD163 M2-macrophages increased consistently at 12 to 48 hr. CXCL1, a chemokine for induction of neutrophils, began to increase at 6 hr and gradually increased at 12, 18 and 24 hr, apparently corresponding to the appearance of neutrophils. Collectively, the present findings at the low dose TAA indicated that along with M1-/M2-macrophages, neutrophils were characteristically seen, which might be elicited by cytoplasmic translocation of HMGB1 from nuclei. These finding would be useful for evaluation of hepatotoxicity at the early stages.  相似文献

Iron overload has been well recognized to cause oxidant-mediated cellular/tissue injury; however, little is known about the effects of iron overload on the blood coagulation system. We encountered an unexpected bleeding tendency in rats fed a high-iron diet in a set of studies using iron-modified diets. In this study, we investigated the mechanism of hemorrhagic diathesis induced by dietary iron overload in rats. Six-week-old F344/DuCrlCrlj male rats were fed a standard (containing 0.02% iron) or a high-iron diet (containing 1% iron) for 6 weeks and were then sampled for hematological, blood biochemical, coagulation, and pathological examinations. Serum and liver iron levels increased in rats fed the high-iron diet (Fe group) and serum transferrin was almost saturated with iron. However, serum transaminase levels did not increase. Moreover, plasma prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time were significantly prolonged, regardless of the presence of hemorrhage. The activity of clotting factors II and VII (vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors) decreased significantly, whereas that of factor VIII was unaltered. Blood platelet levels were not influenced by dietary iron overload, suggesting that the bleeding tendency in iron-overloaded rats is caused by secondary hemostasis impairment. In addition, hemorrhage was observed in multiple organs in rats fed diets containing more than 0.8% iron. Our results suggest that iron overload can increase the susceptibility of coagulation abnormalities caused by latent vitamin K insufficiency.  相似文献

A neoplastic nodular lesion consisting of an admixture of granular cell tumor and adenocarcinoma was found in the uterus of a 26-month-old Djungarian hamster. Neoplastic cells of the uterine adenocarcinoma showed an epithelial nature in their growth patterns and by cytokeratin-immunopositive reaction, exhibiting nuclear pleomorphism. The granular cells had an abundant amount of fine granular eosinophilic cytoplasm and eccentric or central nuclei with no nuclear atypia; the granular structures were positive for periodic acid-Schiff with diastase resistance and were confirmed as lysosomes/autophagosomes by electron microscopy; immunohistochemically, the cells reacted to desmin, vimentin and α-smooth muscle actin and negatively for neurogenic, histiocyte/macrophage or epithelial markers, indicating smooth muscle origin. Because these tumors were generated from different cell origins, a diagnosis of collision tumor was made.  相似文献
