Solubility rate determinations were conducted on electrolytic iron and hydrogen reduced iron and carbonyl iron samples to study the correlation of biological availability and solubility. There was excellent correlation for the hydrogen reduced iron and electrolytic iron samples,. The carbonyl iron samples showed a direct relationship between solubility and bioavailability, but these data were not numerically equivalent to data from other types.  相似文献

RAPD (randomly amplified polymorphic DNA) analysis was carried out on 16 accessions representing the three ecological races of avocado (Persea americana Mill.), and one accession of P. schiedeana Nees. Twenty two preselected primers produced 133 polymorphic DNA fragments in the RAPD assay of the avocado accessions. One primer was identified which could differentiate each of the avocado accessions. Potentially race-specific markers for each of the Mexican, Guatemalan, and West Indian races, have been detected. A Jaccard's similarity coefficient matrix was generated and a dendrogram constructed using UPGMA (unweighted pair-group method of arithmetic averages) cluster analysis. Percentage similarity between avocado accessions ranged from 46% to 85%. The lowest similarity (between 22% and 29%) was revealed between P. schiedeana and any P. americana accession. Average similarity within races of avocado was 75% for the Mexican race, 71% for the West Indian race and 73% for the Guatemalan race. Average similarity between races ranged from 53% to 58%. The dendrogram identified three groups, representing the races of avocado. These results are in concordance with the present classification of avocado into three subspecies (varieties) of P. americana, namely drymifolia, americana, and guatemalensis, corresponding to the Mexican, West Indian and Guatemalan races, respectively, and confirm the separate species status of P. schiedeana. We conclude that RAPD markers may be useful for the classification of avocado and for the assessment of genetic diversity of avocado germplasm. Several global developments (e.g. diminishing production resources, growing demand for bio-energy) and numerous sector-wide crises (e.g. BSE, swine fever, dioxin) have led to a changing attitude of society towards the consequences of the food systems activities for social, economic and environmental issues, captured in the term of sustainability. Consumers in their role as final customers, and as a consequence also enterprises within agri-food supply chains, show increasing interest in the characteristics of food, and in turn, on the availability of related information and guarantees. Enterprises in agri-food supply chains are facing new expectations and are seeking to communicate social, economic and environmental performance of their business to customers within their supply chain and to consumers. New solutions for determination and communication of sustainability are needed for the agri-food sector, covering single aspects of sustainability as well as sustainability in a broader sense, including social, economic and environmental issues. Integrated, computer-based information services, since they are mainly building on existing systems, provide flexible solutions for enterprises to measure and evaluate sustainability of products throughout agri-food supply chains. Gained information on product characteristics might be used for decision support within enterprises as well as for communication of sustainable practices to customers and consumers, resulting in increased competitiveness of enterprises, supply chains and the sector by satisfying customers’ and consumers’ demands for information on the sustainability of a product. The present paper introduces a framework for developing information services for European pork chains using the three selected information domains food safety (representing social sustainability), quality (representing economic sustainability) and global warming potential (representing environmental sustainability). Resulting information models give an aggregated overview on information availability and exchange in European pork chains, additional information demands of possible service users and deficiencies in the existing information infrastructures. The paper supports different stakeholders involved in agri-food production, such as service developers, enterprise decision makers and management consultants, in developing enterprise- and chain-specific solutions which meet customers’ and consumers’ demands by providing appropriate sustainability information and guarantees.  相似文献

It was hypothesized that increasing air and/or soil temperature would increase rates of microbial processes including litter decomposition and net N mineralization, resulting in greater sequestration of carbon and nitrogen in humus, and consequently development in OH horizon (humus horizon). To quantify the effect of temperature on biochemical processes controlling the rate of OH layer development three adjacent forest floors under beech, Norway spruce and mixed species stands were investigated at Soiling forest, Germany by an incubation experiment of OH layer for three months. Comparing the fitted curves for temperature sensitivity of OH layers in relation to net N mineralization revealed positive correlation across all sites. For the whole data set of all stands, a Q10 (temperature sensitivity index) value of 2.35-2.44 dependent on the measured units was found to be adequate for describing the temperature dependency of net N mineralization at experimental site. Species-specific differences of substrate quality did not result in changes in biochemical properties of OH horizon of the forest floors. Temperature elevation increased net N mineralization without significant changes in microbial status in the range of I to 15℃. A low Cmic /Corg (microbial carbon/organic carbon) ratio at 20℃ indicated that the resource availability for decomposers has been restricted as reflected in significant decrease of microbial biomass.  相似文献

测定森林土壤中的CO2 和N2O 的释放,在评价森林平衡大气中CO2 和N2O的作用方面有着重要的意义.为了量化立地对净碳矿化和N2O氮释放温度依赖性的影响,在德国的索尔森林,调查了三毛举林,挪威云杉和混合林三种相邻的地被物,并进行了3个月不同温度的培养试验.结果表明,3种森林地被物的净碳矿化率和N2O氮的释放量随温度上升呈现指数性增长.在一定温度范围内(1(20oC),利用温度系数函数(Q10)拟合通量率来描述森林地被物的温度敏感性.各试验点的森林地被物的温度敏感性拟合曲线与净碳矿化和N2O氮释放率都显正相关.各试验林的全部数据表明,每个单位的净碳矿化和N2O氮释放的温度系数函数值(Q10)分别为1.73(2.10和2.81(3.58,可用以描述试验地净碳矿化和N2O氮释放率对温度的依赖性.在三毛举和云杉的单一树种和混合种中,净碳矿化率 和N2O 氮释放率的温度依赖性没有明显的差异,表明净净碳矿化率和N2O 氮释放量不受不同树种凋落物质量的影响.  相似文献

调查了施加氮肥(15NH4和15NO3)处理后在两个连续生长季内欧洲水青冈(Fagus sylvatica L.)幼苗地上部分和地下部分的生物量和营养元素分配。盆栽欧洲水青冈幼苗培养于温室大棚内,培养土样取自相邻的三种林分:欧洲水青冈,挪威赤松,欧洲水青冈-赤松混交林。结果表明,氮肥(15N)处理对欧洲水青冈营养元素分配没有显著影响,施加氮素形式决定自身流入植物库的情况。欧洲水青獭收氮素主要以硝态氮的形式,因此,尽管植物体内保存的硝态氮和氨态氮并没有统计差异,但是叶片中硝态氮明显减少。施加硝态氮对欧洲水青冈氮素恢复的影响要大于施加氨态氮。与欧洲水青冈茎、粗根相比,优质根系对氮素(15N)固定是一个缓慢过程。表8图1参40。  相似文献

Delphinidin has been found to possess DNA strand-breaking properties in cell culture. In the present study, we demonstrated that the extent of DNA damage by delphinidin is not affected by the expression of tyrosyl-DNA-phosphodiesterase 1, indicating that the induction of DNA strand breaks is not predominantly topoisomerase-mediated. However, the DNA-damaging properties of delphinidin were decreased by the addition of catalase to the cell culture medium, counteracting delphinidin-mediated hydrogen peroxide formation. Under these conditions, delphinidin showed clearly antioxidative properties in HT29 cells, preventing menadione-induced oxidative DNA damage. In contrast, in the absence of catalase, delphinidin lacked antioxidative properties. In conclusion, delphinidin acted as an effective antioxidant within intact cells if the formation of hydrogen peroxide was prevented. In the absence of catalase, the accumulated hydrogen peroxide appears to play a substantial role for the observed DNA-damaging properties of delphinidin and the apparent lack of antioxidative properties of this anthocyanidin.  相似文献

The metabolism of cymoxanil [1-(2-cyano-2-methoxyiminoacetyl)-3-ethyl urea] by a very sensitive strain of Botrytis cinerea toward this fungicide was studied by using [2-(14)C]-cymoxanil. Labeled cymoxanil was added either in a culture of this strain or in its enzymatic extract. The main metabolites, detected in biological samples, were isolated and identified by mass and NMR spectrometry. Their identification allowed us to show that this strain quickly metabolized cymoxanil according to at least three enzymatic pathways: (i) cyclization leading, after hydrolysis, to ethyl parabanic acid, (ii) reduction giving demethoxylated cymoxanil, and (iii) hydrolysis and reduction followed by acetylation leading to N-acetylcyanoglycine. In a cell-free extract of the same strain, only the first and the second enzymatic reactions, quoted above, occurred. Biological tests showed that, among all the metabolites, only N-acetylcyanoglycine is fungitoxic toward this sensitive strain.  相似文献

A 28-day incubation experiment at 12°C was carried out on the decomposition of maize leaf litter to answer the questions: (1) Is the decomposition process altered by chemical manipulations due to differences in the colonization of maize leaf litter? (2) Do organisms using this maize material contribute significantly to the soil microbial biomass? The extraction of the maize straw reduced its initial microbial biomass C content by 25%. Fumigation and extraction eliminated the microbial biomass by 88%. In total, 17% of added maize straw C was mineralized to CO2 during the 28-day incubation at 12°C in the treatment with non-manipulated straw. Only 14% of added C was mineralized in the treatment with extracted straw as well as in the treatment with fumigated and extracted straw. The net increase in microbial biomass C was 79 μg g?1 soil in the treatment with non-manipulated straw and an insignificant 9 μg g?1 soil in the two treatments with manipulated straw. However, the net increase did not reflect the fact that the addition of maize straw replaced an identical 58% (≈180 μg g?1 soil) of the autochthonous microbial biomass C3-C in all three straw treatments. In the two treatments with manipulated straw, the formation of maize-derived microbial biomass C4-C was significantly reduced by 25%. In the three straw treatments, the ratio of fungal ergosterol-to-microbial biomass C ratio showed a constant 60% increase compared to the control, and the contents of glucosamine and muramic acid increased by 18%. The average fungal C/bacterial C ratio was 3.6 in the soil and 5.0 in the recovered maize straw, indicating that fungal dominance was not altered by the initial chemical manipulations of the maize straw-colonizing microorganisms.  相似文献

It has widely been acknowledged that the diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) is greatly affected by climate, land use intensity, and soil parameters. The objective of this study was to investigate AMF diversity in multiple agricultural soils (154 sites; 92 grasslands and 62 croplands) distributed over all agricultural regions in Switzerland and differing in a number of soil parameters (e.g., land use type and intensity, and altitude). We highlighted the main factors responsible for major AMF community shifts and documented specific distribution patterns for each AMF species. AMF spores were morphologically identified and counted for each species. In total, 17,924 spores were classified and 106 AMF species were identified. In general, AMF species richness (SR) was higher in grasslands than in croplands. In croplands, SR increased with altitude but this trend was not observed in grasslands. Some species occurred at virtually all sites, while others were rarely detected, and for others, species-specific distribution patterns were revealed. Some species were affected by land use type or intensity, or related factors like soil organic matter, soil microbial biomass and respiration or nutrient availability. Other species were more affected by soil pH and related parameters like base saturation and carbonate contents, by soil texture, or by altitude, or by a combination of two to several of all these parameters. We conclude that a high number of AMF species may serve as indicator species for specific habitats and land use. These species might deliver certain ecosystem services at their habitats and deserve further investigation about their functional diversity.  相似文献
