Airway hypersensitivity induced by Ascaris suum extract in New Zealand Romney sheep

Sheep from local farms with and without previous exposure to pigs were tested for their skin and airway responses to a commercial Ascaris suum antigen. There was an immediate reaction to intradermal injection of the antigen in 90% of 101 sheep. A bronchial provocation test by aerosol of the same antigen was undertaken on 43 of the sheep with a positive skin reaction. About 70% of sheep showed an immediate airway response to the antigen as an aerosol, reflected as a significant increase in airway resistance and/or decrease of dynamic lung compliance. The mean peak airway resistance and mean lowest dynamic lung compliance were 165% above and 61% below their baselines, respectively. No significant changes were recorded when the same animals were given an aerosol of phosphate buffered saline. Similarly, no correlation was found between the degree of skin reaction and the magnitude of bronchoconstriction (p>0.05). The sheep with previous exposure to pigs showed no significant differences in airway responses to antigen challenge, although they showed significantly greater skin reactions than those without exposure to pigs. These results indicate that the majority of Romney sheep in the Manawatu have a natural skin and airway sensitivity to A. suum antigen and may therefore be used as an animal model to study human airway hypersensitivity. The origin of this sensitivity has yet to be determined.     

东亚飞蝗蝗蝻抽样的研究

自五十年代以来,应用于东亚飞蝗蝗区估计蝗蝻种群密度的抽样方法,是样方为10平方尺的筒单随机抽样。本文是以抽样数、抽样消耗、相对精确度为标准,对三种抽样模型、三个抽样单位进行了比较。根据这些结果,我们提出了在当前蝗蝻密度较低的情况下,应采用样方为100平方尺的最适配额分层抽样。这种抽样方法在精确度方面可以高出现用的抽样方法2倍以上。而抽样时间消耗可相对节约一半以上。     

棉籽壳对黄萎病菌的抑菌作用和抑菌物质的分析

根据过去观察,棉籽壳有明显抑制黄萎病菌的作用。本试验初步证明这一抑菌物质具有丹宁类物质的某些特性。不同铃龄各部位的抑菌强度总趋势,与用高锰酸钾滴定法测得的丹宁类物质含量趋势一致,即不论大、中、小铃,感病及抗病品种,种壳的抑菌作用均大于胎座。初步认为种壳中较高浓度的丹宁类物质是种子内部带菌率极低的主要原因之一。纯丹宁在棉籽饼粉酒精洋莱培养基中的抑菌作用较供试的其它培养基小,说明此培养基用于种子带菌分离的优越性。棉花枯萎病菌对丹宁的耐受力显著高于黄萎病菌。     

Decomposition of calcium carbonate and organic carbon in the deep oceans

Simple mass-balance calculations indicate that in seawater the calcium variation (DeltaCa) correlates with the variation in the titration alkalinity (DeltaTA) and the variation in the total carbon dioxide (DeltasigmaCO(2)) or nitrate (DeltaNO(3)) according to the equations DeltaCa = 0.46288 DeltaTA + 0.074236 DeltasigmaCO(2) and DeltaCa = 0.5 DeltaTA + 0.53125 DeltaNO(3). The estimated values for DeltaCa from these equations, which agree with the values obtained from direct measurements, have been used to estimate the ratio of the in situ inorganic to organic carbon fluxes in the oceans. The precise vertical distribution of this ratio is shown for the first time.     

结球莴苣“烧边”成因及其调控措施的研究进展

结球莴苣烧边病是生理性病害，严重影响其品质，制约生产。国内外多数研究者认为钙缺乏导致结球莴苣烧边病的发生，但是现在许多研究表明其他因素也能导致烧边病的出现，例如环境因素、生长速率、内源激素等，所以研究烧边病发生的机制及其与环境因素的关系是防御结球莴苣烧边病发生的关键。     

杨桃果实生长发育过程中营养品质的变化

杨桃（Averrhoa arambola L．）为华南地区重要的热带水果。本试材为华南农业大学园艺分场种植的3年生盆栽马来西亚甜杨桃，砧木为酸杨桃。在杨桃的开花期，选择生长势、开花数量和时间较一致45株为试材，再选择受精时间一致的果实做标记。采样时问从开花后（2003年7月15日）至杨桃充分成熟（2003年10月25）。测定杨桃果实中的糖（蒽酮比色法）、有机酸（HPLC法）、维生素C（2，6-二氯靛酚钠滴定法）和单宁（高锰酸钾滴定法）的含量。

椰糠对黄瓜穴盘苗生长发育的影响

将草炭、椰糠、蛭石按不同比例配制育苗基质,探讨椰糠对黄瓜秧苗生长发育的影响。结果表明,椰糠具有较好的保水性,酸碱度适合于作为穴盘育苗基质,出苗情况较好,秧苗质量高,证明椰糠是一种良好的园艺栽培基质。     

甘肃中部地区厚皮甜瓜1年3代繁殖技术研究

2001年对中早熟厚皮甜瓜进行了1年3代繁殖技术试验研究,结果表明:各代繁殖的效果不同,第2 代单果重0.85 kg,单果籽粒数134粒,显著高于第1代和第3代的单果重和单果籽粒数;可溶性固形物含量第1代最高(为16.5%),第2代次之(为15.0%),二者显著高于第3代(为12.5%);较常规南繁可节省费用一半以上。对各代在繁种和育种中的利用价值进行了评议。     

饲粮中添加抗菌肽对肉鸭增重及血清尿素氮、总蛋白水平的影响

240只1日龄肉鸭随机成分4组,每组设3个重复,对照组用基础日粮,试验组在基础日粮上每千克分别添加1、2、3mL抗菌肽制剂。结果显示:1)2、3mL/kg添加量组增重效果显著(P<0.05),3mL/kg添加量组最佳;净肉率升高,达到显著水平(P<0.05),其中主要是胸肌率上升;腹脂率降低但差异不显著(P>0.05);料重比无显著变化(P>0.05)。2)血清总蛋白浓度差异不显著(P>0.05),但尿素氮浓度下降,2、3mL/kg添加量组达显著水平(P<0.05),3mL/kg添加量组最低。
