The electron-rich, six-coordinate tris-aryloxide uranium(III) complex [((AdArO)3tacn)U(III)] [where (AdArOH)3tacn = 1,4,7-tris(3-adamantyl-5-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzyl)1,4,7-triazacyclononane] reacts rapidly with CO2 to yield [((AdArO)3tacn)U(IV)(CO2)], a complex in which the CO(2) ligand is linearly coordinated to the metal through its oxygen atom (eta1-OCO). The latter complex has been crystallographically and spectroscopically characterized. The inequivalent O-C-O bond lengths [1.122 angstroms (A) for the O-C bond adjacent to uranium and 1.277 A for the other], considered together with magnetization data and electronic and vibrational spectra, support the following bonding model: U(IV)=O=C*-O- <--> U(IV)-OC-O-. In these charge-separated resonance structures, the uranium center is oxidized to uranium(IV) and the CO2 ligand reduced by one electron.  相似文献

We report the specific transduction, via surface stress changes, of DNA hybridization and receptor-ligand binding into a direct nanomechanical response of microfabricated cantilevers. Cantilevers in an array were functionalized with a selection of biomolecules. The differential deflection of the cantilevers was found to provide a true molecular recognition signal despite large nonspecific responses of individual cantilevers. Hybridization of complementary oligonucleotides shows that a single base mismatch between two 12-mer oligonucleotides is clearly detectable. Similar experiments on protein A-immunoglobulin interactions demonstrate the wide-ranging applicability of nanomechanical transduction to detect biomolecular recognition.  相似文献

Two distinct suites of minerals included in natural diamond occur and probably represent different physical and chemical conditions during diamond growth. Minerals of the ultramafic suite appear to have equilibrated in the range 1000 degrees to 1300 degrees C between 45 and 65 kilobars, whereas the temperature range for minerals of the eclogitic suite is 850 degrees to 1250 degrees C. At present, models relating the partitioning of magnesium and iron between coexisting phases are not sufficiently rigorous to determine a value for the pressure of equilibration of these eclogitic suite inclusions.  相似文献

The chiral fullerene C(76) was kinetically resolved by asymmetric osmylation providing an example of an optically active allotrope of a pure element. C(76) recovered from the treatment of racemic C(76) with OsO(4) and a chiral alkaloid ligand, showed a specific rotation [alpha](D) of -4000 degrees (> 97 percent enantiomeric excess) and a circular dichroism spectrum corresponding to the ultraviolet spectrum. Regenerated C(76) formed by reducing the asymmetrically osmylated C(76) with SnCl(2) was enriched in the opposite enantiomer. Analysis of the local curvature of the C(76) molecule indicated that OsO(4) should selectively add to 2 of the 30 types of bonds in C(76). This regioselectivity was supported chromatographically and interpreted in terms of the kinetic resolution.  相似文献

Compound 4-n-butyl-1,2,4-triazole was demonstrated as an enduring and selective systemic fungicide for the control of wheat leaf rust by foliar and soil applications. Among several species of rust fungi treated, only wheat leaf rust (Puccinia recondita Rob.) was controlled. Wheat stem rust, for example, was unaffected by either soil or foliar applications.  相似文献
