The current research discusses the efforts to achieve a Poly(lactide-co-glycolide)(PLGA) nanofiber yarn using two differently charged nozzles with potential application as surgery suture. First, electrospinning parameters such as solution concentration, applied voltage, feed rate were optimized to produce yarn with smooth nanofibers. In order to improve the properties of produced suture, heat setting setup was developed. Two heat setting techniques, including hot water and dry heat were applied, and the influence of the heat setting process on the mechanical properties of yarn was studied. The results showed that heat setting with boiling water was the best method. At first strength, E-modulus and extension of prepared suture were 36.6 MPa, 0.9 GPa and 68.8 % respectively. After improvement with heat setting, strength and E-modulus increased to 63.7 MPa, 2.7 GPa respectively and extension decreased to 29.7 %. Finally, in order to analyze knot performance, two types of surgical knot (square and surgeon) were used, and mechanical properties were investigated. The presence of knot lessens mechanical properties for each two type. Square knot showed better mechanical properties than surgeon’s knot. With square knot strength, E-modulus and extension were 62.1 MPa, 2.1 GPa, 28.6 %, respectively. In vitro study of nanofiber yarn degradation behavior showed that the mechanical properties were decreased. This could be due to greater surface area of nanofibers exposed to surrounding environment.  相似文献

Today, environmental protection and safe crop production are very important. The management of soil elements by compost is considered as important for sustainable agriculture. The mode of action of the composts is very different between various plant species. To evaluate the effects of different composts on soil structural and chemical properties and on morphological traits of two dry rangeland species (atriplex; Atriplex lentiformis and mesquite; Prosopos juliflora), a study was conducted in Fars Province of Iran during the year 2010. The study was a factorial experiment based on a randomized complete block design with three replications. Treatments included compost types: solid (SC) and liquid compost or compost tea (LC), solid-liquid mixture (XSL) and control (Con; non used compost) as the first factor, and two pasture plant species as the second factor. The results showed that the compost application had significant and positive effects on morphological traits such as plant height, stem diameter, plant volume, crown length, width, and area, and caused 15, 51.18, 70.67, 34.18, 18.35, and 64.94% increase on these morphological traits, respectively. Although soil acidity was not significantly affected by compost and species, the effects of compost were significant on organic matter percentage, soil phosphorous, and potassium contents. Soil nitrogen percentage was affected by both species and compost. Compost application caused a decrease in the amount of sodium compared with the control. Overall, the results of this study suggested that within the compost types, liquid compost was an advisable biofertilizer in a similar climate. Furthermore, the LC and the XSL are recommended for improving the morphological traits and the soil characteristics, respectively.  相似文献

This paper reports on inclusion of Spirulina platensis (SP) in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fish diet and its effect on the fish tissue fatty acids (FAs) composition. Fish in triplicate groups with average initial body weight of 75 ± 0.23 g and age of about 7 months were fed a control diet with no supplements and with three experimental diets supplemented with 2.5, 5 and 7.5 weight percent (wt%) of SP for 12 weeks. At the end of experiment, the fillet FA compositions were evaluated. It was found that the composition of FAs in fish fillet was significantly (P < 0.05) affected by inclusion of SP in diets. As compared to the control sample, feeding the fish supplemented particularly with low levels of SP improved the quality of FAs by decreasing undesirable saturated FAs (SFAs) content from 20.03 to 17.93 % and increasing the level of some beneficial long-chain highly unsaturated FAs namely eicosapentaenoic acid (C20:5 n-3) from 6.47 to 7.27 %, docosapentaenoic acid (C22:5 n-3) from 1.42 to 1.56 % and docosahexaenoic acid (C22:6 n-3) from 1.26 to 1.35 %. Further increase in the SP inclusion level generally did not lead to desirable results. The SP inclusion in the fish diet had no significant impact on overall contents of n-3 and n-6 polyunsaturated FAs in fish fillet. However, the total highly unsaturated FAs (HUFAs) and n-3 HUFAs levels, UFAs/SFAs ratio and n-3/n-6 index were increased from 11.25, 10.65, 3.98 and 0.57 to 12.13, 11.56, 4.40 and 0.62 %, respectively, as a result of 5 wt% SP loading. In general, it can be concluded that SP inclusion up to 5 wt% of loading in rainbow trout culture can be beneficial in terms of FAs compositions of the fish fillet.  相似文献

Fish and aquatic-derived zoonotic diseases have caused considerable problems in the aquaculture industry and fishery worldwide. In particular, zoonotic diseases can pose widespread threats to humans. With the world’s growing population and potential global trade of aquaculture and fish, the risk of environmental contamination and development of fish and aquatic-derived zoonoses in humans are increasing. The important causes of zoonoses include bacteria, parasites, viruses, and fungi. The zoonotic bacterial agents are divided into two main groups: Gram-positive (Mycobacteriaceae, Streptococcaceae, Erysipelothricaceae families) and Gram-negative (Aeromonadaceae, Vibrionaceae, Pseudomondaceae, Enterobacteriaceae, and Hafniaceae families). The premier parasitic agents include cestodes (tapeworm; e.g. Diphyllobothrium spp.), trematodes (fluke; e.g. Opisthorchis spp.), and nematodes (round worm; e.g. Anisakis spp.). In addition, protozoan organisms such as Cryptosporidium spp. are also considered fish-derived zoonotic pathogens. Two groups of fish-associated fungi causing basidiobolomycosis and sporotrichosis also pose a zoonotic risk for humans. The majority of the fish-derived zoonotic diseases are transmitted to humans mainly via the consumption of improperly cooked or raw fish or fish products. Therefore, the incidence of zoonotic diseases can be reduced by properly processing fish and fish products, e.g. by thermal (heat/freezing) treatment. The prevalence of zoonotic agents in fishes varies seasonally and should be regularly monitored to evaluate the prevalence of pathogens in both wild and cultured fish populations. This review focuses on the fish zoonotic agents/diseases and their control and prevention.  相似文献
