Modifications of virgin olive oil subjected to accelerated storage were evaluated by HS-SPME analysis. To find a suitable marker of oxidative degradation, the volatile compounds showing variable concentration during the oxidative process have been identified and quantified by SPME coupled to GC-MS and GC-FID, respectively. The SPME analysis results were then compared with the parameters usually applied to assess the oxidative status of lipids, such as peroxide value, spectrophotometric absorbance, and loss of unsaturated fatty acids. Finally, the assessment of nonanal has been suggested as a marker of oxidative degradation. This rapid, inexpensive, and reliable method may allow screening of oils prior to testing by a panel of assessors. 相似文献

The activity of the mutant CYPBM3 “21B3”, which is able to use hydrogen peroxide as the final electron acceptor, was evaluated against two major environmental pollutants; organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticides. This evolved CYP from Bacillus megaterium is able to transform a variety of structurally different pesticides. The catalytic parameters for two organochlorine; dichlorophen (kcat = 9.2 min−1, KM = 64.1 μM) and linuron (kcat = 226.5 min−1, KM = 468.2 μM), and two organophosphorus compounds; parathion (kcat = 10.9 min−1, KM = 59.3 μM) and chlorpyrifos (kcat = 9.2 min−1, KM = 226.5 μM) were determined giving catalytic efficiencies between 0.143 and 1.107 min−1 μM−1. CYPBM3 “21B3” has the ability to both activate and detoxify organophosphorus pesticides, as demonstrated by the chemical nature of the reaction products. The capacity to transform structurally diverse compounds together with the great stability, easy production and relatively inexpensive cofactors needed, makes CYPBM3 “21B3” an enzyme with a potential use on the environmental field. 相似文献

Influence of different plant species on water repellency in Mediterranean heathland soils 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
It is established that soil hydrophobicity reduces soil infiltration rates, and enhances runoff flow and soil erosion. Water repellency has been studied with special interest in coniferous and eucalyptus forests, particularly after burning, but the number of studies concerning Mediterranean heathlands is still very low. In this paper, we study the occurrence and persistence of water repellency in soil samples collected under different plant species susceptible to induce soil hydrophobicity (Erica arborea, Erica australis, Calluna vulgaris, Quercus lusitanica and Rhododendron ponticum) in a natural protected area in southern Spain. Great attention has been paid to the relationships between soil water repellency and environmental factors as organic matter content and soil acidity. The largest hydrophobicity was measured in soil samples collected under E. australis, E. arborea and C. vulgaris. For these species, the organic matter content and pH showed positive and negative correlations with the persistence of water repellency, respectively. The hydrophobicity originated by humic substances in the soil seems to be the only explanation for slight soil water repellency under Q. lusitanica or R. ponticum. The patchy patterns of occurrence and persistence of soil water repellency is governed by the spatial distribution of the studied species and modulated by other factors. Soil surface water repellent layers reduce the infiltration rates and limit the water storage capacity. However, the macropore flow can be enhanced on non-repellent layers, cracks or roots such us the wetting's front shown. The vegetation effects on soil hydrology should be considered for afforestation works and flooding control. 相似文献

economic potential, there is a lack of information on the genetic variability of Couepia species. This study examines AFLP variation among 40 accessions of Couepia collected in the Colombian Amazonian region, representing two species: Couepia
dolichopoda and Couepia
subcordata. The individuals were examined for 96 markers generated from four EcoRI/MseI primer pairs, with 80% polymorphism across all accessions studied. According to cluster analysis, 40 accessions were grouped
into two major clusters, corresponding to the two species analyzed, except one case whose situation is discussed. In C. dolichopoda accessions, significant correlation between the clustering pattern and the geographical origin was detected; the extent of
variation within and among its collect sites was examined by AMOVA. The knowledge about the genetic variability of the accessions

Given the increasing number of actors related to farming that make decisions at different scales (plot, farm, region, etc.), knowledge about patterns and processes that behave hierarchically is increasingly needed. This is necessary in countries like Argentina, where cultivation expanded at increasing pace during the last 50 years over an area of 1.47 million km2. Relying on different sources of existing data, the purpose of this work was to assess the cross-scale dependence of patterns and processes related to the expansion of cultivation in Argentina. The study involved indicators of (i) carbon, nitrogen and phosphorous stocks, (ii) energy productivity, fossil energy consumption, C, N and P balances, water consumption and greenhouse gases fluxes, and (iii) impacts related to pesticide contamination, habitat intervention and soil erosion. Three scales involving (i) regions, (ii) macro-regions and (iii) the whole country were analyzed. Principal Components, Correlation and Regression Analysis were used to identify and quantify meaningful relationships between the different scales. The expansion of annual crops affected C-N-P stocks significantly at the regional scale, whereas it influenced energy and matter flows, and contamination across all scales. This finding explains conflictive responses to land use and management when different scales are considered and shows that scale dependency needs to be considered when their effects on the environment are explored and quantified. 相似文献

The objectives of this work were to phenotypically and genetically characterize alfalfa rhizosphere bacteria and to evaluate
the effect of single or mixed inoculation upon nodulation and biological nitrogen fixation. Thirty-two strains showed tricalcium
phosphate solubilization ability, and two of them caused bigger or equal solubilization halos than the control strain P. putida SP22. The comparison of the 16S ribosomal DNA sequences indicated that these strains are phylogenetically related to Bacillus spp. and Pseudomonas spp. A beneficial effect of both isolates on alfalfa growth was observed in coinoculation assays. Pseudomonas sp. FM7d caused a significant increase in root and shoot dry weight, length, and surface area of roots, number, and symbiotic
properties of alfalfa plants. The plants coinoculated with Sinorhizobium meliloti B399 and the Bacillus sp. M7c showed significant increases in the measured parameters. Our results indicating that strains Pseudomonas sp. FM7d and Bacillus sp. M7c can be considered for the formulation of new inoculants. 相似文献

trans-Resveratrol (trans-R) has been reported to be a potential cancer chemopreventive agent. Although its cytotoxic activity against different cancer cell lines has been tested, its effect on human acute leukemia cell lines has scarcely been investigated, and only a few in vitro studies were performed using human breast epithelial cell lines. Due to its potential value for human health, demand for trans-R has rapidly increased, and new biotechnological strategies to obtain it from natural edible sources have been developed. Thus, grapevine cell cultures represent a reliable system of trans-R production since they biosynthesize trans-R constitutively or in response to elicitation. In addition, there are no studies deepen on the inhibitory effect of trans-R, produced by elicited grapevine cell cultures, on growth of human tumor cell lines. In this work, the effect of trans-R extracted from the culture medium, after elicitation of grapevine cell cultures, was tested on two human acute lymphocytic and monocytic leukemia cell lines, and one human breast cancer cell line. The effect of trans-R on cell proliferation was not only dose- and time-dependent but also cell type-dependent, as seen from the different degrees of susceptibility of cancer cell lines tested. As regards the effect of trans-R on cell cycle distribution, low trans-R concentrations increased cells in the S phase whereas a high trans-R concentration increased G0/G1 phase in all cell lines. Perturbation of the cell cycle at low trans-R concentrations did not correlate with the induction of cell death, whereas a high trans-R concentration, cell proliferation decreased as a result of increasing apoptosis in the three cell lines. In leukemia cells, trans-R up-regulated the expression of caspase-3 while trans-R-induced apoptosis in breast cells occur through a caspase-3-independent mechanism mediated by a down-regulation of Bcl-2. 相似文献

The recent pandemic caused by human influenza virus A(H1N1) 2009 contains ancestral gene segments from North American and Eurasian swine lineages as well as from avian and human influenza lineages. The emergence of this A(H1N1) 2009 poses a potential global threat for human health and the fact that it can infect other species, like pigs, favours a possible encounter with other influenza viruses circulating in swine herds. In Europe, H1N1, H1N2 and H3N2 subtypes of swine influenza virus currently have a high prevalence in commercial farms. To better assess the risk posed by the A(H1N1) 2009 in the actual situation of swine farms, we sought to analyze whether a previous infection with a circulating European avian-like swine A/Swine/Spain/53207/2004 (H1N1) influenza virus (hereafter referred to as SwH1N1) generated or not cross-protective immunity against a subsequent infection with the new human pandemic A/Catalonia/63/2009 (H1N1) influenza virus (hereafter referred to as pH1N1) 21 days apart. Pigs infected only with pH1N1 had mild to moderate pathological findings, consisting on broncho-interstitial pneumonia. However, pigs inoculated with SwH1N1 virus and subsequently infected with pH1N1 had very mild lung lesions, apparently attributed to the remaining lesions caused by SwH1N1 infection. These later pigs also exhibited boosted levels of specific antibodies. Finally, animals firstly infected with SwH1N1 virus and latter infected with pH1N1 exhibited undetectable viral RNA load in nasal swabs and lungs after challenge with pH1N1, indicating a cross-protective effect between both strains. 相似文献
